Chapter 1
Anna Bell looked into her mother's face and almost slapped her.
"If you don't want me here, you can just tell me, instead of yelling and treating me like I'm some kind of freak," Anna Bell said, calmly. She knew that it would make her mother even angrier to act like nothing was going on. But she also knew that it was the best solution to dealing with the crazy women she called 'Mom.'
"Don't you get?" Her mother yelled, "No one wants you around. You're a freak of nature!" Anna Bell shrugged and turned away. She didn't want her mother to see her cry.
It was true, about her being a freak. Anna Bell had been born half-human and half-Eevee, a kind of Pokemon, that was found in the wild. All kinds of different scientists did test on her, to see what had caused this kind of thing to happen. They decided to give her back to her mother at the age of two, so they could observe her. Even now, cameras were recording the fight between daughter and mother.
Anna Bell had been told that the scientists were now experimenting on others, to see if they could make it happen again. To be half-Pokemon was a honor, they had said. All different kinds of combination's of chemicals had been given to pregnant mothers, and Anna Bell had been notified when the second half-Human half-Pokemon had been born. A boy named Cody. Anna Bell had been told that he was half-Luxio.
They had never met.
Composing herself, Anna Bell turned back towards her mother. She glared, walked past her, up the stairs, and into her room. Despite being the most hated person in the family, her mother had given her the biggest room. Probably so the scientists watching her wouldn't accuse her of being mistreated. even though she was. Anna Bell's mother followed.
"Honey?" Anna Bell heard behind her, "I'm sorry for what I said. I didn't mean it. It's just so stressful," Anna Bell didn't tun around. "Please forgive me. Hug your mother."
Anna Bell rolled her eyes. She didn't believe it. She took a suitcase out of her closet. She then went over top her grand dresser and opened one of the drawers. She started shoving clothes into it. Anna Bell knew that she had to run away. She couldn't stand another day like this.
"I've finally done it," her mother said, starting to cry, "They told me not to be too harsh. They warned me something like this would happen. And I didn't listen. Please don't run away, Anna, please. I'm so sorry."
Anna Bell had almost believed her, until her mother had just said 'Anna.' That was the "human" part of her name. Her mother had always loved that name. She got 'Bell' because her mother had always wanted to have a Vaporeon, and she would've named her Bell. And her mother always refused to say Bell. Refused to acknowledge her Vaporeon side. Anna Bell kept packing.
Fifteen minutes later, Anna Bell was done. Her mother had left the room, crying. She almost felt sorry for her. Almost.
And why should see? The last twelve years flashed before her eyes. It had started at three. The abuse. Her mother shoving her in a closet whenever company came over. Separating her from her brother. "Forgetting" to make enough breakfast for her. Being forced to clean the entire house in under thirty minutes, then beating her when she couldn't finish the work in time.
Anna Bell's anger took over. She kicked a book. When it landed, a picture came out. She walked over and bent down. Her brother. Her brother Simon. The only one who had loved her. She picked up the picture and slipped in her pocket. Then she opened the window and leaped out into the night, using her catlike qualities to land unharmed on the grassy lawn.
