Surely this wasn’t the right way. Or so that’s what Florian thought even though she wasn’t really traveling in any particular direction. She was just kind of going with the flow sort of thing. But even that was proving to have its difficulties. The woods here were dense-overrun with a growth of vegetation even the air was thick. Florian tossed her mane back, dipping it down a bit as she carefully maneuvered herself underneath the almost-low branches of the trees. She snorted, glancing up a bit as she crawled her way out into a clearing. There were a couple twigs and small leaves that were proving to be a nuisance in her mane. She had tried countless times already to stay clean, but was failing. She breathed deeply as she could feel the warmth of the sunlight beam down onto her face. The warmth felt great against her coat. The forest gloomy and dark was cold. So it was little chances like this that she cherished.

Florian lowered her head and glanced down at her long flowing tail. “Ugh!” she swayed it a couple times to get the leaves out. “This is ridiculous!” she snorted, stomping her hoof against the ground.

SQUISH!

A disgusting chill ran up her foreleg. Florian’s face went white as a ghost as she gazed down her hoof. She had accidentally stomped her hoof into a small puddle of mud. “Eww…EWWW!” she whinnied out. She raised her leg and shook her hoof. Dirty water and mud dripped off of it. “Gross,” she made a face as she stepped back and began to wipe her hoof against a patch of grass.

There was a time once that Florian didn’t mind getting dirty, but nowadays she seemed more obsessed with her appearance.

She exhaled deeply with her nostrils flaring as she took a gander around. Each direction looked the same. She wondered if she would ever get out of these dark woods.

Even Calibor wasn't having one of his better days, he hated this icky dense forest about as much as the next Soquili. It wasn't about getting muddy, or all the falling leave that were sticking to his mane. Nope, it was all about the cold air, which seemed to stick to him as he moved about. He hated the chill of it, it felt like an ominous warning hanging about his day. He was surprised that it wasn't raining, that would be the last puzzle piece to make this miserable day complete. At least he knew the trees couldn't go on like this forever, he knew eventually they would have to spread out, there had to be a younger half to this forest and he vaguely had an idea of which direction that would be in.

That when he froze, he had been hearing a bit of racket for a while now. But, he had simply assumed the cause behind it had been a few wild animals running about, maybe a few critters chasing each other. The noise that made him pause had been a whine actually, a noise that obviously came from someone very annoyed. The next sound her heard, was definitely a word. "Gross! He wasn't alone in these woods at all, which surprised him. Who would be silly enough to come though here is they cared about not being gross?

He headed toward the small tromping sounds, and wasn't surprised at all to discover the mare before she spotted him. He observed her quietly for a few second, and she looked totally out of place. With her crown or black roses, and the matching chain around her neck. What in the world was such a lovely mare doing out here on her own? Well, obviously lost, but it didn't take a genius to figure that out. He was sure she was as aware of her situation as he was. He rolled his eyes a bit, but in the end decided this wasn't such a terrible thing. It was like someone wanted to make his day a little brighter.

So, he threw on his usual smug smile and stepped a bit closer, giving the mare a good look at him, but still keeping enough distance between them encase he accidentally spooked her or she just didn't want to have anything to do with him.

"Hey. Having some trouble maneuvering through the mud?" Suddenly he was aware that he wasn't doing much better himself. He probably looked like he'd actually rolled on the forest floor. He gave himself a good shake, knocking out a good number of the leaves stuck to him, and a bit of the mud as well. The chain around his neck rattled as he did, and once again he was reminded of his sister back with the rest of his family. he shook his head and returned he green gaze back to the mare a few feet in front of him.

Florian’s ears swiveled as she glanced over her shoulder to see a stallion standing some feet away from her. She tilted her head to the side, not yet saying anything, as she looked the male up and down. She couldn’t figure out why he would be mucking around within these woodlands, as they were so thick and the air so dense. But then again it wasn’t any of her business. She snorted; pulling her head away from him as she began to take some leaves and twigs out from the lower ends of her mane before grooming her tail. After a few moments she turned back to the stallion by turning her body so that she faced him. She took a gander at him in silence before laughing softly. “Seems to me that you’re having trouble too,” she grimaced taking notice of the leaves and mud that stuck onto him. She made a face as she looked away. “I’m only trying to find my way out of here. I seemed to have taken a wrong turn somewhere back there,” she motioned her head behind her. “Though I’m pretty sure that I’m going the right way,” she nodded her head sounding convincing, though she hadn’t a clue which way was right from wrong because every direction looked pretty much the same.

“Now if you’ll excuse me,” she pulled her head back and tossed her mane lightly before turning around. “I need to be going now,” she said. Florian turned around, stepping back into the woodlands. She paused as she felt something tug behind her. Florian’s ears perched forwards as she tried to tilt her head to see what happened, but she had a hard trouble doing so. The flower band around her neck had been caught in a couple low branches. Florian stepped forwards, but it was no use. “Humph!” she stomped her hooves against the ground and again tried to step forwards. No use. She made a face and snorted in annoyance while tossing her tail. Florian then realized that the stallion was probably still behind her. Her cheeks flushed as she probably looked like a fool. “It’s okay,” she called out to him. “I…I’m just…um…stopping to rest,” she said sounding not at all convincing. Her eyebrows furrowed as she breathed deeply. Though she sounded as though she didn’t want his help, she needed it…desperately.

It took her a bit of preparation before she actually spook up to him, and when she did he was surprised by the first words out of her both. Calibor didn't know what he had expected, but it certainly hadn't been for her to point out his trouble. Honestly, he knew exactly how to get out of these woods, or at least he had a direction in mind. That didn't mean that it wasn't just a rough place to travel through, anyone would look like a mess after trying to wrestle there way through these dense trees. Still, he kept his face cool, only acknowledging her words with a little, mocking eye roll.

He glanced in the direction she said she had come from, and wondered if she was telling the truth. Poor thing, she must have been terribly lost for some time now. Then, she was already excusing herself, turning around and trying to push her way through the tree again. He smiled freely now, only trying to hold back a little laugh. "Good luck on your travels~" He called after her, and he start to move again, only to notice that she had stopped again. He wasn't sure what was wrong, until he got closer and she spoke up again. 'I…I’m just…um…stopping to rest.' she sounded nearly pathetic, obviously she needed some help.

He sighed, not an annoyed sigh, but more of a 'here let me help you' sigh. "Just a small little rest and then you can be on your way." He put a kind smile on his face, he wasn't exactly used to helping damsel's in distress, his brother would have been better in a situation like this. Calibor didn't exactly live up to his father's Knightly name. But, he managed to squeeze around the trees, so she could get a good look at the branches caught in her lovely floral necklace."Mine name's Calibor by the way. Just thought you should know your savior's name." He gave her a little wink, and then leaned in toward her necklace and snapped the little branches holding her back, and gently picked them out for her.

"And now, you should be able to trot along your way again. Perhaps with a grander exit this time?" He pulled back his head, with one of his eyebrows slightly higher then the other. He always acted way cooler then he actually was, after all he was just a silly little thief, avoiding his perfect little family by wandering around and getting himself into trouble.

“Well yes. Just a small rest,” she said. “A small quick rest. Right here in fact. Good place, no?” she asked looking around. Florian’s ears swiveled as she tried to take a gander around, but it was hard to turn her head to the side because of the small branches that clung onto her necklace. “Beautiful scenery, don’t you think? I mean. Seriously. That rock there,” she nodded her head to a small rock laying against a tree with moss growing on the side of it and patches of icky goo on it. Her leg began to fidget as she tried to attempt to free herself again, but was only rewarded with failure. She snorted in frustration and stomped her hooves on the ground in frustration splattering mud all over the backside of her legs and under belly. “Great,” she muttered rolling her eyes at herself. Florian’s ears moved again, lying back slightly as she could hear the stallion moving closer to her. Apparently, her pathetic little excuses weren’t working which was a good thing on her part because there was no way Florian wanted to spend any more time in the dense forests let alone the night.

She was quiet as he stood closer to her, turning her head away from him for a brief moment when he said his name and then tended to the branches that held her back. “Calibor, huh? Hm. Sounds heroic, don’t you think? Fits the situation well,” she said. Florian tried to maintain her confident posture, but inside she felt embarrassed and humiliated.

Suddenly she felt the necklace loosen, not feeling so tight from being held back by the branches. She stepped forwards finally free from the wicked tree. “Thanks!” she breathed deeply, smiling as she turned around looking at Calibor. Suddenly the grateful smile faded from her lips. “I…I’m sorry about rudely leaving you,” she said. “Perhaps this savior could help me again and help himself,” she smiled lightly. “By getting us out of these perilous woods,” she said.
