I have a thing for Michael Cera and I don't even like the scrawny ones. I love how it's like a video game. If the Mario Brothers live action movie had been like that, it would have gotten a much better reception.
My favorite character is Knives, which ironically enough a friend of mine wanted me to name one of my characters Knives and she hadn't seen the movie.
"Name him Knives."
"Like the chic in Scott Pilgrim?"
"I HAVEN'T SEEN IT DON'T TELL ME-- wait, there's a CHIC is named Knives? That's BADASS!"

I liked the graphic novels better, but the movie was great! I actually think Cera did a great job as Scott.

I really wanted to like the movie, but it failed miserably to entertain me. As an avid gamer, I thought maybe it would grow onto me, but it didn't. And the plot? What plot? Oh right, fighting 7 evil exs to date a girl... It was just far too thrown together without a hint of coherent thought, in my opinion.
All in all, I was disappointed. Before watching it, I had heard great and wonderful things about it, so I truly expected something awesome. What I got was a poorly plotted movie with gaming references. I appreciated the references, but it wasn't enough to make me love it.
