A heavy sigh, probably the seventh one in the past ten minutes alone, escaped the young woman as she sat, or perhaps slouched was a better term, on the couch in the rec room. Her brows were knitted together in deep thought as her cheek rested on her right hand with her elbow on the arm of the couch. It was later in the day - she'd tied Zeus to the treadmill that morning after breakfast, trained both of her pokemon in a spacious training room, tied Zeus to the treadmill again after lunch, brushed Odette with one hand after that and had eaten dinner earlier than usual, and now couldn't think of anything else to do, so she finally relented and took both to the rec room.
Odette was occupied preening herself in a corner that had enough space to spread her wings - pity there wasn't a mirror in the room, otherwise she'd be in front of that - and completely ignored the electric-type.
Said electric-type was perfectly happy to be ignored by the bird, as he sat his plump self on the carpeted floor a few feet in front of the giant tv. He was staring up at it, his bright green eyes transfixed on the moving images. It wasn't very often at all that Claire let her pokemon watch tv, but since she had nothing else to do - curse having a broken arm and being completely restricted in what she was allowed and able to do - she sighed heavily again, as slightly dulled violet eyes drifted to the tv as the channels switched every so often, her expression one of distinct disinterest. She never really liked watching tv.

Boredom had once again set in and Panther walked to the rec room, knowing there was a TV in there, where he could vedge and not have to think of anything. He had out used his usual options of occupation days ago and until he managed to talk someone else into taking him out again, he was base bound. Today he was beginning to really wish his hand would hurry up and heal.
There was another grunt and two pokemon already in the room. He ignored them for the moment and reached for the remote. The TV was on some show he didn't recognize and he really didn't care to watch. The only one of them that even looked half interested was the pikachu anyways. picking up the remote he plopped on the far end of the couch and took up to channel surfing, looking for something more interesting then what he assumed was a soap opera.

Odette didn't even notice the other person coming into the room, too busy preening. Claire's violet eyes, however, immediately snapped to the person - a man, another grunt, it looked like - and her brow twitched when he took the remote so carelessly and flopped down.
The remote had been placed in a very specific spot, namely, directly in front of Zeus. His paw had been hovering over it, and when he didn't like what was on the box with moving pictures he would push the button that made it change. This was happening every so often until a human waltzed in and took it. The angry Pikachu immediately jumped up, red cheeks sparking as he glared daggers at Panther. He hopped over and stood in front of the man, pointing at him and flailing his arms to demonstrate his displeasure. "Pikachu pika! Chu pika pi!" Obviously the electric-type was extremely angry at the man for taking the remote, cutting into his valuable, precious TV time. The last time he'd gotten to watch one was, was... He couldn't even remember! How rude was this guy?!
"It's not nice to take the remote and change the channel on someone, you know," Claire commented from her side of the couch. If Panther thought she would be polite and move to accommodate him, he shouldn't have taken the remote. So the grunt stayed where she was, taking up the entire half of the couch and eying him skeptically. Just who did this guy think he is? And was he wearing... sunglasses? Inside? ...seriously?

Someone? The pikachu was hardly someone, and she clearly hadn't been watching it. The pikachu was angery, probably because of the removal of the remote. "You weren't watching it." Her grumbled, a bit leaning back on the couch. The fact she was taking up half the couch didn't bother him a bit, he had picked the bigger side after all.
The pikachu looks a bit upset though and that wasn't his original intention. Pokemon were usually content with whatever was on, or at least his were. Then again, Shadow, the one who would be most likely to steal his remote, have very similar tastes in shows. Things that blew up. He gave it a calculating glance, unaware, or uncaring of the other grunt's opinion of his sunglasses.

"Hardly," Claire said dismissively. She really had little interest in tv. It seemed like such a monumental waste of time unless something important was on, which was.. hardly ever. "But he was."
The angry Pikachu was growling at Panther still, his cheeks still sparking, though he knew if he tried to launch an electric attack he'd also probably hit his trainer, too... And then he'd be in even worse trouble than he had been for the last week or two.
He jumped onto the couch between the two grunts and growled more, trying to reach far enough to grab the remote from Panther. He was watching tv, and whether or not the man had found anything of interest to watch was of little consequence to the stubborn electric-type. Panther obviously didn't know that taking something that the Pikachu considered a reward was one of the highest offenses a person could commit, punishable by.. by... Well. He'd think of something.

"Oh, I see." he punched in the number of channel that generally had some kind of action show on and then set the remote under himself. "Tough luck little guy humans have priority over the TV." The sparks bothered him a bit, he wasn't sure of the small pokemon was going to zap him or not. He didn't feel like being hit with an attack at the moment. The last time had been more then enough for this month.
"How about a piece of candy or a bag of chips instead." he tried to bribe the little pokemon. Giving back the remote was out of the question, the TV was for the grunts, and he had earned his keep for the month. Unless that pikachu turned human on him, he was not returning the object of power. That didn't mean he could try to be a little diplomatic about it, first.

Zeus remained adamant about glaring at the offending grunt, paws on his chubby hips as he continued to growl. It seemed that, for once in his life, the treat-obsessed pokemon was actually turning down an offer for food. This was certainly a milestone in his life.
Apparently, the issue of the stolen remote was much more important than food. So much so that Claire raised her brows slightly at his reaction - it wasn't like him at all to turn down treats, and if the treat was chocolate, he would never in a million years turn it down.
Suddenly, the Pikachu drew his trainer out of her thoughts when he jumped forward, trying to shove himself between Panther's back and the couch, determined to get the remote at all costs. Claire's eyebrows raised completely, her mouth slightly agape as she watched him. It was the first time she'd seen him so persistent about something like this, and his actions were so sudden it seemed she was at a loss of what to do for the moment. Or maybe she really wasn't, and just wanted to see what the grunt would do in response? Either was just as likely.

Now this was rare, a pokemon that didn't become instantly distracted at the mention of food. Instead the pokemon attacked him, well sort of. The borrowing action reminded him of a moment long ago, TV fights amongst siblings, until dad stepped in that is.
The memory brought a bark of laughter. Unforchantly, he couldn't cover the remote well with his injured hand, so he simply lean onto the remote, pinning it tightly beneath him. "Stubborn little guy aren't you." he grinned at Claire, seeming to think this was more of a game then a nuisance now. "The remote is mine."

Zeus was burrowing in earnest now, squeezing himself fully behind Panther and under the back cushion of the couch. How he managed to fit in there was a mystery, especially to Claire - the little rat was overweight by every definition of the word - but she simply sighed and shook her head. Boys...
The Pikachu did not think this was a game in the least, and a muffled "Chuu!" floated out from behind the grunt before he suddenly leaned his back against the firm surface of the frame of the couch and pushed at Panther's lower back with all four paws. If he could just move him enough, he could swipe the remote! Then he'd have to hide somewhere, or at least try to get somewhere the human couldn't reach. Maybe on top of a shelf? Yeah, that would work! Now all he had to do was get the remote...

Though the rodent was a little chubby, his weight couldn't outmatch human with a 6'2" 165 pound frame, being several times the little pokemon's weight and sufficiently grounded to the couch. Yes there was a little room behind him, but his focus was on the remote which was beside him. he didn't have any room way to reach behind himself, so he simply opted to continue with his position, shifting a little to counter balance the pokemon trying to shove him off the couch. A hand reach along his belt, fumbling for a pokemon, possibly to help him keep the remote. one of the pokeballs got clicked and out popped a Pidgeot who stretched his wings letting out a soft cry.
"Wrong pokemon... Swiftwing? A little help here?" The large bird pokemon assessed the situation and then seemed to decide his trainer could handle it on his own. He walked away fluffing his feathers and then letting them fall back into place and then spotted the other Pidgeot. "Yeah I thought as much." Panther stuck his tongue at the pokemon.

The first indication that the situation could immediately go wrong was the fact Claire groaned and covered her face with her free hand. Why did he have to go and let out a bird? A Pidgeot, no less! Boys really were dumb, it seemed.
Oh, he wasn't sitting on it? It was on the other side... Rats! With a huff, the Pikachu used the small amount of space he'd created to shove himself further behind Panther, closer to his other side. What was... There... Oh! He could see the remote!! Well, barely, but still - he could see it! Now if only he could reach it..!
Odette was still preening like the vain bird she was, but she paused when the other bird appeared. Her eyes turned to suspicious slits as she studied the other Pidgeot with an aloof air about her. She huffed and ruffled her wings, her feathers starting to poof out a bit. As long as this bird didn't try anything, she had no reason to become hostile.

Just because the pokemon could see it, didn't mean he could reach it. the grunt put an elbow into the pikachu's face, refusing to allow passage. "Mine." he growled a little, but his face spoke otherwise. He never noticed Claire's reaction to Swiftwing's sudden presence.
Swiftwing Studied her back. he was completely uninterested in what his human was doing, this was normal behavior for the childish grunt. How his human thought he could take on a pokemon he would never know.
This pidgeot before him was unlike any he had ever seen before, all in a honey gold feathering, and she seemed to be warding him off. Letting out a soft coo, he ducked his head to begin preening. He'd rather be outside flying, but clearly Panther had made a mistake when reaching for his pokemon. He clearly wanted shade, the little ghost who would blindly do anything the human wanted.

A muffled yelp escaped from the dark recesses of the couch cushions before the Pikachu, an elbow suddenly and rudely shoved in his face, obviously reacted the way his instincts told him to - and he attempted to bite the offending appendage.
Claire shook her head slightly, peering between her fingers at her Pidgeot. Well, at least she looked like she was behaving... for now.
Odette studied the other Pidgeot more, and her head bobbed twice before lifting high in the air and she ruffled her feathers once more. Well, it seemed this bird at least knew his place. Potential threat neutralized, the narcissistic golden bird continued to preen, though she continued to keep a watchful eye on Swiftwing... Just in case.

When teeth came close to bare skin, the grunt reacted in a was that was most particular. He shot strait up and onto his feet. "Don't you dare bite me!" he turned and snapped off his glasses glaring at the pikachu with the full intensity of a very angery grunt. However, this left the remote free for the taking.
Despite her pretty looks, the other pidgeot seemed, well, a little full of herself for Swiftwing's tastes. His head swiveled up and around, looking at his human when he began to shout. Seemed the Pikachu had won, what did the human expect?

Claire stifled a laugh when Panther jumped up. "You elbowed him in the face - what did you expect?"
Zeus hadn't bitten him hard, just enough to get the message across that he should not elbow an electric-type pokemon in the face, especially if it had teeth and he so graciously presented bare skin to close to said teeth. With a triumphant cry, the Pikachu grabbed the remote in his mouth and bounded across the room. He jumped onto a chair, then the back of said chair, wiggled his behind, and with another jump and a leap, he managed to get to the top of a bookshelf that just so happened to be a foot shorter than the wall's full height. Gleefully, the mouse pokemon resumed his channel surfing.
He didn't have to surf long, and stopped when he found a channel that was playing some movie with lots of explosions. He didn't know what movie it was or what was going on - the only thing that mattered (besides now having control of the remote) was the fact that the show had explosions.
Odette didn't pay Panther even a second's glance, too busy still preening, though she found it amusing that Zeus had stolen the remote back.
