In retrospect, G wished he could have seen more of Halloween Town. Being stuck in a forest for hours had been fun and stuff, but apparently some of the kids had gotten to see Sandy Claws.
G would have given up a whole boat to see Sandy Claws.
With a dejected sigh, the monster was dragging himself around outside, clearly moping. He wasn't even trying to snap at the frogs that were flinging themselves out of his way. Had Sandy Claws been big and round and red? Was he scary? G absently touched at his head fin, which was also, unfortunately, still red from Professor Tailor's class.
He still thought it made him look cool.
Finally, Gargantuan threw himself down in some of the less muddy weeds, his thick tail lashing back and forth. Even though he hadn't managed to get that far in Christmas Town, he could still daydream!

Alessa had never known she could be home sick, considering she'd never really had any home for very long. Her little visit to Christmas Town however...well, had made her yearn ever so much to come back to school. Maybe that meant that the academy felt like her home now. Or maybe she had just really, really needed to be back in an environment full of Fear. Now that she was back that feeling didn't fade, but instead turned into relief. She was so glad to be back and to have control over her own body again. The spontaneous shifting really hadn't been a joy to deal with. Or maybe that had been the real problem; there just had been too much joy. Period.
She was taking this opportunity to enjoy her reclaimed control, though. She had had to rest for a day or two, sure, but now she was feeling better and it was nice outside so...what better to do than to hop around the grounds? Once and a while she'd pause, lifting her head and listening carefully. Rain had warned her she shouldn't do this so often, because other students might eat her but...she liked being a rabbit and the thought of stopping because of others well...she wrinkled her little rabbit nose and continued on stubbornly. She could take care of herself. Right?
Suddenly she heard something. Peeking her head above the reeds she saw where the swishing sound was coming from...it was a snake! Oh wait, no, it was a tail. But if that was just the tail then how big was it's owner-

Gargantuan was busying himself with seeing just how many swamp plants his tail could accidentally devastate when something rustled in the bushes nearby. Every part of him went still, and slowly, the monster started to pull himself through the swamp. His fins were twitching, and his nostrils were flared, and so the great food hunt began! Wiggling and worming his way closer, the beast slowly opened his jaws as he turned about in a full circle...
...and stopped dead at the sight of the small and fluffy thing.
G had never seen a rabbit before, and his predatory posture immediately slumped with bewilderment. "Hi." He told it after a moment, and had he eyes, he would have been blinking owlishly. A big hand stretched itself out to experimentally pet at the tiny fuzzy creature, and his jaws dropped open instantly with delight.
"Soooooooofffffffffftttttt." Came the rumble, and he did his best to wiggle even closer without hurting his new found friend--well, and to also keep it from running away. It had funny ears, and a funny little tail, and, well, it looked funny!
G already decided he was going to take it home, and keep it forever.

She squeaked. Oh, Jack, not again! She had already been almost eaten once on campus and she didn't relish a repeat of the experience. Her first instinct was to scramble away, which she tried. She was tiny and fast and while she managed not to be grabbed, she did feel a brief stroke to her fur and was unable to get away from the large student. Had he surrounded her? Ho Boil, not good. Her little rabbit heart was beating at a thousand miles per hour. She was starting to panic. Okay, so what was escape plan B then?
Alessa hopped as far away from G's face as possible and shifted back to her human form as quickly as possible, landing herself clumsily on her bum in the mud. "D-don't...don't you dare eat me!" She snapped at him, trying to sound angry, but it wasn't really working. She couldn't help it, she was terrified. "Eating other students is really bad you know...you'll be kicked out! And then what would your mother say? Or your father? Or...whatever family you have?"

!!
Gargantuan's hand snapped back in surprise as his brand new pet disappeared, and in its place was a girl! She didn't sound happy with him, and the swamp beast hastily ducked his head in an attempt to look apologetic and sad. He hadn't meant it, honest! "G don't eat students, promise." He tried to reassure her, but his shoulders were hunched all the way up to his ear fins. At least, he didn't try to eat people when he knew they were students!
"G didn't mean it, G swears. Don't tell on G, G has to go to school to be scary!"
Oh dear. The swamp beast was starting to blubber. Big, fat tears were leaking out of his empty eye-sockets, and he was sniffling loudly. He couldn't remember his mother or his father, but if he had them, he was sure they'd be mad if he got kicked out of school! Another thought occurred to him, and he stopped for a moment, wiping his face with the back of his hand. "...You see G's pet? Was... was just here, but gone now..."
Where had the little fluffy critter run off to?

Oh no...was he...crying?
Alessa instantly felt horrible, like some big fat bully. Or rather, a small, cute bully. The last time another student had tried to eat her all she'd been met with was mockery (at least in her view), so she certainly hadn't expected...Oh, Jack.
"Oh, no please, don't cry," pleaded Alessa, looking guilty and sorry as anything. She put one of her small hands on his shoulder, despite any stickiness, trying to be reassuring. "I won't tell anyone. I'm sorry. I just thought...well I thought you were trying to eat me but...ahh...don't cry." She couldn't recall the last time she'd made anyone cry like that. Honestly, she wasn't very scary and her attempts to be hurtful were usually weak at best so...it wasn't a reaction she really knew how to deal with. It made her stomach hurt with worry.
"Your...pet?" She asked, trying to figure out what he was talking about. She hadn't seen anything before... "I didn't see anything, but...um...I can help you look? What doe sit look like?" she offered. It was the least she could do, to make up for making him upset.
