"Daddy? Can we go in there? Smells good!" Seth asked, flashing the man a grin as he clung to his shirt. Being cold out, his usual perch on the man's shoulders was less comfortable than he preferred. The cold wind and lack of warmth annoyed him greatly, though the change in position just annoyed the man even further on their trips. Guess there was no pleasing both parties in such an event.
"Sure. Sweet chee-Oh god. I suppose..." Damon muttered, sighing at the name of the bakery. Some people just had to be weird, he supposed. Really freaking weird some days. Opening the door of the shop, the two stepped inside and looked around as the naga slipped down to the floor. "Ooh... Smells really good in here," he commented with a huge grin.

Inside the bakery, there was chaos. The front room was decidedly empty, and shouting could be heard from the back room. "Weeeee!" a little girl's voice yelled, the type of excited yelp that almost always meant said child was in big trouble once they were caught, which was confirmed by the follow-up shout, undoubtedly from an exasperated parent.
"Kana! How many times do I have to tell you?!? Get down from the ceiling!"
The backroom of Sweet Cheeks Delights, where all of the baking took place, was in an uproar, and all because of one small girl. Said child had wedged herself in the corner of the room, hands gripping the ceiling and her feet just barely touching the top of one of the shelving units. Kana giggled and let go, scrambling down to the floor and darting out to the front of the shop, barely managing to skid to a stop in front of the new customers.
"Ooooh! Hello! New people! You look tasty!" she said, waving enthusiastically with all four arms, while six golden eyes stared at the snake-boy and his parent. Moments after her, a curvy-but-not-hefty woman in her late twenties to early thirties darted out of the back room, stopping to catch her breath when she saw that the sound of the bell over the door had not been her wayward spider-child escaping, but instead possible customers entering.

Damon couldn't help but chuckle softly at the distressed sounds from the back and the girl that came scrambling out to meet them. "Hi to you too," he replied, offering a knowing smile to the woman that followed the girl moments later. "She yours?" he asked, already knowing the answer before she could even answer.
Seth stared at the girl, wide eyed. She was so... unique looking. Never had he seen someone with SIX eyes, or four arms! And her hair was such a pretty red color... "Hi. M' Seth. Who you?" Apparently, in his shock at seeing her he had yet to truly process what she had said to him.

"Yes, she's mine," Paulie said, pushing strands of dark hair out of her eyes as she grabbed the spider-child by one of her flailing hands to keep her from running away. The violet-eyed shop owner smiled at Damon, just the slightest hint of a twinkle in her eyes. "Just ... how would you put it? Received her about a week ago. We're still adjusting," she said, feeling that it was unnecessary to say what, exactly, the duo was adjusting to.
Kana giggled and twisted around like a wind chime in a gale, spinning nearly in circles as she peered at the snake-boy from all possible angles, golden eyes taking in everything about the older child. "My name's Kana! You have no legs! Can I taste you?" She said rapidly, bouncing on her toes and almost falling over from the motion. "You look r'lly r'lly tasty, mister Seth! Can I taste you to see? Huh? Huh huh huh?!?"

Damon laughed, understanding EXACTLY what she meant. Flashing her a knowing smile, he gently nudged Seth closer and away from his leg. The boy was sweet, yes, but oddly shy when not perched on someone's shoulders. "I know the feeling. Had to go through that with my first... Er, adopted child. It'll get easier, trust me," he replied, running a hand through his hair casually. Oh yeah, he was definitely going to flirt with her. And why not? He had nothing better to do and it wasn't like Seth actively ran off anywhere or moved faster than a brisk walk. "I'm Damon, and you are?"
Seth blinked, head tilting curiously. "Taste... me? What? And you have six eyes," he pointed out, still incredibly confused about what she had asked. She acted JUST like Ily almost. Hyper, constantly moving and expending valuable energy like it was a never-ending supply.

"Yep! Taste you!" Kana said, giggling upon not hearing a 'no' from the strange snakey-boy's mouth and pounced, biting onto his arm and drawing blood almost immediately,wrapping all of hr arms around the older child as she did so. Nearly as quickly, Paulie was there, pulling the vampiric spider-child off of Seth with a resounding "No! Kana, we do NOT taste CUSTOMERS!" The woman ganced at Damon with wide, wild green eyes, even as she pinned the wriggling spider-girl securely under one arm.
"I am so so so so sorry!" she said, bandages that lined her own arms becoming visible as she moved. "I'll get the first aid kit, if - if you'll let me... I am so sorry!" she repeated again, looking like she was about to either faint or haul her daughter off upstairs for the punishment of a lifetime.

Seth squeaked as Kana leaped forward and, while hugging him, bit his arm hard enough to draw blood. Instantly he froze, shocked into silence at the very idea of what was happening. Unfortunately, his father didn't help matters as he burst into roaring laughter. "He's fine, don't worry," Damon replied, doubled over in his amusement. What exactly was so funny, Seth hadn't a clue. His purple eyes were focused intensely on where he had been bitten, wiping away the blood to reveal mostly healed skin.
"Issok. Can I have band-aide? Ooh! D'you have the kind with pictures on them?" Seth asked curiously, somehow completely over the entire ordeal and causing Damon to laugh even harder. It was only when he was fixated with a unamused purple stare did the man even bother to stifle his giggles and even attempt at catching his breath.
"S-sorry. It's... It's ok. Seriously. Sorry for laughing it's just... " Damon stopped, coughing a bit only to chuckle and shake his head. For once he was incredibly happy Seth was what he was. Healing quickly and lazy enough to never really find the energy to hold a grudge, the kid was pretty good at bouncing back from injuries. "I remember a similar time, though I had bruises and cuts instead of bite marks. She's cute," he finally finished, that amused little smile plastered on his face. He'd have to visit the bakery more often.

Instantly calmed by the visitor's... unusual reactions, Pauli dropped Kana with a look that clearly said 'don't do it again', and rolled her eyes. "Phew~! And here I thought I was gonna have to deal with another lawsuit!" The green-eyed baker shook her head and ran a hand through her purple-streaked hair with a weak laugh. "That's the third time this week I've had to pull her off of someone - and most people don't take it nearly as well as you two did."
Meanwhile, unfazed by being dropped like a sack of potatoes, Kana crawled over to Seth and peered at him curiously, no longer interested in biting him and much more curious about him as a person than a snack - for the moment, at least. "You have a snake-butt," she said, blinking all six eyes curiously.

Damon grinned. "Lawsuit? Psh, nah. No harm done, though I can understand that some people might not understand as well as you or I," he replied, attempting to find a band-aide for Seth as he rummaged around in his pocket. "Here kiddo, knock yourself out. So, you've had her for a week now? What's her combo, exactly? I assume she's from a facility by the name of Sevens or something," he continued, not even skipping a beat as Seth took the bandage and happily put it on.
"I do have a snake butt. You have six eyes," Seth replied, grinning widely at the little pictures of snakes on his band-aide. Damon knew him so well, it almost made getting bitten by Kana worth it. Almost. Then again, why was he caring so much anyways?

Paulie nodded, reaching down to rest a hand on top of Kana's head. "Yep, she's from that place. I don't know much about it, they just dropped her off without much talking. But who'm I to complain, she's a good kid in her own way..." It was obvious in the woman's words just how much she truly cared for her unexpected child. "Life was starting to get pretty boring until she showed up," the baker added, green eyes glinting with humor.
Kana nodded and started chewing mildly on her fingers. "Uh-huh, I have six eyes. You have feathers on your head."

"Ah, I know the feeling. They've given me two kids already," Damon replied with a soft laugh. "Still, like you've already said, they can be pretty interesting. No two are ever alike even if they share parents and whatnot," he added, glancing down at the two. "Makes for an interesting way of life I suppose." And what an interesting life he had with them. Total opposite kids living under one roof without tearing the other apart. It was, needless to say, strange.
Seth blinked and tilted his head. "I do. You have four arms," he replied, stating the obvious just as she was. Snake and spider child, under one roof. It was like the two species were meeting for the first time.

Paulie winked at the other parent, a smile spreading across her face that had nothing to do with the antics of the children and everything to do with the fact that the man in front of her was very, very handsome and prime flirting material! "True, but life is always interesting for me," she drawled softly, green eyes sparkling with naughty mischief. "Can I get you anything while you're here?" And by anything, she meant anything.
Kana giggled, covering her mouth with two of her hands and rocking back and forth on her mismatched-socked feet. "Hee, you have a forked tongue!"

Seth flicked out his tongue and giggled. "I do. You have red hair," he replied, a wide grin spreading across his face like wildfire. At the mention of buying from Kana's mom, his attention briefly snapped up to Damon. "Cookies! Sugar cookies! Pwwweeeeaaaasssee?" he begged, giggling as the man sighed and nodded, shooing the boy off.
"Anything you say? Hm, I'm apparently in need of some sugar cookies and if you truly mean anything..." Damon replied, a sly smirk dominating his features. Hey, SHE started flirting with him first. Sure he was laying it on a little strong for a first time meeting but damn she was hot. Those skinny-assed models reminded him of stick bugs with boobs but Paulie... She had curves. She was a real woman and a hot one at that. "Come, let's go talk elsewhere. I'm sure the kids won't run off anytime soon," he added with a wink.

Kana giggled again, clapping two of her hands over her mouth as she realized something that was, to her toddler-mind, absolutely scandalous. "You're NAKED! she shrieked, falling backwards onto her rear, helpless giggles escaping her mouth.
Oh, now this sounded promising to Paulie, and she grinned, walking behind the counter long enough to pull out an entire tray of sugar cookies for the kids. "Consider those on the house," she said with a wink and a smile. "Should keep the kids occupied, and there aren't enough there to make them sick," the woman added, switching the open sign to 'closed', just in case someone decided to come shopping.
"Let's go, shall we?" And she gestured to the back of the shop, where a staircase that led to the upper living area could be just barely made out.

Damon smirked, already knowing Seth could eat probably the entire tray and be just fine. Sloth children were definitely weird, being able to put away that much sugar without too many side effects. "We shall," he replied, gesturing for her to take the lead and following her moments later.
Seth couldn't help but laugh as well, suddenly realizing this as well. "I am!" he giggled, finding it also horribly amusing. Being able to go around naked was suddenly the awesomest thing ever to him.
"Oh! Cookies!" Suddenly noticing the tray that had been set out, the naga moved over to try and grab one and falling horribly short. Curses, and here he was hoping he wouldn't have to stretch himself out to reach the treats their no longer present guardian's had left out. Pouting, the naga child uncoiled and stretched himself out and up as best as he could, finally juuuuuust reaching the delicious cookies.
