
Air was suffocating, grass brittle and dry from the uncommonly shy rains, and even her tree was all but dead, hurting for nourishment. When would mother earth cry tears of love for her earth bound creatures?
Taking a shaky breath in Mehta continued to muse, her gaze on the grounds in front of her. Nothing would be stupid enough to roam the lands right now. No one.
This thought damped her spirits. Again she would be stuck waiting for her missing family. Another shaky breath, the heat stinging her lungs. So much emotion, so many things plaguing her mind.
It had been awhile since the female ate, however this she ignored. It could wait a little longer after all. It wasn't like she was completely emaciated.
Picking her body up slowly, stumbling, she hopped off the tree limb and onto the ground. Missing her catch her body hit the dusty earth hard, head ricocheting off the ground before hitting it again.
Things never got so dark so quickly.
