She was graceful, every step she took was reminiscent of a ballet dancer. Doci bounded through the forest, making no sound, feet hardly touching the ground. She slowed to a standstill, pausing to enjoy the beauty of the lake at sunset. She padded around the lake slowly, taking in the scenery. "It's so nice here!" Doci wished she could stay longer, but night would soon fall. She had to move quick, or she would lose her visibility. She ran fast, and soon reached her destination.
Doci crawled into the cave. It was dark and humid, and it felt nice. She lay down, crossing her paws. She smiled. "Wow..."The cave was raised, and she had a nice view of the lake. She closed her eyes, overflowing with happiness. Doci catnapped, and fished at the lake(the fish there were suprisingly big), and the day went by very lazily.
Doci awoke the next day very early in the morning. She went down to the lake, checking nearby rocks for moss to check direction. She decided which way was north, and went to collect firewood.

Haru had settled beside a large, knocked over tree, his tail wrapped around his body and his head nested in his fur. His oddly marked eyes flicked around, scanning the forest as if prepared to attack. The number 13 flashed right on his hip, under it a fancy little star. He was the kind of fox most thought was bad, except the odd little bow right by his ear. Often he was mocked for his boy, which was wrapped around a strand of hair, but he loved it. His mother had given it to him when he was little, and after her death he had held onto it. It was his favorite thing, and the only thing he really cared for.
He wasn't traveling much, he had been roaming this forest for some time in fact. He was not the traveling type, not the tribe type, and not the companion type. He was merely Haru, a fox that did as he pleased and just... existed. He liked this simple life style, it was quiet and comforting. The fox had rarely much worries to fret over, and little to even have to think about.
He was free.
The sound of footsteps sent the male into a tense mode, raising his head and ears flicking upwards. Why was someone in his forest? Damn, he'd have to play nice, maybe even converse. Awh, screw it, he could probably hide and be left alone. He didn't camouflage much but... Damn. He wiggled into the wood, hiding under it and flopping his tail under his body. Maybe he could be left in peace.

Doci paused. She heard leaves crunching nearby, just behind a hedge. Would they harm her? She walked to the thicket that shielded the fox from view. Th rustling had stopped. Doci found a small opening in the leaves that allowed her to view the other side. There! Under a pile of wood she could see some specks of red fur.
Doci gasped. Loudly.
It was by accident, of course, but if the stranger meant her harm he now knew where to find her. Doci, not much of a fighter, stepped back several steps, waiting for the fox to show itself.

He was caught!
The loud vixen had seen him, and he had seen her. She had jerked away, and in doing so made even more noise, noise Haru was not pleased with. Haru stepped out from his hiding spot, flicking his tail as he shook himself off and rubbed his cheek with his paw, removing a splinter. His strange eyes flicked to look at the girl as if she was an idiot of sorts, and rudely he clicked his tongue.
"Am I that scary looking? It's the eyes, right?"
Ah there he went, such a charmer. Really, he had the ability to be nice, but she had started it! Popping up on his nap time, sheesh! And now she was making such loud noises, did the girl never see a male before?

"N-n-no!"
It was a regular male. Doci stepped back a few more steps and slowed her breathings to calm herself down. He didn't seem to mean any harm, but he could've been nicer. And the eyes! They were triangular and looked bloodshot. Doci decided that one of them had to be nice, and if it was going to be her, then so be it.
"W-who are you?" Doci's heart was still racing. "I'm Doci."

Haru frowned at her, looking at the vixen. Hey, she had a bow, too. Interesting. Maybe she knew something about his mother? Probably not. He flicked his tail at her, leaping onto the wood. "Haru." He replied, noticing her stutter with a slight grin.
"Cat got your tongue?" He mused lightly, maybe even sarcastically. Hey, she was on his turf, he could be sarcastic! The odd male eyed the vixen before leaping down, beginning to pad away.
"Well, Doci. If it isn't the eyes then what is it?"

Doci padded up to Haru's side. He obviously meant no harm. "It's just... you surprised me." Doci looked over to Haru. She was calmer now, and realized that the male was beautiful, in a rebellious way. She saw a bow on his ear. "Where did you get that? I have one too, see?" She flicked her tail in his direction.

He eyed her, shrugging. "My mother. She was part of a group of foxes that left one another, and before she died she gave the bow to me." He smiled for a brief second before glaring at her, suspicious, until he saw her tail. Curiously, he tilted his head, scanning her and then the bow. Not the same colors, nor the same sizes.
"You? Were did you get yours from?" He mused. Now that he thought about it, his bow was becoming slightly tilted. Carefully, he fixed the bow, flicking his tail.

Doci paused. "My grandmother." she quietly responded. Poor Haru, losing a mother would be terrible, far too much pain for her to handle. She mulled over the thought for a moment, and, finding the thought of death far too terrifying, shooed away the thought. "I don't know where she is." she thought out loud. Doci tried to shake away the thought that she might be dead. "It's nice out, isn't it?" she said cheerfully, changing the subject.

Haru didn't know what to say, wether he should move closer and ask if she saw her grandmother, or not. His eyes flicked away from her, his strange, odd eyes. Absently he wondered where they come from. His father? His mother had beautiful green eyes. Eyes so soft and gentle. He turned to look at Doci, shaking his head, not caring to much for the weather.
"I prefer rainy days."
