So, our brilliant polititans here in the Land of Lincoln (pronounced Obaaaaama) have once again sold the people out by passing Governor Quinn's bill to raise the State Income tax by 60%, on the final day before they leave and the next group of hacks gets sworn in.
Seriously, I'm gonna leave this state. Anyone have any recomendations for someone who's barely breaking even as it is?

Seriously, I'm gonna leave this state. Anyone have any recomendations for someone who's barely breaking even as it is? I suggest Georgia. No one cares to mess around here due to small income money, we aren't popular, and the water is cleaner than most.

60%? And they just do that without a public vote or anything?
They wanted to try to raise the sales tax and gasoline tax here by something like 0.25% and that didn't pass with the voters.
On that note, consider Tennessee. We don't have income tax on anything but stock returns and dividends but our sales tax is 9%. We have a "use tax" on some online purchases which is ridiculous but I don't expect anyone actually pays it. Give and take I suppose.

I'm from Michigan and wouldn't ever want to go back there but it has it's positives. As for your tax, have you looked at the actual bill? 60% is kind of huge and I don't think it would pass without some positives.
