User Image Just off the coast, where the land started to dip and the sea really started, there was a horseshoe shaped curl of rock, partially protected from above by a web of coral. The opening was just large enough for a mer to get into -maybe, if they squeezed- and the entire cove was big enough to fit two mer- three if they were getting cozy.

It was, of course, much larger to Tangaroa. He had lots of room, and could have had a whole party of seathi's in his little cove if he wanted.

Unfortunately, he didn't want. He didn't want anyone in his little cove. You see, this curl of rock was HIS curl of rock. He left it rarely - mainly to get some food or add to his own tiny stockpile. When he was home - well, he guarded it. He patrolled the entrance, and the sea just outside it, even did his best to hide the entrance with strands of kelp and seaweed wrapped around the coral. No one was getting into his home.

This particular day, Tangaroa was outside of his cove, towing strands of kelp between his teeth to better disguise the hole in the rocks.

User Image Nenmau hadn't been heading there particularly, but he was moving in that direction. He hated being dry, so often avoided areas near the surface, or the shallows. However, he had heard about a type of flotsam that had been found that helped hair grow longer. Of course, his hair was already perfect, but it was still something to be investigated. After all, if something was amazing, who would not want more of it?

He spied Tangaroa with a mouthful of kelp and smiled. That must be what he was looking for, perhaps the little one would share, or tell him where he got it, or let him barter for it or win it from him in a game. He hoped for any option that kept him firmly under water. His coat was less shiny when dry, and gravity and hair did not mix. He did not understand surface lovers. How could one look ones best of one were dry. "Hello there!" he called to the small one.

The big Mer had surprised Tangaroa, and he almost dropped his kelp. Almost. But the kelp was his, and he wasn't going to let it float away for someone else to pick up. So he looped it over a bit of coral, and turned to face the intruder. A bigjob, eh? Well, big as he was, Tangaroa wasn't about to let him just waltz into his territory and do as he pleased, he had standards after all. And this guy was too big to fit.

He zoomed at the mer, ending mere inches in front of his face. His voice was surprisingly deep for such a little thing.

"What are you doing here, bigjob? This is my place, so you can just move along! Go on, I'm not here to be looked at, get!"

He blinked once, then schooled his reaction. No reason to seem startled, none at all. He gave the little one a small smile. One of his best, really. "I am called Nenmau, not big job, and you?" he asked, almost purring. It was generally best to put hyper little things at ease. When they darted around he had a nearly uncontrollable urge to chase them. Which was often fun. Until they hid behind some one his size.
