Talim was not usually one who would spend her time in a place like a library. She was more with the times and any information that she could not find on google was now worth knowing. Her usual haunts included coffee shops, game stores and the occasional bar. So what was she doing in a library? Well she was actually meeting someone here, someone quite important. It seemed odd that she was going to meet her potential teacher as Tali instead of Trona, she wondered how he was going to recognise her or how she was going to know him. Schee had met her in her human state, and it never really occurred to her that him and Zink would actually discuss her.
All she knew was that Schee has asked her to join this team and as she seemed to trust him above any other at the present time she did not want to refuse his request. He did not tell her much, just that the Captain was an officer named Zink. Besides that the meeting would be anyone’s guess, she did not know what he looked like, what he acted like or his age. She just knew a name, well a letter. Z. Her candy pink eyes scanned the large building, walls covered with numerous books. There was hardly anyone here but then again it was first thing Saturday, SHE did not even want to be here so she could fully understand why the place was so bare.
She wondered across the room, the echoing of her heels being the only real noise in the whole place. The Liberian was quite happily at the main desk minding his own business; she did not even win a glance from him. It seemed odd to meet in such an open place; however now she realised that it really would be private. As always Tali remained confident, even though some would go out of their way to impress their commanding officer, yet Tali was sure he would be satisfied with her. She was very confident in that fact. This week really had changed her life. She felt like she could achieve anything she strived for, it was a thrilling feeling. Now she had substance to back up her claims, she knew she was born to be something special. Now she was. She was a lieutenant. She was Trona.
Making her way to the very back of the room she noticed a desk in the corner, out of sight and tucked away in shadow. She wondered over and laid her hand on a chess piece which was rested on its side. She sunk down onto one of the seats and tilted her head, arranging the pieces on the bored. She could not say she liked playing chess but she knew how it worked, it was something her grandfather taught her. Putting the last piece in place she leaned her chin against her palm and closed her eyes; waiting for events to be set in motion.

He had at least worn his favorite shirt, the one with the bleached out 'Z!' on the front, sadly still complete with a few drip lines, though on some level he thought they added character as well as 'grunge', the latter though could not be helped. He scanned the room searching for someone, anyone who even lightly matched Dem's description, such as it was, before he'd hung up again. b*****d still hadn't mentioned where he was or what the hell he thought he was doing. He saw someone he thought might be her at the chessboards, which delighted him for a few moments till he thought he saw a rather disinterested look on her face. Ah well...not everyone could appreciate the game after all. "Talim?" he asked as he approached.

Not that she was complaining! However from what she had seen so far everyone in the Negaverse was quite young. I mean through the media they are described as super solders and as such she imagines mostly men in their later years however it had proved to be very different. She opened her eyes once more to look at the boy who was approaching her. She was confident that he was the person she was waiting for, for one she had never met him before and he knew who she was. More so a ‘Z’ could be made out on his shirt. A small smirk came onto her lips as she watched him approach.
She stood up and leaned against the table, tilting her head to one side. “That is me and I guess that means you are who I presume you are. It is a pleasure to finally meet you.” She nodded her head and held out her hand to shake his. She was not a polite girl but she had her ambitions in mind, she knew to get to the top you needed so swim your way through gallons of crap. She may be deluded in the sense she thought herself as some prodigy, but she knew as far as ranking went she was at the bottom of the food chain and despite knowing this would one day change she knew for now; Z outranked her and she wanted to get in good with the officers above.
When she had the freedom and authority to express her own personality and thought she would, that power would come in time. For now she would learn all that she could from Z. After all that was why she was assigned to him. It made her very curious though, he was not what she was expecting and she would simply love to get to know what he could do. He must have impressed someone to get a fancy promotion, that she was sure. “Please call me Tali, and what should I call you? Sir.” She asked, her voice was quite quiet.
It was a library after all.

"For the time being you may call me Zac." He said with a curt nod. "Later you can call me Captain..." He said quietly "Are you comfortable speaking here or would you prefer to walk." He was polite, strait forward... very VERY short, but there was something about his eyes if you knew to look. He stared too long at people at times, his gaze too sharp and too direct perhaps, though it was clear it didn't bother -everyone-, maybe those here were used to it, but some were not. "You're fairly new I understand, what did...Dem, tell you?" He did not sit, or ask her to stand just put his hands in his pockets like he were talking to her about the weather. He hadn't quite gotten the actors 'casual' of it down, a little too serious business, a lot too somber, entirely too poker face. "And please..." He added with a sharp tilt of his head. "Tell me about yourself."

“He did not tell me much, he told me about starseds, about the Queen - but nothing beyond. He just told me you were going to be the one in charge of me, so I guess the rest falls down to you.” She nodded; truly she did not know much. She had only been Trona once since she was awakened and was utterly confused, her weapon, if you can call them that, where a pair of running shoes. How she got the best of them she was clueless bout. She was sure answers would come soon enough. Truth be told she just could not wait to prove herself. It was all so exciting!
Talking about herself was a different matter, she was her favourite topic and she scanned her mind for relevant information to which she might share. “Well I am in my last year of Meadowview, I love dark fantasy video games, I have a pet tarantula, in line for a job at HMV once I leave... and now I am a Lieutenant. I cannot think there is much else to say besides I am a very determined person, I won’t disappoint you. She stated with a small smirk, not really moving much. She wondered where this meeting was going to go, what her training would involve. She was like a little kid, she could not wait to discover things and get to work, and she was itching to start.
“Stay here, go someone else, it’s all the same o me. What did you have in mind?” She asked, surly the location depended very much on what they were actually going to be doing. Sure enough if they were just going to talk this would do however if they where training somewhere more private would be needed, the ball was in his court. “Why Zac? Are you going to tell me a bit about my mentor?”

"He quirked an eyebrow at her, she interviewed well, it would suit her well enough if she entered the 'real world' but saying you were determined was one thing and being it was another. He knew that all too well from far too many past experiences. "Mentor... myself... or Demy?" He said with a small glint in his eyes, they were otherwise a cold and icy blue. "I... consider myself a tactician, I want to see each person on my team make it at least to captain...if not general. If you fall behind or have an area where I believe you could stand improvement or diversity I will speak to you... I expect people to listen to these suggestions because my training of YOU and your performance here after will reflect on me if you decide to be part of this team and if I agree... " he tipped his head slightly and moved a pawn. "Questions?"

“Zac, you told me to call you that right? Don’t worry I have NO doubt that I will one day see me raise through the ranks, although talk is cheap. I will PROVE it to you.” She stated with a small smirk on her face, Tali was confident, some might say over confident however it worked for her. Believing in yourself was not a bad thing. Especially in the case of Tali, she saw herself as invincible so failure or fear was never something that crossed her mind. She wanted to make it up the ranks; she wanted that power and God help her she was going to get it.
“You are my mentor; I am your tea after all.” She nodded; she just hoped he was a good enough teacher to help her advance. However he could somehow tell by the way he portrayed himself that he could be the vessel to her success. “So what now? Think I have what it takes to be part of your team? I am somewhat eager to get started, sir.”

".. I suppose we'll see if you -are- good enough." He said with a very somber and serious expression. He was on one hand impressed by her confidence, but there were always times when one needed more caution than valor, but valor seemed to be her order of the day. Still... it would be absurd to believe that anyone, no matter how ambitious was perfect from the get go. He fished a small notebook from his pocket and a pen, jotting something down he tore the page free and then offered her the lot, pen, paper and... phone number. "That, is a track phone number." He said bluntly. "I realize we have other means of reaching each other in the evenings," he said meaning of course the purple crystals that the Queen had given out to each of them. "However I find this to be an occasionally necessary back up. I do have a personal phone, but this number is for... serious business." He said with a slightly forced smile. "As it's paid in cash you can reach it with no one the wiser about who your calling... I suggest phone cards for the same reason." He pointed at the notebook. "I would appreciate methods I can reach you at just there, I will be scheduling a full team meeting as soon as they finish with their current assignments, in the mean time I'll brief them about you, when your done, you and I can go for some one on one training as well, and then I'll give you an assignment that you can carry out with your evening regular duties, alright?"

“Yea I can understand that. Erm...” She thought for a moment before reaching into her pocket to take out a phone, putting his number into it, she did not really know what to put him down as but she guessed Zac would do, not like she could not just say it was a friend calling her or something. She then pressed a few more buttons to get up her number and email address before she handed the pink phone to her Captain, yea... she loved pink!
“Here you go. I have put down my email too, I do not know how much use it will be but there you go.” She smiled; she guessed it could come in handy. He tilted her head as he talked off of a team. She never really thought about whom else would be in it, who were the people she would be working with and all of that. “The more the merrier. So how else is in this team? Are they many? Is there a team name?” She asked, she wanted to know more!
“Sounds good, I cannot wait to get started!” She added with a small smile, it might be odd that someone was actually excited and looking forward to such a thing, however Tali wanted to be a part of this organisation. She was here of her own free will.

"Queen's Gambit... 2 other active team members, one whom is working independently for now as she has a full time job that suits our purposes." He paused and blinked at the pink phone... he pondered Fayalite's loathing of pink and... thought this could be ever so interesting in the long run in sorting out differences.
"The other team members are Fayalite, and Selenite for your active team members, if you meet Zircon she is part of the team in a far more lenient capacity. She's a teacher..." he said the last part as though that explained quite a lot...perhaps it did.
"Selenite is the demi-official second in command, if or when we split into groups it means I need you to follow her reactions to changes in the situation, this is not a competition it's based on experience. As you prove yourself you will be assigned similar duties...alright?"
