The children of Hephaestus hide out together in the abandoned subways. Their hideouts are marked by a spray painted anvil and hammer or flame in red on a nearby structure.

Kate huddles around a fire, tinkering with one of her weapons. The subways aren't always completely dry, or have enough electricity, but it works. No one bothers them at least.

Magma Fyre Kate huddles around a fire, tinkering with one of her weapons. The subways aren't always completely dry, or have enough electricity, but it works. No one bothers them at least. The shackles of chains were heard. Then the digusting, heavy panting. Then the splish-splash of giant footsteps into small puddles. Through the darkness of the shadows, penetrating it were two bloodshot eyes, full of malice and bloodlust. Suddenly, a monster ran out of the darkness, pouncing on the Hephaestus children. A hellhound. It ran through their fire and began tearing and biting at the unforetunate children. Then it's eyes laid on Kate. A bloodcurdling howl rang through the abandoned subway as it sprinted towards Kate, jaws open and ready to rip

She stands and draws her sword, leaving her crossbow at her feet. "Everyone! Behind me!" she calls, easing into a defensive position. She waits until the last moment, then jabs her sword forward into the monster's nose.

It howled in pain as it felt the sword going through its septum. He jumped back and growled. He was ready to leave bitemarks all over Kate, it was forgetting it's mission, to eliminate all demigods. It rushed at Kate and rammed its head into her.

Kate gets bowled backwards, but not without inflicting more damage to the hound. Her sword nicks its eye as she falls back and scrambles to stand again.

The hellhound jumped back and howled once more, and jumped back. The pain was irratating, but not enough to drop it dead. It pounced back on them, jumping over Kate and landing on one unfortunate child. It began ripping her to shreds.

After an unforunate carnage, the hellhound pounced onto the railways and like lightining, bolted off down the abandoned tunnel.
