Switch: How..had life come to this? One day, he simple remembered waking to this strange new world that was now his own. Lonely, endless days spent avoiding the company of others. Hunting for food endless in the back lot of places far and wide. And like some form of cruel irony he'd...become one of them. Slowly but surely his animal form passed to that of the things he'd avoided all his life. Humans. Yet unlike humans, he'd seen things most never dreamed.
Half his face had been marred by another cat many years ago. Despite this, Switch had grown strong. Angry and hostile, but no less prideful and courageous. Not that it mattered much. Life had taken a change for the dramatic, and he needed to clear his mind.
That left the feline staring across a board walk. The ocean gleamed like a thousand golden fire flies. Pink and grey blue cloud lazily sailed across the afternoon sky. Mismatched royal purple eyes gazed with silent approval. The collar on his neck made him self conscious, every so often he'd idly touch it, reminded of the scaring that hid underneath.
Cross: It was getting late. As the sun glistened against the water, it further lowered down into it's resting place for the night. It's not to say it was pitch black, oh no! It was the most beautiful sunset that was just happening to be slowly unfolding for the world to partake in. A beauty that most would stop to gaze in awe. A beauty, that seemed to be lost on one lone male as he stumbled, headphones blaring as loud as possible, into a tree. It wasn't as if the tree had happened to jump out in front of him. That would instigate that the tree had legs. Instead, it seemed as if the male currently face-planting into the bark of the tree happened to just be rather unobservant, more interested in singing badly to the music slowly making him deaf.
This male took a while to blink, pulling himself back into a more stable state of mind. It was already this time of day? ********, it.. it.. where was he? As he slowly turned his head to scan his surroundings, he sighed. He had done it again. He had seemingly wandered along a random path, mind zoned out into some weird state of mind that only a face plant could apparently break him from. Brushing himself off, he sighed again. Never was anyone to talk to, much less steal food from. He turned to the open water, likely having not even noticed he was walking past it for likely the past hour. He would be alone again tonight, and once again it was further from home. Not that he ever really had a place to call home in the first place.
Switch: His ears perked up at the sound of what was unmistakably music. His tail flicked, growling just under his breathe. It wasn't like he was expecting anyone..so clearly that meant it was a stranger. Lowering himself the feline stared at the source disturbance, eying the other and his so called 'walking tree'. A single brow arched in vague amusement. "Nice going." he muttered to himself, slinking closer stalking his would be prey.
Once within arms reach, the blue and black haired male coughed rather loudly into his gloved palm, drumming his fingers lazily as he waited for a response. What did he have to lose? Whom ever the blonde was couldn't even stirr away from a stationary object. Hard to be intimidating at that point, not even HE himself could have recovered from such a...idiotic move.
Although he had to admit the look on the other males face was priceless. Of course, Switch refused to admit such things. Not to the source of the near smile that had nearly been produced at least. He wasn't insane after all. Just angry at the world and one to many fuses short.

In the midst of dusting himself off, acting as if he never face-planted in the first place, the loud coughing noise nearby startled him to the extent of tail fluffing, screeching, and attempting to flail into a rather not so large bush. He didn't really plan to hide inside of it, he just happened to smoothly get his leg caught inside of it, in an attempt to flee in a random direction. In his defense, the last time a loud noise startled him out of his music coma, it was a girl that stalked him long enough to drive him semi-insane. Sure, she was cute and nice as hell, but it was still not something he wanted to relive.
"H.. hey! The.. oh ... ... You're not ... yea.. "
He shivered, wishing he could vanish into thin air. He was never really good with the whole sneaking around, or fleeing out of sight thing. His face being red didn't help. The leaves sticking in his coat did not, either. He was a mess. A mess that just wanted to not make the male in his sights think he was insane. He was totally sane! .. Just ..
"So .. like.. the chance of me being a figment of your imagination .. possible, right? You don't see me, and I can so totally .. back.. away.. now.. .. "
He shivered again, sighing.
"So yea, I doubt it. But sorry about that. Just a little.. on edge I guess. Meh."

Switch wasn't..sure what to make of the cat. Between the tripping, stammering and nerves.. It was the simple, honest truth. He -must- be insane he heard his mind reason as his tail flicked. As harsh as he could have been with the other feline...something about who ever the hell this was, would not be rewarded with his usual cruelty. Switch couldn't bring himself to be angry with the flailing...mess.
"I'm...not what?"
He finally replied, crouching down before the other. Shaking his head, blue and black bangs swinging in every which direction. Staring at the distance between them, Switch sighed impatiently as he reached out, brushing off some of leaf matter. Force of habit his mind reasoned.
"No. I wouldn't imagine something like this. I assure you."
Switch replied quietly, surprised by how calm he felt. Normally, he'd have been in a fight or worse by now..or uncomfortable about his scars at the least. "Get up." his words came out harshly. Yet for just a moment, his expression softened. He'd have denied a smile..but something like it had briefly lined his lips.
Almost rudely, Switch grasped at the others hand before pulling him roughly to his feet.
"No need to be sorry." looking back over his shoulder, he shifted uncomfortably. His one visible violet colored eye shifted back and forth, his vision was poor at best that much was evident. His mis matched eyes told the story, words he himself would not dare speak openly.
Let alone to a stammering ninny...the poor thing looked like a mess. A hopeless, lost mess. So what if he wanted to be helpful? It wasn't a CRIME after all... Waving him along, Switch began to walk along the pier. "You..can come if you want?" he shrugged, a sigh of his own escaping his lips. What else did he have to do? The answer of course was nothing. He had -nothing- better to do beside avoid the crazy kid who followed him around..squeeling and petting. This seemed more appealing.

Still jittery, still absent-mindedly trying to brush the foliage from his coat, he was surprised from the forceful jerk suddenly felt around his hand, as he was pulled upward by the other male. He wasn't sure what quite to make of such an action, whether he should be ready to fight, or ready to flee.. or just ready to wait this encounter out. Blinking thrice, he looked the other in the eyes ... suddenly feeling an odd sense of calm. He for some reason could tell by the tension in the air that this person could be potential harm, but not now. He did not sense that. He could not sense that this person would kill him, even if his facial expressions and movements seemed to want to prove otherwise. All in all, the other male just seemed.. bitter, and tired to him.
"I .. uh.. thanks. For helping me up .... "
He sighed again, brushing the last leaf out of his hair. With the exhale of breath, his hair shifted up comically, falling back into its rightful place. It was going to be a long night, he thought. It had to be. With a shrug, a hand placed over his head, and a prayer under his breath ... he told himself it was ok. If it wasn't ok .. well.. then he would just be dead, which in a sense was likely a sense of release in it's own way.
"Come with you, eh? ... Well, if you're that desperate for company to offer a degenerate like me to tag along, then yea, sure."
He tried to compose himself, aside from the leaves he pulled out he was still sort of a mess. Untangling his Ipod from whatever appendage it attached itself to during the flail attack, he placed it in a pocket before he could lose it. Smoothing out his fur, he then ruffled his hair, making it look like a brush was unneeded, and useless given it's magical-like ability to look fixed afterward. He looked better, even if he still looked like a slacker of a teenager that made himself a fool.
"Though, I do wonder, just where it is we're going ... I'll let ya be the judge of that though. I'll just follow, yea? .. Don't wanna be more of a bother than I've already been."
With a shrug, he placed both hands in their rightful pocket-side, leaving the fate of his night with this stranger.

Switch gave the smaller male a long, considering look. He...seemed so air headed. He had a feeling he might regret tonight, that just maybe he should have remained alone as was per usual. In all reality, he wasn't sure how to take the others searching, demanding eyes. It was almost like he could see past his carefully constructed mask -- effortlessly. For all he was violent..Cross seemed to be obvious. Perhaps it was for the better. Yet still his mind kept coming back to the same question How..could a stranger have done this? No one was suppose to be able to. No one. He hated equally and completely. Yet here he was..asking him to come along. Pray the little fool did nothing to piss him off.
"Don't worry about it." He replied with a shrug of his own.
The males mismatched eyes blinked in response to the others continued jittery stammering. Shaking his head in dismay, the cat sighed at Cross once he was done brushing himself down. Scoffing, he flicked his tail glancing over his shoulder upon being questioned about there direction. His blue and black bangs shadowed a portion of his face, laying smoothly without any needed fussing. His lips moved as if to say something, instead Switch closed his eyes and sighed a half crocked smile turning up at the corner of his mouth.
"Desperate isn't the right word." his ears laid back, wrinkling his lip up a fraction. "Not saying now. You'll have to keep up." The smug smile actually resembled something akin to a genuine smile. As with most of his expressions they were fleeting. "And if you were a bother, I'd have left you there." Switch arched a brow at Cross, tsking at the other.
Without looking back to the other male, he trudged along the pier with a clear direction in mind. At some time and point he led the other away from the docks, and down what looked like an old worn trail. Several rocks lay scattered about, some stacked upon the other. Without explaining, the cat quickly climbed up seating himself Indian fashion.
The view. He wasn't sure if the other even gave a rats a**..but he wanted to bring him here. The fading horizon bled bright oranges and pinks. The sun reflected lazily off dark blue waves as they rolled lazily.
