…Classes in Wincanther

There are five classes you may choose for your character in Wincanther. These may selected regardless of species, though of course some races will be more likely to gravitate to certain classes above others should one operate in observation to the lore. Read each carefully before choosing. Each class has a strength, as well as a drawback, and some have boons for certain races above others. This is not to say, however, that you cannot make a Fae warrior or a Taur magician- just do not expect him to have a tremendously easy time of things, dear Wincantherian! His challenges will be numerous.

• Common Question: Can I choose a class not on the list, such as a Ninja?
Yes, and no. A class is an umbrella term. Select the class that best describes your characters' combative style. For a Ninja, one might consider it closest to Rogue, and you may provide a unique label in this case, ie: Rogue/ Ninja. This is quite acceptable. Though, do keep it sensible, please. We don't particularly want a slew of Mage/Banana Harvesters.

Mage
Mage
The Mage, who rocks the skies with clash of lightning and thunder, who rends the woods with swathes of flame, who raises hand and raises havoc by calling the very forces of the sea itself to tear his enemies asunder. The Mage focuses on magic, and it is from here he draws his combative strength. A sharp mind helps a Mage greatly. Far and away, the best race for magical pursuits is the Fae. Lyre have some potential in this class, and Human will never be exceptional but do possess some skill. Lycan will have some trouble, and a Taur mage is a sad, sad thing indeed.

Abilities:
Magic, Healing Magics, and magics that affect groups. Mages make for a good team member.

Weapons: Staves and Magic Books
Armour: Robes and Cloaks

Items: Magic restorative potion

Warrior
Warrior
Keep your wits about you, lest a swiftly-swung sword splits the marriage twixt your head and shoulders. The Warrior is a powerful thing and a force to be reckoned with, a master of short-range combat and tends not to shy from shrugging off a few blows. His fearsome roar has been known to clear entire battlefields. A warrior Taur is a force to be reckoned with and strikes fear into the heart of many a man. A Lycan may hold his own, and a jack-of-all-trades Human can cut a respectable shadow. Lyre need to keep their fragility in mind, and Fae warriors tend to lead short lives that evoke much laughter from their enemies.

Abilities: Heavy physical, damage-dealing skills

Weapons: Axes, Maces, Swords
Armour: Shields, Heavy Armour

Items: Only Common Items

Rogue
Rogue
He bounds from the shadows, and is gone again in a flash, just the barest scratch on your cheek- yet your vision wanes, as the Rogue has brought his deadly poison upon you. The Humans' meld of skills comes in handy for this class, as does the Lyres' agility bode him well should he fight under guise of cloak and dagger. A Lycan can just as well hold his own. Fae have the cunning, but not the endurance to shine in such a role, and a Taur trying to hide anywhere tends to be a rather embarrassing affair for the quadrupedal would-be assailant.

Abilities: Effect Magics, and Stealth Skills

Weapons: Throwing Daggers/Stars, Daggers
Armour: Cloaks, Leathers, Bracers

Items: Many damage-inducing items, as well as plenty of items to heal themselves with.

Archer
Archer
An Archer may best you without you ever laying eye on him at all- your last vision a zipping bolt of wood with feathers twitching in the breeze at the aft end as the fore plunges into your chest. Lycan and Lyre are the best archers in Wincanther, with their combination of mobility, knowledge of the land in the case of Lycan, and ability to strike from the sky in the Lyre. Taur may attempt this class, but are likely not to be the greatest in the land- and likewise the Human, those preferring technology such as guns more than bows and arrows. Fae similarly would see such a class disadvantageous, and snobbishly call it pointless to boot.

Abilities: Many Skills that deal double damage.

Weapons: Crossbows, Bow, Arrows
Armour: Light Armour

Items: Only Common Items

Gunner
Gunner
Gunners make use of technology the most out of any of the classes, staking their very lives on complex handguns and rifles more than a trusty sword and shield, or magical spell. Humans in this class are the best of the best, their mental acuity combining with their ability to think outside the box creating clever and accurate gunmen. Lycan are the second-best in this class, their lifetimes alongside Humans giving them the time to learn the craft. Lyre, with their ability to fly, will also have some skill should they choose this pursuit. Fae are more likely to snub the weapon entirely. Do not even bother offering a gun to a Taur. He will probably snap it in a rage, then regale you for hours about how it is an affront to the Gods.

Abilities: Heavy hitting, Double-damage skills with some miss rates. Almost useless without a gun.
Weapons: Guns and Rifles
Armour: Light Armour, Bracers, Robes- Can wear almost all armours

Items: Only Common Items
