In light of the fact that it was still winter, Val draped a long black coat over her negaverse uniform.Simply stylish, Val left her hair loose over her shoulders. To anyone else, she appeared as if she was a normal girl.. except for those who knew her.
Wandering around aimlessly, Valleriite found herself near an abandoned warehouse.. "Kind of dreary, though. I wonder if anyone will be here?"
There wasn't a single being in sight with the exception of rats.Though the Negaverse tended to hunt with the more "populated" areas, Val found herself seeking someplace isolated for the night. Not to hunt, but to relax. the last few months had been.. overwhelming to say the least. There were times when she simply needed an escape away from reality. it was then that she came to places like these..
Feeling a bit nervous, "It's cold out tonight, huh?" She laughed to herself attempting to fill the silence.

"At least you remembered to put on something warmer, yeah? Kinda wishing I had thought to do the same, it's rather damn cold. Brrrr!"
A voice rang out through the seemingly abandoned place. Looks like there was someone else there, besides the rats of course. The voice's owner wasn't immediately visible, but the energy signature outed it as a fellow Negaverse officer, and possibly someone higher than lieutenant at that. The voice also seemed vaguely familiar, though not tinted with the normal amount of pep seen from this particular officer.
There was a pile of boxes in a corner of the warehouse, just as abandoned as the building itself. They were in various states of disarray, overall looking like something not very stable to climb on. Yet, there he was, the captain that had answered her question of it being cold. His trademark glowsticks had burned out, but the blonde was still quite recognizable as Scheelite.
"So...can't imagine you're out here looking to say, buy a house or anything. What brings you here, hrm?" His body posture read interested, but there was something off in those acid eyes of his. Something a bit more piercing..maybe even threatening?

The familiar voice had her turning around in shock, ".. Scheelite?"
The sudden movement had the wind whipping her in the face, as she raised a hand to gently tuck it back behind her ears. She had heard that he had ran way, gone missing. Other officers speculated on his whereabouts but no one had actually known where it was that he had gone.
Until now, apparently.
She recovered quickly from the surprise, accepting coincidence as it was. In acknowledgment , "Yo! It's good to see you again Lieu- oh wait, now it's Captain Scheelite.. Am I right?" She cheerfully greeted with a teasing salute. She barely gave him a chance to speak, before she moved on. "How's it going, good I hope?" Such a casual greeting, it was as if they hadn't seen each other for a few days.. when in actuality, it had been more than a few months.
A glow-stick left abandoned on the ground suddenly caught her eye.
Picking it up, she regarded it with a half-smile. Twirling it 'round in her fingers, she began to toy with the particular object. In a nonchalant tone, "Can't you see?-- I'm taking a leisurely stroll down the streets." She replied, as she gestured to the dirty road beside her, "Quite a romantic setting, don't you think?"
She regarded him with thoughtful eyes, "Why don't you join me, captain? ..Perhaps, we can talk." Her voice soft, and strangely calm.

For a long moment Scheelite stayed glued to his spot and simply stared at her. It was almost unnerving to see him with such a penetrating glare and to be so very quiet. It was quite unlike him, and the longer he was able to hold his gaze and silence the more out of place (and even more unnerving) it became.
At some point he seemed to convince himself that she wasn't here to shove a bag over his head and drag him back to the Negaverse (not that Beryl couldn't just summon him right to her side if it came down to it anyway), and thus it would be okay to approach her. The blonde captain slinked off of his perch on top of the boxes and slowly made his way over to Val.
"Romance sucks." Scheelite scoffed at the idea of romance as he stopped at the other officer's side. Romance...who needed it? ...Though a part of him still desperately wanted it, but that was a headache for another day.
"Captain Scheelite is right, and...I've been better." Had she not heard the rumors? Or was she simply playing it cool to lure him into talking to her? Trust was something he was still working on, but again..no bag over his head yet. He figured he could -at least- walk with her a bit. If things went weird he could just teleport away, right? Chances were he knew this area better than she did at this point.
"We can walk..not much to see around here though, I can tell you that." Scheelite held out one hand, gesturing for her to resume her walk and he'd join her. For now.

Despite his lack of words, his wary silence told her more than enough. "Why so serious?" She wondered, with a curious tilt of her head. She remembered Scheelite as a happy-go-lucky lieutenant, but compared to this solemn stranger...
She had to have wondered what happened to him.
Turning on her heels, "..I'm not here to kidnap you, if that's what you're thinking." She assured him, with a dismissive wave of her fingers. A provocative gleam appeared in her golden eyes, "Even if I were to.." Her voice trailing off, her min deep in though, ".. I probably wouldn't stand a chance." She laughed. The last time they had met, they had left friendly terms—if that's what one could call it— and she preferred to keep it that way. She didn't care to make an enemy out of him, when she had enough already.
In reply to his desolate answer, "What are you talking about?" She protested light-heartedly, "There's the moonlight, the stars, the clouds.." She found herself cringing despite herself, failing miserably in her attempt at encouragement and optimism.
Her words failed to convince even herself, ".. I'm not doing much good, am I?" She grimaced, in awkward silence.
The whole "comfort" thing was harder than it looked— obviously, she wasn't getting the hang of it.

"Well I'm glad you're not here to kidnap me." Honestly he was, that seemed to sooth his nerves a bit.
Scheelite fell silent again, following along beside her and glancing around. Really, the sky was nice, and as far as nights in Destiny City went it was a pretty peaceful evening. It could be about a hundred times worse, and still Scheelite wasn't exactly that happy with the world surrounding him.
But he could try to put it away, at least for Val's sake.
"You're trying at least, you get points for that." He offered her a hint of a smile, the faintest reminder that somewhere in this stranger he was still Scheelite, that hyper boy she had met what seemed like forever ago. He was there, just...deeply lost in whatever it was that was troubling him these days. The blonde didn't seem very inclined to talk about it.
"Besides comforting those lost to the streets, what have you been up to lately hrm? It's been a while since I've seen you."
