This will be your main RP emporium! The Hogwarts castle is open for all RPs that take place inside the castle grounds. Anything in the forest or anywhere NOT in Hogwarts doesn't belong in this forum. End your RP in this area and make a new board in the appropriate forum. This is the best way to keep things from getting too confusing.

If you start a RP in the wrong place, PM the mule and it'll be moved/deleted as needed. No need to panic!

Moving on, here are some of the lovely areas you can RP in here in Hogwarts, for your reference:

Below Ground Level:
xxxxxDungeons -- Brr, it's a lot colder down here.
xxxxxPotions Classroom -- Try not to blow up this square, large classroom with your brews!
xxxxxPotions Basement -- Please do not come into this room without a teacher's permission! A trap door in the potions classroom reveals this area.
xxxxxPotion Mixing Room -- For when you need to practice, or finish up some potions homework.
xxxxxHead of Slytherin's Office -- You're probably only here when you're in trouble.
xxxxxKitchens -- Located directly under the Great Hall with a giant portrait as a door. Tickle the pear to reveal the doorknob.
xxxxxBoathouse -- There's only a couple entrances to this boat storage area. Try not to use them.

Ground Level:
xxxxxEntrance Halls -- The main entrance area of Hogwarts. Large door to the right lead to the Great Hall.
xxxxxChamber of Reception -- This is a small building before the entrance hall, where first years wait before the feast starts.
xxxxxGreat Hall -- The Main gathering area of the school. Food, yum! Oh, and get your mail here, too.
xxxxxStaffroom -- Off limits to students!
xxxxxCaretaker's Office -- I hear that guy is really creepy. Best to avoid this place.
xxxxxTransfiguration Classroom -- Change one thing into another! Just... try to get it right, otherwise, you'll be drinking from a furry cup.

First Floor:
xxxxxHistory of Magic Classroom -- Oh Merli- is this class over yet?!
xxxxxMuggle Studies Classroom -- Another boring, but needed classroom. Do try to pay attention, Slytherins.
xxxxxHospital Wing -- Have an ouchie? This place will make you feel better in no time!
xxxxxNurse's Office -- Can't find the nurse in the hospital wing? Check this adjacent room.
xxxxxGryffindor Head's Office -- Another room you'll only see if you're in trouble.
xxxxxTapestry Corridor -- Lots of portraits judging you down this hallway. Spooky.
xxxxxGirl's Restroom -- TIME OUT. Need a potty break.

Second Floor:
xxxxxMoaning Myrtle's Bathroom -- What? A student was killed here? Let's move on.
xxxxxDAtDA Professor's Office -- That means Defense Against the Dark Arts. It was a long word.

Third Floor:
xxxxxCharms Classroom -- For charms! What... what is the purpose of charms, again?
xxxxxTrophy Room -- The worst place to be if you have detention. That's a lot of awards to clean!
xxxxxLibrary -- This is actually located on the third and fourth floors. You'll be spending plenty of time here, I'm sure.
xxxxxDAtDA Classroom -- This large classroom is where you learn all your fancy anti-death magic.

Fourth Floor:
xxxxxRestricted Section -- The area of the library on the fourth floor. No going in there!
xxxxxHistory of Magic Professor's Office -- Have you been naughty again? Need help in a boring class? Come here!

Fifth Floor:
xxxxxPrefect's Bathroom -- For prefects. Obviously.
xxxxxArt Classroom -- This is where magical and muggle art classes are taught.
xxxxxMusic Classroom -- Where magic and muggle music mingle majestically.

Sixth Floor:
xxxxxBoy's Restroom -- Why do boys have to go so much higher to tinkle?!
xxxxxStudy of Ancient Runes Classroom -- What the hell is a rune and why do I have to study it? Is this, like, wizard math?

Seventh Floor:
xxxxxRavenclaw Head's Office -- This office doesn't seem as big as the others, but it has all a person needs.
xxxxxArithmancy Classroom -- Now THIS is wizard math, isn't it? You nerds- learn something more entertaining.
xxxxxDivination Classroom -- Because you know you want to learn how your life is going to end. Climb to this attic-like room to become all-knowing
xxxxxDivination Professor's Office -- Because crazy had to set up shop somewhere.

Towers:
xxxxxAstronomy Tower -- The tallest tower in Hogwarts. This is normally off-bounds outside of classes.
xxxxxHeadmaster's Tower -- Home of the headmaster. I'm not sure you ever want to be here.
xxxxxWest Tower -- This is where you'll find the owlry. It can get very cold


Naturally, all these areas also have various empty classrooms, bathrooms, corridors, offices, staircases, courtyards, towers, class wings and halls you can use as you see fit. Not everything takes place in a particular room! There are plenty of other areas mentioned in the book that aren't included here, because they were small or I forgot about them.

Please note that this is an ALTERNATE REALITY roleplay, and as such not everything will be exactly like it is in the books. Hopefully, though, most of these areas are in the right place. (A couple areas are from video games/the movies, because I liked them.)
