Rules
& general things to keep in mind when you're role-playing


ALL rules from the main shop apply.

♦ Gaia ToS applies. PG-13! Violence and Swearing are acceptable within those boundaries, so make sure you know what you can and can't get away with.

♦ If you are roleplaying your character with the intent on growing it then you must create a journal and post this character sheet for each character you create. Remember, currently we are only allowing one journal per player.

♦ Characters may only be played by the owners of that character or registered mule. All mule's must be registered here before they can be used for play. Mules are not mandatory, so please don't feel the need to make one.

♦ Anything staff deems too "mature" for general roleplay will be addressed accordingly. We understand that people have varying tastes when it comes to subject matter, but no matter what you do with your character, be respectful. Please remember that there may be real, live counterparts out there who do not always appreciate their issues being represented as a spectacle. We only ask you to be mindful; if staff receives complaints about your character and deem their behavior inappropriate, you will be contacted.

♦ Keep chat-speak out of RPs. Your character will not say "brb" your content shouldn't include "u" as a substitute for "you."

♦ RPs should consist of more than one line each post. While we understand when you just can't think of anything to say, we don't want to see it happening all the time.

♦ Refrain from super small, or super bright, fonts, if only because people are expected to READ your post in order to respond to it.

♦ RPs should be carried out in third-person, past tense. "He went to the Owlry". First person might be acceptable in certain situations, like dream sequences or recounts of past events.

♦ As standard with most RPs, no taking control of other characters without permission, and no completely desperate characters. No character deaths are permitted without good reason and permission from a monitoring staff member.

♦ Your character is not the best at every spell, potion and class that comes along. Everyone has faults, even the smartest among us.

♦ Your character can NOT know spells beyond his/her grade. A first year would not know wandless spells, but may accidentally have something happen. Nor may they know anything terribly complicated! If you are having trouble figuring out what spells they might and might not know, please feel free to PM someone about it or ask in thread!

♦ Keep OOC problems out of the role-play. If you have a problem with one of the RPs/RPers, don't make a show in the thread. Please PM a staff member to deal with the situation. Fighting is not a great way to get what you want.

♦ No massive plots that alter the main story of the plot. If you really think your story might be amazing, but might interfere with things, PM a staff member to get the okay. Normal plots between one or two characters, however, do not need to be cleared.

♦ Remember you are in the Harry Potter world! That means most muggle items aren't allowed in the castle. Electronics DO NOT WORK at Hogwarts. At all. So don't use them.

♦ Be a nice RPer - make sure you help move the plot along just as much as your partner in each post. Don't leave all the work to someone else! It'll be boring that way.
