Personality/Background:
Seila is from a small part of Halloween where most of the residents are Nagual, very few who come from outside are not. Where she is from just about every Nagual has control over their abilities, except for Seila. Even most of the very young children who are being taught by their parents how to control their shifting and how to use curses are better than Seila. It’s always been this way for her. She has always been different, but among those of her community she is a freak among freaks, which Seila was not happy about.
From a very young age, when her parents figured out the hard way that Seila couldn’t control that which should come natural to her, she was told to pretty much stay inside and out of trouble, basically to hide away. Her parents loved her dearly; they just didn’t want her to get into something too deep that she couldn’t get out of because she had no self control over her curses and her shifting. To Seila though, she thought herself a burden on her parents. In turn she always tried to do her best at everything else: cooking, sewing, cleaning up after everyone, any form of work she could find, even as far as almost becoming a servant for anyone who asked of her. To her, this made up for not being able to be in control of her curses and shifting.
Due to her not being able to properly shift and to control her magics, Seila acts different from those of her kind, she isn’t spiteful and doesn’t always want revenge for petty things, she doesn’t like to play pranks on others by cursing them (mostly because she doesn’t like to, but also because the curse could come back on her), and she isn’t hateful by nature. She's a very down to earth kind of girl, the kind with low self esteem and always trying to please others as best she can. She really just wants to be in control of herself so she doesn’t seem like a failure.
She really doesn’t like it when someone is disappointed in her or let down because she wasn’t able to do something or do it right. She always tries her hardest at whatever she can, even if it’s something she is either not naturally god at or likes very much, if someone is counting on her she wants to do it right. If it seems she made someone upset, did something wrong, basically seemed to makes someone unhappy in any way (even herself), two things could happen. She could either get very depressed and mope around and stay away from others as her own punishment, telling herself she isn’t good enough, or in some cases she could get so angry with herself and the situation she could lose control of herself and shift without meaning to. If this is the case she usually goes on a rampage and runs off, there is a very small chance she would ever attack anyone, mostly she goes and runs off and destroys some trees or boulders that she can find. Either way, she is very rough on herself if anything goes wrong.
Now the one thing that really gets in Seila’s way is that her things are her things. She is very private about her personal life and about her property, even if it’s some writing in her notebook. She really doesn’t like others to touch, or in some cases even look at, her things. Its believed this came about due to her thinking she was never good enough and thought everything of hers was not good enough, or the fact that she had been pretty secluded for so long she got used to others leaving her and her things alone. This problem really gets in her way with trust as well, she may let others use her and she does everything for them, but that doesn’t always necessarily mean she trusts them. She’s never really had anyone in her life she was able to trust completely and so for her it’s hard to give that out so easily. If she ever lets you into her room, or even look at her notes, you know she is letting you get close to her, even a little bit.
Now, with the trust and her being very secretive about her things, there lie problems. If she ever lost something of hers due to her own clumsiness, she would never let herself forget it if she did, and someone else found it she would very much freak out. She wouldn’t freak out at the person, more at herself. Getting whatever item back as soon as possible would be the main priority. If it is found in another’s possession, she would more likely ask for it back, and if refused she would find some way to forcibly get it back, the last resort would be shifting (last resort meaning she would get so upset she would shift and make sure she got it back, not being in much control of her actions so damages may be done without meaning to).
Seila doesn’t take to betrayal very well, if she gives you some of her trust, even a little, she expects to keep building trust, not to have someone take it and throw it away or stomp on it. It’s something she takes very seriously so when she is betrayed by anyone, she doesn’t take it lightly. She can usually hold her anger and frustration in, but when it comes to being betrayed she can barely hold herself together. For a normally kind and shy girl, she does a complete turnaround, she will be enraged, storming off so she doesn’t yell at anyone, disappearing for times on end to find a release for her pent up emotions. Again on the rare occasion she may shift. Depending on who it was that betrayed her, the things that had already passed that day, and how bad the betrayal was depends on how she will handle it. This is something that the other students will want to make sure they do not do unless they really want her to show a side of her that not only others won’t like, but she herself tries to hide from others.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy?
Seila was sent here partially by her parents and partially at her own request. She has a problem with controlling herself when she shifts into her animal form, and her magics are out of control. When she wishes she could un-curse someone, she instead puts another curse on them she herself cannot take off, same with wanting to curse someone, it either doesn't happen or goes to another unsuspecting victim, herself even being one. As for her shifting, she loses consciousness some of the time, and her animalistic nature takes over and she doesn't complete her task. She herself wants to get this in control so she may actually make her parents proud, her parents want her to get control so they can stop having to clean up after her.
Natural Ability:
Shape shifting: Seila can shift partially into the form of her tonal, her animal spirit that allows her to shift. Only some part of her body shifts so she may retain a human like form such as being able to stand on two feet, human arms but animal claws, etc. The only difference is that each time she shifts it varies as to what may change from human to animal by the environment or situation she is in. She can’t control what shifts and what does not, but she wishes she could.
FEAR:
Curse: Seila can use her FEAR to place different curses on her opponents, maybe one to slow their muscle movement, temporarily blind them, or even confuse them. The only problem with this is that she doesn't always have control over her curses. She can mean to curse one person and accidentally curse another, or use the wrong one. Sometimes even the curse comes back on herself, which is not fun in the middle of a fight. She hopes to learn to get a hold of herself and her FEAR ability by taking some classes.
Physical Description:
Eye Colour: A light blue, sometimes looking silver
Hair Colour/Style: A mix of black and gray, worn down and around her. It is long enough to reach her shoulders.
Skin Colour: A light gray color, seeming like she is very pale but with a hint of a grayish tone to it. In some areas she has a black spot/circle resembling the spots on a leopard.
Clothing Style/Colours: She is normally seen wearing what is left of a snow leopard’s upper jaw and top of its head on her as a hat/accessory. Her clothing is that of a pair of dark blue flair jeans, torn in several places by what would seem to be claws and a hole in them for what seems to be a tail. Her shirt is a loose fitting black and white tank top that looks a little stretched and also torn, though not all are from claws. She isn’t wearing any shoes due to the fact that she normally destroys them when she shape-shifts. Sometimes she wears things on her arms, like tufts of leopard fur, little trinkets she makes, even so far as some of the bones of a leopard to make her feel closer to her tonal.
Extra: She has what seems to be several scars on her body, all light in color thanks to the color of her skin, but visible non-the-less. One major scar runs over top her right eye, just barely missing the eye itself.

Original crits and my responses to them Matisha [ Critting time *0*
Not letting people down: Simple question, why is she like this? Is it because she just wants friendship and to her the only way to get this is by doing everything for said person? and why does she do that? is she scared of being alone so she must make friends? is it that she has no self confidence? or is she worried something will happen if everything isnt perfect (OCD? mental issues?)
It must also take a lot out of her to be everyone's lap dog, running about making sure everyone is happy all the time, does she not worry she'll get used by people?
and how will she handle letting someone down? Has it ever happened before? Is this the reason why she is like she is?
also the whole not letting anyone be her roommate, i can understand not letting people look at your work (I am like that myself) but what if someone really wanted to be her roommate? her personality will clash as she'll want to say yes to keep them happy! I agree that she can have privacy and trust issues, but to be friends with anyone she must find a balance. There isn't much point going out of her way to make someone feel special or helping them, to then turn around and tell them they can't get close because she won't allow it.
The great thing about her trust issue though is that you can have some cool RP's in the future where maybe someone sneaks a look at her work, or maybe by accident someone finds it and she loses said friend because i can imagine her freaking out!
Everything else works for her, i like her awkwardness with not only her fear but her natural ability that all species, i would imagine, take for granted. Maybe you can expand on that, did something happen in her past that causes her to be such a control freak now and want to please everyone? Did she curse someone of a high status back in her home town and this resulted in her been rejected, shunned by the community?

Matisha: The not letting people down ties into her being such a mess up at being a Nagual. She cant control what she can do, while others of her kind can, and she has always been that way. She has always felt she has let her parents and extended family down so she works hard to try her best at everything to please them and be more like those in her family. I should have put that in there more clearly. But if anything as well, i would think its more of a environmentally obtained type of OCD (ex growing up and always trying to make everyone happy becomes the way she is all the time and cant help herself)
As for the clashing, i would have to think about that. In my opinion, she'd probably do what i would and either find a way around it while still pleasing the other person (like make a secret room in the dorm just for her and all the things she doesn't wish to share with others) or she would have some sort of meltdown due to not being able to figure out what exactly to do. Though I'm not sure what would happen in the meltdown.
And for the trust issue as to if someone found her things without her actually showing/giving it to them, i haven't thought about what would happen yet. Its something I'd really have to think over. It'd be a complicated thing for me to type out and explain real well, so id like to think it over real well. Same goes with her letting someone down, but more likely with that she would run and hide and cry her eyes out, on the very rare occasion she would probably let all pent up frustration out with it and shift without meaning to and attack something. She would not have control over herself, id have to type this out more.
Now as for her being others lap dog, she knows this will happen and excepts it. She will be happy as long as others are pleased and her things are left alone (Again, if this conflicts with pleasing others it would have to be figured out depending on the situation).

I pray in my heart that this dream never ends. Holy Blasphemy As a technicality, I thought I’d point out that the main magic users in Halloween World are Reapers and Demons. If you want to keep the magic aspect of Seila’s character, you should probably change her classification to Reaper/Nagual. This would have the added bonus of being closer to the descriptions of what a Nagual is. You might want to read up some on the various factions here to help you decide what to do there.
I like that you gave her both virtues and flaws, since some people get so focused on one that they’ll forget the other. I do have two questions/concerns though:
How would she react if someone she trusted betrayed her, or otherwise broke her trust?
You say that she behaves differently then most Nagual. Does this include her immediate family? How did being so different from the rest of her kind affect her as a child, and how did it shape her as a person? How did her family deal with her being different? Bout the monster/reaper thing: I had debated over that a lot since she had characteristics of both and even contacted lizbot about it. She said it would depend on if the character mainly uses the magic or if they were more of a shifter of which category they would fall under. As of this point I'm more focused on her being a shifter than a sorcerer/magic user. The curses are just something she can naturally do, but not control (and she really only want to get them under control so as not to randomly curse someone when not meaning to)
For the betrayal she would more likely lock herself away from others for as long as she can without missing classes and she would not let anyone close for a long time, even going as far as those she was getting close to her would be pushed a little farther away. She'd still be nice to others and do everything for them, its just that if they were getting real close to her she would close herself up to them. On the rare occasion she gets really upset with it she may black out and shift, causeing an uncontrollable rage. The reasons she has scars on her is from this happening and got into fights. She is not aware of what she is doing when she has this much pent up rage thats released.
Yes she is different from her immeadiate family, and others that were in her community. She is considered a freak among freaks and is outcasted by the others. Her family still loved her but would have rather she stayed out of the way. This is what lead to her always wanting to please others. Its also but a big damper in her self esteem, she never thinks she is good enough or is doing anything right.

The only thing I'm really wanting to touch on is her FEAR, which is cool but even with the limitations you put into place so far (which are great, it really fits with her sorry state as a Nagual but also as a first year in Amityville) it might seem a bit overpowered. I would suggest having 3 curses max at her disposal at this current point in time and adding more to her repertoire as she moves on in years and gains more power and control. They could be decided by a dice roll, as well as what affects they have; whether they hit the target, don't work at all, or bounce back on her ;D Emotionless Dream Snoof: Thanks! And ya, I still have some kinks to work out with her FEAR, what you suggested sounds like the best idea. I want her to be able to both try (that being the very key word here) to be able to defend herself and have at least one offensive ability, so I may just stick with two at first and let her gain more as she progresses. The dice roll to see which one she uses, how much damage it does, and who it actually hits (if it does hit at all) is a great idea. I'd have to come up with a specific number range for each and which dice to use. It gives me something to think about. Thanks a lot! This was very helpful!
