Well, with a father like Kade, of course Yoakim Jr. had to have something cute! The boy is a little ashamed of the journal, but since it was his welcoming present from Kade, he can't really say no to it. The only alteration Yoakim Jr. HAD to make so he could stand it was scratching out the little, happy bee in the corner of the cover. ..And at the bottom right corner of every page inside. He put a lot of work into keeping his present, it should be noted! He keeps it underneath his pet rock's box outside.

My new house is small.
I like my dad – he's nice. But can be weird.
He bought me this journal because he said everyone should have one.. I've never had anywhere to write down my thoughts. Mostly because I don't have many.
I don't know what to say.

Today was Stocking Day. It's like Christmas, but there's no Santa or anything.
I got a rock. I named him Zap.
Dad's been crying all morning. Uncle Jacob told me not to bother him.
Zap says that too.

Spring 1st // Year 2 // Entry 3

I went to New Year's Eve last night. It was fun.
There was a big bonfire and fireworks.
Jacob had to bring me, because Dad and Aunt Tess went to another party I can't go to.
I talked to Mitsukai from my class. She likes the color pink.
I liked last night a lot.

Spring 20th // Year 2 // Entry 4

Aunt Tess and Dad were fighting this morning, so they asked Catrina to take me out to play.
I don't like it when they fight.
We went to the Treasure Hunt. I got on Team Salmon with the other kids. It was fun.
There was a panda bear. I got to pet him.
We got to set off fireworks too.
I think we lost because of me. But I still want to go next year too.

Summer 9th // Year 2 // Entry 6

Dad's not seeing me. He hates me. He should.
I'm living with Aunt Tess now. She's nice. But I know she's mad at me too.
We went to see Dad today. He got mad again.
Aunt Tess told me to go play. I don't have any friends, so I took Zap.
Zap's mad at me too.
We went to the park. There was a scary man there.
I left Zap behind. He's probably gone now. He hates me too.
He's better without me.

Summer 13th // Year 2 // Entry 7

There was the Tomato Festival today.
Uncle Jacob came to take me out today. We teamed up.
It was fun. But Jacob got out because of me. He was mad.
Like everyone always is.
I lasted until the end. But I lost anyway.
Even though Jacob was mad, I made a friend today, so I'm happy. Her name's Celeste. We both have red hair.
I like her.

I had my birthday today.
Dad came home for it. He looks better now. I think it's because he was away from me.
I'm happy for him. Aunt Tess is too. Uncle Jacob isn't.
I don't understand why. Uncle Jacob is just angry lately.
I got a big cake and a pet today. It's a chicken. I named him Gatling.
He's really cute.

Winter 23 // Year 3 // Entry 9

Gatling is really big now. She laid an egg, which makes her a girl.
Aunt Tess says she can't stay in my room anymore. I don't want to put her outside. But she says Gatling will be safe inside a coop.
I really wish so.
Aunt Tess had her boyfriend help change the hutch outside for Gatling. She said Dad wouldn't mind.
I wish that too.
I've been friends with Angelina. I like her a lot. I'm happy she doesn't hate me for what happened.
But her dad does. He won't let her out to play when school is done.

School is ending soon.
I'll probably fail everything. I know it.
Angelina isn't going to be in school anymore. I don't know if we'll see eachother anymore. She'll probably forget about me over the Summer.
She says she won't, but I bet she will.
Aunt Tess says Dad is coming home. I want him home now.
Gatling's likes the outside more than my room. Jacob is busy at work and Aunt Tess hasn't been fun lately.
I'm alone.

Summer 14th // Year 4 // Entry 11

Aunt Tess made me go outside today. I think she's mad at me. She hasn't been smiling much lately.
Dad didn't smile much either. I miss him.
Jacob has been nice at Church, but he doesn't have time for me when it isn't church-time.
I went to the park, without Gatling. She was sleeping or hiding from me, so I had to go alone.
I met Molly there. She's kind of nice and she let me play with her.
I wish she would let me again.

Dad came home today! He's happy again and he's going to live with us. Aunt Tess is happier now too. I'm happy.
I showed him Gatling and he liked her. He said that she's a cute chicken. I think so too.
His hair changed. I like it much better now.
Tomorrow is school again. I want to tell Angelina and Molly about Dad.
