 Techno made her way down the side of a hill. She had been traveling for days just to see one of her old friends. Why she was going this far to see him she had no idea. The whole thing was just one big mess. Some how he had gotten the impression that she liked him. How he got that idea she didn't know. She had told the guy countless times she wasn't interested. It seemed like the guy wouldn't take the hint.
The bird he had sent with a message told her he wanted to see her. Well she would see him alright... see him and get the stupid idea out of his head that she liked him. Don't get her wrong... the guy was a good guy but there was no way she was interested in him that way. She stopped for a moment when she got clear of some trees and looked up at the sky.
"Oh don't you even think about it..." She glared at the sky that seemed to be filling up with clouds... clouds that just might bring rain.

 Shen was stretched out on a moderately large branch, taking a little nap. It was nice up here, and out of the way of annoying creatures that walked the forest floor. An annoyed female voice rudely cut through his slumbers, that and a suddenly cooler breeze.
His head popped up and he blinked a few times, then yawned largely. Looking down with eyes still slightly bleared with sleep, he spotted a strange vixen that was probably the source of his wake-up call. For a moment he just contemplated her with a lazy-sleepy-irritated expression. He wasn't known for being a morning person.
"Oi," he called, yawning again. "Can't you take your grumbling somewhere else? You ruined a perfectly good nap."

Just as she was about to sit down to contemplate if she wanted to go any farther or take a rest a voice hit her. The voice came from somewhere above her and sounded annoyed. She would have just ignored him of it hadn't been for his comment. She comically glared then glanced up above her to where she spotted a male lying lazily on a branch above her. She gave him the vary same annoyed look as her tail flicked.
"Excuse me? Where do you get off blaming me for waking you up? Look around you. You not exactly in the right place to take a nap."

"Eh," came the intelligble reply. Okay, maybe not a reply so much as just an exhaled gust of air that was too light to be called a sigh. Females, really. Why were they just an argumentative bunch? Such a drag...
"Maybe you come from some flatlands, but around here it's perfectly normal to sleep up in tree." Shen's tone was utterly bored. Really, why should he get all worked up for something pointless anyway? He didn't feel like going into a lecture about the benefits of sleeping in trees as opposed to ground. Not that he even slept in trees all that often, actually, since most of the time he just couldn't be bothered to do more than flop down when he got tired.

"Perfectly normal? Really?" Techno almost wanted to laugh at his remark. "For your information i don't come from the flatlands. I live near here." Her tail whipped through the air. "And in all my years i've never seen any kind of fox sleep in a tree... let alone climb one."
Of course she had seen other foxes climb trees but those had been kits. Kits who don't weigh a thing and could make their was up a trunk. A full grown fox however... she had seen foolish foxes try to climb and end up falling and hurting themselves or worse. So in her opinion... climbing a tree to take a nape was foolish.

"And I thought I was lazy," Shen drawled. He glanced upwards at the sky, though always made sure to keep the female in his periferal. Something about her nature made him think that if she got pissed even this tree wouldn't be enough to save him. Tch, what a troublesome woman.
"Least up here there's nothing not much that can reach you to harm ya. Better than sleeping on piles of damp leaves too, after it rains," he added in an offhand way. There weren't any rock caves nearby, and unless the female was half mole there was no way she could build a den herself to stay dry. Hanging out under the leaves and branches was a lot less of a bother.

"I am by no means lazy." She stood her ground with the male. For some reason it really irritated her about the way he spoke to her. for some reason he made it sound like she was a moron... And she didn't like it one bit. "Unlike you who hide yourself in a tree away from harms way, im not scared to get down and dirty." She tilted her head up as her ears went down and her tail whipped. "I also have no problem taking on anyone who dare mess with me." she had hoped that was a warning to the male that she didn't like his tone.

Shen yawned, looking utterly bored. Which was about how he felt anyway. The male didn't have much of a poker face except when he was strategizing something, and then that wasn't a poker face so much as just his look of concentration. "Whatever," he replied, tone on par with his facial expression.
He strugged, feeling the bark pull lightly at his fur, and his expression was now lazy and bored. "It's too troublesome to agrue with females, they'll just keep at it all day until they win, even though their points get more and more ridiculous as they try to find validation." His tone never changed the whole time and it was clear that, while rude, what he was saying was what he believed and not being put out for malicious reasons.

Techno made a funny face when he yawned again. He seemed to do that allot. He was ether tired or getting sick of her not that she really cared. She had better things to do.
"I'll tell you whats troublesome... listening to you talk." At that point a cold breeze ran through her fur letting her know that she should probably get going. "I have better things to do." She turned her back to the male to begin her journey once again.

Shen just shrugged and flopped back down on his branch, eyes cast towards the sky. 'Che, girls are such a pain. Why do I even put up with them. I mean geez, Mom was so freakin' scary all the time I don't see why Dad mated with her. That female's of the same cut, betcha she's always arguing and even gets violent when she thinks she's losing, and probably overconfident to boot.
Shen's thoughts were just as lazy as his words though, and he didn't really dwell on them for long. He had suppress another yawn, and watched the multi-colored back of the vixen retreat. 'Well, not like it affects me or anything. I'll probably never run into her again.' With that last comforting thought he slowly began to drift back into a dosing state.

"Males..." She shook her head as she padded along the grassy trail. 'Just who was that guy any way' She found herself wondering. Why? She had no idea not that she cared. He was gone and out of her life. She only had one thing to worry about and that was crossing the open terrain that was in front of her. She had already gone over the dangers of traveling along through the open space but it wasn't like she had anyone to keep her company. It was the fastest way to where she needed to go.
She managed to make it a good distance until she stopped. The reason she stopped was cause she could smell rain on the wind. Not only rain it would seem an entire storm was coming. Looking up she noticed she was right. Just as she looked up thunder sounded through the sky that shook the ground.
"Just perfect..."

'Looks like it's gonna rain pretty hard,' Shen thought, looking up at the sky. 'Bet that female gets soaking wet. It'll serve her right, thinking she knows everything.' That was all the better for him never seeing her again, since girls tended to get so darn violent and weepy when they'd been proven wrong. Shen, meanwhile, would stay pretty much dry. He'd get hungry probably, but it wasn't like prey was out and about when it was raining anyway.

Techno sighed as another clap of thunder sounded followed by a flash of lightning. After that she could hear what sounded like a water all and knew what was coming. The rain. She closed her eyes as she was hit with a wave of tiny drops of water. With in seconds her coat was soaked. She couldn't believe all the bad luck she had had. Shaking her fur she tried to at least rid herself of some of the heavy weight of the water. That didn't do so well.
Finally she decided to just forget about how heavy her coat was and turn tail. She started to make her way back the way she had come. It was her only option. Coat heavy and thunder sounding she dug her paws into the muddy ground below her and managed to make it back to the cover of the forest panting and gasping.

The rain was coming down much harder now, but Shen had chosen his nap spot well. The tree was a big one, with thick branches, and he was resting on one high enough to be a reasonable distance from the ground yet low enough to have more thick branches overhead. Not that he wasn't getting at least a little wet, but it was a damp that would quickly dry up.
That was about when he caught sight of the female slinking back through some of the trees, and heaved a small sigh. Hopefully she wasn't coming back here, and would just stop at the first big tree she saw to sit out the rain. He really didn't want to deal with the troublesome nagging she would dish out.

After making her way through the rough open terrain she managed to make it back to the cover of the forest. Ears down she looked back out over the area and watched as the rain came down hard. It was also accompanied by thunder, wind, and lightning in the distance. She sighed as she looked down. She was hoping that she would be able to beat the storm. She trotted to a near tree that was close to the one the male was in. Of course she didn't say a word as she walked, her fur and paws making a sloshing noise.
