Why the hell was my poll censored like that? I swear I didn't put those there!
Anyway, I have heard that OVA 8 is to be released in Spring this year. . .but knowing how that can be, I have a nagging feeling that they're going to probably push it back to some later date.

Indeed. 3nodding

For those of you who aren't in the know, the Hellsing Ultimate Blu-ray Box Set is available until January 2011. You can see Hirano's cover art here. It looks fantastic.

In other news, Geneon Entertainment's Rondo Robe label has revamped its official website for the Hellsing Ultimate original video anime project with the announcement that the third and final season, which will consist of volumes VIII through X, will be animated by the studios Graphinica and Kelmadick. Q-Tec established Graphinica last year after acquiring the digital video division of the anime studio GONZO. That digital video division was responsible for the computer animation work in Blue Submarine No. 6, Yukikaze, and other titles that helped establish GONZO's brand. Kelmadick has worked for years as a subcontracting anime studio on such titles as Bleach, Zoids Genesis, and Hellsing Ultimate itself.

In case you missed it, it ends where it began: with studio GONZO. lol

Anyway, because of all of this, OVA VIII was not released in 2010, as was originally intended. According to the first trailer, which appears in the first 50 seconds of this Comiket video, OVA VIII is due out Spring 2011. It's looking pretty sexy. cool

Here is an image of Vlad which was posted on the OVA's official website:

Anyway, 2011 is shaping up to be quite an eventful year for Hellsing fans, what with the release of OVA VIII in Japan, as well as the English dubs of V, VI, and VII in America, and possibly the first volume of Drifters. At long last, our patience is paying off! blaugh

I can't wait until the English dubs finally come out. I was really getting sick of waiting. That is an awesome picture of Vlad, by the way. I wouldn't expect them to use such bright colors.
I didn't know that Drifters is being released here, too! Freakin' sweet! Now I have something else to save up for! twisted

It wouldn't be a surprise. It took almost every single a volume of the manga a year and a half to come out. I've got plenty of things to distract me until then. Like this somewhat new anime called H.O.T.D or High School Of The Dead. Which is good so far. With a great deal of Fan service. No really wacth the first episode and you'll see almost a season of anime fan service in that one episode. Acctually did OVA 7 come out? I don't really know. Or was OVA 7 the last one I saw. Hm. I don't remeber. I've never heard of Drifters. Any good?

I've been distracting myself pretty well, too.(almost. . .too well. . . ninja ) I'm just relieved they're finally going to release it. And to think I actually thought this year would suck! sweatdrop (knocks on wood)EDIT: OVA 7 is out and Drifters is Hirano's new series.

Oh ok. I'll probably try to get all of the Case Closed Volumes beofre I try that serise. Becuase theres a chance it'll take a year and a half for one new volume.(42 volumes, 600+ episodes in Japennse, about 15 movies one is supposed to be realsed this year, and only 130 episodes in english, ya thats a lot of work I have to do)

They're not using those colors. They're purely for production purposes. If you watch the trailer, you'll see what the finished product will probably look like.

Highschool of the Dead is certainly an interesting series. Did you notice one of the characters is named after Kouta Hirano, the mangaka that gave us Hellsing?

OVA VII was indeed the last episode to be released in Japan (in America, OVA IV as the last episode to be released).

Drifters is Hirano's new series. It is set in a fantasy world in which humans and demihumans (elves, dwarves, hobbits, etc.) once fought a great war. The humans won, and now the demihumans live and work as serfs in human fiefdoms. The story revolves around a group of actual, historical figures (the Drifters) who are drawn into this world to do battle against a second group of actual, historical figures (the Offscourings), who seek to destroy humanity. The Drifters include among their ranks: Shimazu Toyohisa, Oda Nobunaga, Nasu no Yoichi, Hannibal, Scipio Africanus, the Wild Bunch (among them, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid), and Naoshi Kanno. The Offscourings include, on the other hand, Hijikata Toshizō, Jeanne d'Arc (Joan of Arc), Anastasia Romanova, Grigori Rasputin, and (perhaps) Minamoto no Yoshitsune (if he ever makes up his mind). Some of those names may sound familiar; others may not. If you're curious, look them up.

Acctually yes. I almost chocked on my furit water upon seeing the name Kouta Hirano but I think his name was had a H so it was Kohta Hirano if I rember right but I'd have to check to make sure. Although I think H.O.T.D might go a little overboard with its fanservice.

I gusse I might check it out when I get the time. Has it come out in America yet or do I have to read it online for the time being.

It hasn't come out in America yet, but DarkHorse, the publication company thta gave us Hellsing, has purchased the rights to publish it. The first volume will probably be released sometime this year. Until then, you can read all 18 chapters online.

All right then. DarkHorse...For some reason its always sounded familer. Oh right now I remeber in was the people who made an unlockable comic book in a video game.

Do you think it'll take th usal year and a half for volumes to come out or do think it might go quicker this time around.

Dark Horse publishes many licensed comics, including comics based on Star Wars, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Aliens, Predator and Who Wants to be a Superhero? Dark Horse also publishes creator owned comics such as Frank Miller's Sin City and 300, Mike Mignola's Hellboy, Stan Sakai's Usagi Yojimbo, Katsuhiro Otomo's Akira and Michael Chabon's The Escapist. Today, the comic arm of the company flourishes despite no longer having its own universe of superpowered characters.

I have no idea. The first volume was published in Japan on July 7, 2010. It contains the first 11 chapters. Here's the cover image:

There's nothing about the American release on Dark Horse's official site, yet; the "Upcoming Releases" page only goes up to May.
