Volkaz'jin was having a bit of alone time. things at home had changed quite a lot since the arival of his kids. Not that he was complaning, but sometimes it was hard to get a moment of peace. He had no idea how his parents did it, and planned on doing it again. but then, they had eachother and he had only himself. maybe that was the difference? sure Ziya helped out... but she had her own two to worry about. Letting his thoughts run by Volkaz just kept walking, letting his hooves guide him to where they wanted to go. It did not matter where he ended up, he coudl find his way back, it was mostly just actually getting some time to think, away from kids and family fussings. Seeing as the weather was nice, Icefall had decided to go on a bit of a walk to enjoy the weather. It was such lovely weather--Icefall was sure that she'd run into some friends! Of course, that required some walking. And then some more walking. So, walk she did, and as she walked, she came upon a funny looking stallion. She'd never seen those things coming out of his mouth before! What were those things? If they were teeth, they were awfully strange looking! Icefall shrugged; what better way to find out, except to ask? So away she went, heading towards the strange-looking stallion with the strange things coming out of his mouth. He was probably really friendly, and boy, it had been such a long time since Icefall had seen any Soquili! Well, she hoped he was nice... he looked almost kind of intimidating... well, only one way to find out! "Hello?" she called.

Volkaz was really in his own little world that the words of the mare almost did not reach his brain, he walked a few more paces before his finally stopped and looked for the source. Turning his head his eyes lighted upon the mare, the teal-bodied one. Even in his out-of-it state of mind a smile spread accross his mouth, then one that always appeared when a new mare wondered into his life, "'ello ta ya too" his voice was a little slower then normal, diffently lacking the pep it normally had.
As she approached him, she tilted her head in that curious kind of way, a confused, cute look on her face. "Huh? Icey's confused." She spoke brightly, but... in third person. "You sound funny!" She declared, nodding with a cheerful smile. He looked and sounded funny... well, it remained to be seen whether she would "grow up" and realize that the stallion only sounded funny because he had an accent, and not because he meant to sound the way he did. "Icey's name is Icefall! Nice to meet you!" She introduced herself. She had yet to get out of her own habit, but hey, no one seemed to complain... so far. "What are you doing way out here?"

It took Volkaz a moment to process what was being said. oh, he was going to blame it on being out of it with the kids again, but he could not entirely convince himself that was fully the reason. "eh? I do?" was about all he could get out to the sounding funny. Volkaz did not think he sounded that funny... if she wanted funny she should meet Ziata, now there is someone who talks funny, "'ames Volkaz'jin... its nice ta meet cha, uh, Icey, was it?" The mare seemed to be the happy-go-lucky type, which was good, it probably would suit Volkaz to enjoy someones company who was happy at the moment, not troubled by problems
She nodded happily as she practically chirped, "Hi, Volky! It's nice to meetcha! You seem down! Icey thinks you sound funny cuz... cuz... Icey doesn't know how to say it..." She frowned as she tried to explain why she thought he sounded funny... but how could she explain? Decided to give up, she instead looked him up and down curiously before she blurted out, "What are those things in your mouth?" She was curious, for goodness sake! She just couldn't stand not know what they were. And he seemed nice enough... she even nicknamed him! Although she wasn't sure if that was okay or not; Icefall didn't really care at the moment. He seemed down, so she figured she should distract him and try to cheer him up. "Do you like snow? Icey loves snow! But the winter season's almost gone. Oh, but flowers are nice to see in the spring! Do you like flowers? Icey thinks they're really pretty! But Icey likes snow much, much better. Too bad it's all gone now." Her mouth just didn't stop. But well, that was just simply how she was.

Volkaz chuckled, she really was reminding him more and more of his brother. he waited till she slowed down a little to respond. "welp, I'ma troll, n' I talk o'bit like a troll." which was true... ish... he did not talk like his ma'ma or other troll members, but Ai'jin said that was becuse it changes as trolls move and talk to people with out the accent, "these 'ere are mah tusks. most trolls 'ave 'em. Though, how 'bout yah call me Vol? 'tis what most calls me" he was not sure on the 'y' added to his name, though if she insisted... well, he would deal with that if it happened. "Snow's al'ight, more fun ta play 'n, but I's like water better."
"Tusks? What are tusks?" Icefall was clearly confused. She'd never heard of these things... these "tusks" were completely new to her. She wilted a bit as she nodded when he asked her to call him simply "Vol." Well, she supposed it was easier than "Volky"; one sound instead of two sounds, so she was happy enough with that. "Okay, Vol! Yeah, water is so much fun to play with! But, you can't make hoof prints in them! Hoof prints are funny." She flicked her tail in a cheerful, joyous sort of way as she nearly glowed while she thought about snow. Too bad it only came during the winter season... well, she had 3 more seaons to wait for it to come again. She wondered why her mother had named her "Icefall" and not "Snowfall" but she liked her name and it was stuck with her anyway. "...Um, Icey was just thinking, but what are trolls? Icey's never heard of trolls! Are they scary?" Her eyes had gotten quite big as she tried to imagine what they looked like. This stallion said he was a troll, but he looked like a Soquili, not a troll!

the tusked Soquili waited as Icefall talked herself out... or for the moment. she was very talkative, but he did not mind that, he was us to his siblings. "Ya' see, ma' Great-grama was from a different tribe, 'ery south tribe of Soquili. 'ems be known as trolls and have big teeth dat stick out of 'eir mouths, called tusks." He thought about the snow for a moment, it was true you could leave hoove prints in the snow better then water, "But low water level make fer mud which makin' prints in. plus with snow ya never know just 'ow deep it can be 'n might slip way dern past ya' knees"
"...Hm, yeah, that's true! That's the only scary thing about snow!" Well, Icefall had never fallen deeper into snow, and even if she had, she would've been able to get out, considering it such fluffy fun stuff to play in. Too bad it was slowly melting and leaving! "So you live to the south? Icey's family all live north, which is why Icey loves snow!" She smiled brightly at Volkaz as she basically bounced in a circle around him. "So that's what tusks are! That's pretty neat! So what bought Volkaz out here today?" She was so hyper her mind couldn't really focus on any single thing in particular. Well, she was also simply excited to meet someone new and different.
