Maisha...had never been outside of the pride before. As such, the young adult was NERVOUS. Very nervous. How did one go about being a rogue? He knew how to hunt. And he knew, very well, how to protect himself. And he was generally a very charming, friendly guy! But...well, he'd always been someplace familiar. This was definitely NOT familiar. In fact, it started getting even LESS familiar as he went. Mai made a rather pathetic noise and flopped onto the grass, under the sparse shade of a scrubby tree.

Not even a week and he was already homesick. How pathetic was he? But...he NEEDED to make this journey, to try and find the place he belonged.

Even she was quite bored. The young Rogue had been wandering again, and she moved towards a watering hole, lowering her head to drink. It wasn't until a rustle that she noted.....There was another around. Glancing over her shoulder, her tail flicked, and she smiled. Wasn't he cute. Probably just newly an adult. Moving towards the other, she tipped her head to the side, "You okay? You seem a bit down and out, sweeite."

Mai looked up, tail flopping behind him. "Eh? Oh! Heh...sorry. Just...homesick." He smiled slightly. She seemed a very nice lady! (And her coloring was all wrong for a demon.) "This is my first time out in the rogue lands, so I'm...not entirely certain of what to do."

She smiled calmly, "Ah. You're new out here. I wish I could say I understood the homesick part, but since I never really had a 'home' to begin with, Eh." She smiled at him, tipping her head, "Would you like a bit of instruction on what to do here in the rogue lands, sweetie? I could help. I'm Jukwa'Lililokuwa."

Mai blinked. So...she was rogue-born. His smile grew a little though. "Some help would be nice, yes. I'm used to hunting and guarding a single area...but I'm in search of something, so I can't really settle in one place out here." He pushed himself up so he was sitting. "My name's Maisha. A pleasure to meet you, Miss Jukwa'Lililokuwa!" A mouthful of a name, but very pretty!

The female chuckled, "Maisha. Pretty name. You may call me Jukwa if you wish." Looking out to the watering hole, she thought, "Trying to find something, are you? Well, the best way to do so, would be to know the layout of this area, at least." Looking back to him, she gestured with a paw, "That's the closest watering hole, for at least a day..." Laying down, she purred, "The easiest thing to do is start adapting to the different types of prey and environment."

Mai nodded. "Not really 'something' so much as 'somewhere' and 'someone'." He listened to her advice carefully, though, nodding as he filed it away for remembrance. "How do I adapt?" He looked sheepish. "Sorry if the question sounds stupid but...as I said, I'm used to one area with the same types of prey." He felt like a Tarajali again.

She laughed, tossing her head a bit, "You need to be able to allow yourself to just eat what you can. I've learned that solo, it can be kinda hard to take down larger prey. I often prefer going after smaller prey. It makes it easier, when there's only one of you."

"I...have noticed that." He smiled sheepishly. "I almost learned that one the hard way. I'm rather glad I managed to avoid getting gored." He shivered. If THAT had happened, he certainly wouldn't be around to find what he was looking for. "What other tips might you give me?"

She grinned a bit, "Well, make sure that you keep near a watering hole, when you do rest." Her tail flicked back and forth, and she kept purring, "And know how to find trees to rest under. It can get really hot, very....very quickly." Closing black eyes, the female thought for a second, "If you're hungry right now, we could hunt together."

Mai perked and nodded. "If you wouldn't mind. It would certainly take care of both our bellies for a bit." And it would give him a chance to hunt with company again. He missed joining the Msasi for hunts. He really did. "What sort of prey do you like, Jukwa?"

She looked out, over the watering hole, and gestured at one of the larger Zebras she saw. Purring, she stood to her paws, "That Zebra right there. He's old, and would taste quite good, and fill us for a while. It would be worth the challenge."

The leopon nodded, standing as well. "Sounds like a good idea." He'd never had zebra before! It promised to be a new and interesting taste! "So how shall we go about this? One in hiding, waiting to spring while the other herds him? Or both of us sneak up and go for vitals?"

Jukwa thought, tipping her head, and letting her body press low. Slinking forwards, she whispered, "Wait here. I'll do the herding." Slinking forwards close to the creature, she watched it for a moment, before charging it, snarling, and herding it towards Mai.

Mai nodded and crouched to wait, keeping an eye on Juwka and the zebra. As they came closer, he tensed his muscles, ready to spring. He couldn't screw up on this...he'd never taken a zebra before. When they were close enough...he sprung, glad for his large size as he sunk his fangs into the zebras neck, looking to crush its spine and windpipe.

She, in turn, bit at its heels, crippling one leg as she sunk her teeth into the bone, crushing it. Chewing for a second, as they felled it, she purred happily. "We got her down easily. That's a good thing." Backing away from the creature, she looked over it. That would feed them well. Leaning in, she took a bite, slowly, savoring it, "Mmm..."

Mai nodded. A good hunt, and good company to share the victory with! And the zebra WAS very tasty, he discovered as he bit in. Mmmm...zebra was officially his favorite prey ever. For when he had someone to help him. "Thank you, for the advice and the hunt."

She nodded happily, "Of course, I enjoyed it as well. I've been dying for a good hunt anyways." Eating slowly, she enjoyed the taste of the food, the first REAL kill she'd had in weeks, "I'm glad you enjoyed."
