The moon was brightly lit in the night sky, shining it's light upon the earth. It was a quiet night with a slight breeze; most creatures were asleep, waiting for the daylight. The moon was so big on this night that it was easy to navigate in the darkness, for those that were awake, anyways.
A young mare was wandering around, not sure where she was headed, not sure why she wasn't asleep yet. Her mostly white coat was shimmering slightly with the moonlight. The loose hairs of her braids were blowing slightly in the wind. She kept looking up at the night sky and then around her again, slightly confused.
She finally reached a lake, where she thought the reflection of the moon and stars were pretty enough for her too look at. Maybe they would give her something that would help her fall asleep. She wasn't really sure of anything, but she sat down near the lake edge and looked towards the opposite side, enjoying the twinkling stars and the gigantic moon.

Rajput treaded quietly by the lakeside, taking in the silent beauty of the night. He liked the quiet, and the way the moon shone over the land. It was one of the few days when he wasn't hungry and out looking for something to eat; he wasn't at all, which really surprised him. The stallion wasn't too keen on falling asleep tonight. As much as he hated to admit it, he was starting to miss his home in the desert, where he had left his family and herd in order to venture the world around him.
He continued to walk slowly, reminiscing about his family and friends.

As Xing continued to stare at the lake and the twinkling, she started to nod off. "Thank goodness I can finally fall asleep," she thought gratefully to herself. Her eyes started to close as there was a sound some distance around her, and her ears and head instantly perked up.
She stood up and started to scan her surroundings. There was still enough moonlight for her to spot someone, that is, if they were bright enough for the light to reflect off of. It was hard for her to see, but she saw some white reflecting near the ground and some more white along... someone's back?
With a little bit of fear in her voice, she called out to the unknown. "H-hello...? Who's there?" Xing feared slightly that the mysterious figure was someone dangerous. She was ready to run, but was unsure if she would be able to out run them...

"Hm?" the stallion looked around, hearing a voice. Looking around even more he noticed a white figure. "I'm here." Rajput said rather bluntly. "I'm not going to kill you if that's what you're afraid of." He stepped into a pool of moonlight, so the female (he presumed) would be able to see him fully. He pawed at the lakeside, noticing some wet sand. Forgetting about the other being for a moment, he continued to paw at it, remembering the sand from his native home. Sadly, it was wet, unlike the fine and soft desert sand. It squished unpleasantly underneath his hooves, frowning in disgust he stopped pawing at it immediately.

Xing was a little irritated. What's wrong with her being cautious? She'd heard stories about those that would kill and eat her flesh if they got a chance. She sighed a little bit; why couldn't she just relax and not be worried about every little thing in life.
"Sorry," she managed to mumble. "I just don't know what there might be out there, especially since it's getting darker and darker." Xing looked up at the moon. "Hopefully, nothing will block that moonlight over us so we don't have a pitch-black night."
She noticed that the stallion was pawing at the ground a little. "Is there something wrong with the sand?"
