Yes the fiance and I are both part Irish, and felt that the celtic rings would be so much better than just a plain band. They would mean more.
Mine is going to be a narrow band, but his will be the wide like that shows.

Still trying to decide on the unity thing... Probably going to do the sand ceremony being outside and everything. Navy and white, with some glitter [Silver] possibly.

UGH! 1500 DOLLARS JUST FOR 4 DIFFERENT TYPES OF APPETIZERS!? You've got to be kidding me! burning_eyes At that rate I'll gather recipes and have family members help make them.

im doing most of the stuff myself so ill have enough money for food. i would make the food myself but i want my guests to live.
one thing i noticed, as soon as people learn your planning a wedding it feels like everyone is trying to overcharge you for things

As it is the wedding cake is more than the dress. The food would be more than the dress and the venue combined. The rings are more than the dress or the venue. Which I don't mind because that's paying for quality and weight of gold, etc.
But sheebus... food? Stuff that's just going to go bad if nobody eats it? Stuff I can buy in the grocery store for about 1/4th of the cost they want to charge? No way no how... I'll talk to family members and they'll make it for me before I pay 1500$ for some smoked salmon on crackers, some meatballs, and some mini pinwheel sandwiches. burning_eyes

That is way too expensive for things that can be so easily made. When we were looking into planning our wedding last year, I wanted to get married at the aquarium. It's fairly cheap to rent it out for a wedding, BUT you have to go with their catering service. The rental fee and the MINIMUM catering fee brings the whole thing close to $10,000. There is a employee discount, but it's not enough to make a difference. You have to be loaded to get married there! It sucks because I've seen some of the set-ups and what they do is gorgeous. Tables all up and down the Giant Ocean Tank ramp...gorgeous.

The minimum I've found is 700$ for appetizers. And that's only 5 different types. yeah.... I'm thinking doing it on my own. Cause I can't afford that.
The venue is only 600$ for a 4 hour slot. Plus they do the decor for the wedding. The dress is only 350$ I'm not paying more for food than I am for the dress or the venue.
Also found a great photographer for 150$ an hour... You have to book her a minimum of 4 hours though so 600$ for her, plus 150 an hour after that, which isn't bad, considering she puts the proofs up online for ordering so the parents and other family members in several different states can pick their own and order.
