Sassolite couldn't be happier. She had spent most of her time recently enjoying the company of her lieutenants when she could. One of them especially but that relationship was a little different and she was more then happy to let no one know about it... if at all possible. After all she wasn't a relationship girl.
Patrolling had gone well, she had managed to collect a couple of orbs of energy which she had quickly sent back to a general. It seemed this odd stupid purple rock was useful after all. She tucked it away somewhere that she could reach if need be but she probably wouldn't. It had been a while since she had used the thing, the energy it took was more then she liked.
Ignoring the thought of the stupid purple rock she looked about and saw a guy apparently looking worse for wear. She messed with her hair a little to make sure she looked good before walking over.
"Are you okay? Would you like some help?"
The guy seemed so bad that he just nodded and looked as if he were about to throw up. Ewww. She walked over though and put a hand on his back. One last ball of energy should make tonight worth while.
"It's okay, I have you..." Then she started to drain his energy, a ball appearing above him which she snatched as the body fell to the ground.
"You really shouldn't drink so much!"

There had been a recent change in strategy. It was something the tailless feline was starting to notice. It started with one encounter where ********* thought she had gotten to a scene too late, but found the victim perfectly in tact, just lacking the strength to really get up again. It was something that the round man would eventually be able to recover from with the proper amount of rest. The man's starseed was still where it should have been, which was perhaps the most important thing of all.
Still, this new form of attack couldn't go ignored. Whenever the pale manx sensed the presence of any officer of the Negaverse, whether they be Lieutenant or Captain, she attempted to rush to the scene. In all honesty, she had yet to really encounter a General, save for that time on Christmas Eve. Most times all she managed to see was the officer leaving.
Today she had managed to come across the energy of a Captain. As fast as her little legs could carry her, the feline scampered to the scene, her jingling bell making it pretty obvious when she arrived on the scene. Yet this time she would manage to see more than she usually would.
A ball...? She tilted her head slightly but refused to let her rump sit down. The redheaded Captain was one that was familiar to her. Considering her current weapon, she actually was quite a threat. However, an innocent was also a factor to consider in this situation.
In as cheerful a tone as she could muster (which was pretty cheerful in reality), the cat greeted the Captain. "So, we meet again, Captain?"

She had carefully placed the ball of energy inside a pouch she now carried around with her on patrol it seemed like the most sensible thing to do as these things were so delicate. It was then that voice hit her and as she turned she called her weapon facing. As she faced the cat she let the arrows go, some low and some high in case the stupid cat decided to become human again.
"Came to die p***y cat? Well I suppose every animal needs putting down at some point." She smirked her bow and arrow still pointing towards the grey cat. Sass hated this cat with a passion, no it was more then that she wanted this cat dead, and then she would stuff it and it could live in the nega sub-space as a reminder of all that is stupid about these bloody cats.
She walked away from the now slouched body and headed towards the cat. Oh she could not wait to feel that animals neck between her hands as she broke it. Today there would be one less cat in the world... and it's not like she would be missed.

There really hadn't been much time before the cat had to react. She noted the ball being placed some place towards the redhead's side (alas, ********* didn't have a good enough look to see the pouch) before the weapon was summoned forward. Rather than remain a sitting duck, the feline ran to the nearest hiding space, which was a nearby alleyway. The sounds of arrows whizzing in her direction made her ears pin back slightly, and every so often she felt as if an arrow had just barely missed her. ********* would mentally blame it on her imagination more than anything. She rounded a corner, arrows flying above and around her. Even when the cat was out of sight, it was still pretty easy to hear her, with that bell about her neck jingling like crazy.
Finding herself some safety behind one side of a dumpster at the moment, the cat had to ask the question. "You obviously take archery very seriously, Captain. Would I be correct in assuming it is one of your hobbies?" Yes, the manx was here, running and hiding for her life, and she was still trying to hold a conversation. Even with her poor tiny feline heart pumping so hard that it felt like the organ was going to pop out of her chest, her voice sounded as if nothing was wrong. Nothing at all.

The question from the cat came as quite a surprise she wasn't expecting anything so normal from the cat especially in the middle of the fight that they were very clearly having. She stopped shooting the arrows but kept the bow ready if she were to appear for even a second. Conversation couldn't hurt, after all she would be a very dead kitty soon.
"It's a good hobby to have." She didn't say whether she had it or not but it was pretty clear that it was. Even a nega agent wouldn't have learnt how to shoot real arrows from a bow with the toy she had before. The negaverse were awesome but even Sass was sure it didn't suddenly give you the knowledge on how to use your weapons, after all she could remember the training with her lieutenant and her hobby horse.
"You going to hide there all day? Scardey cat are you?"

Still from her hiding place behind the garbage dumpster, the manx called out "Well, you obviously have quite a talent for it. Have you ever thought about any other hobbies that are similar in concept, but a bit more exotic?" To anybody that didn't know her, it would have seemed like the small feline was stalling, but in actuality, this was how her mind worked. She was now thinking of circus dagger throwers instead of the arrows that could possibly injure her or end her life.
There was a slight shift in feeling of that alleyway. One moment, there seemed to be nothing special about that alleyway. Yet, within a few moments, there seemed to be a source of energy. It was something the Captain could feel, and it was coming from the cat's hiding place. Though she was still in hiding, the feline was no longer a feline. Instead, there was a girl with a top hat ducking down just enough so that she couldn't be seen.
"Oh yes, I am going to hide here all day, all night... Maryanne!" The girl chuckled a bit, having just spouted a small bit of song at the very end. Yet, very carefully, she began to quickly loosen one of the bells from her suspenders, holding the piece of metal tightly enough so it wouldn't jingle as usual. Once the bow had been untied and the bell was loose, the silver-haired girl held onto the bell and gave it a test jingle. It sounded just like how her neck collar usually did.
"I guess I should stop being so scared though, just because it isn't very funny when someone calls me a scaredy cat!" Even though she made it sound like she could have been upset, her tone obviously revealed she was still in just as good a mood as any. In her hands, she jingled the bell one more time, as if preparing to do something.
With a rather convincing "Here I come!" the girl chucked the noisy little jingle bell towards the opposite side of the alley. It was still quite a distance away from the redhead, but in all honesty, ********* lay in wait. What will you do Captain?

Sass was getting so very bored. She wasn't stupid enough to get any closer to the cat but at the same time her patience was wearing thin, really quite thin.
"Stop with your petty games." She had ignored most of what the cat had said in fact she had ignored pretty much all of it. Went in one ear and out the other without the slightest bit of care.
When the bell suddenly appeared though the bow and arrow was pointed at it. Yet it was a bell.
"Oooo that scared me that did. Throwing bells? Really?" Sass didn't move from her spot, she half wondered whether the bell was something more then a bell but on the off chance it was she made sure that she wasn't going anywhere.

This girl was good. Or perhaps horrible, depending on the perspective. Most would have reacted to the noise and shot at it. Either the girl was slow, or she actually paid attention to what she was shooting at. Considering the redhead, ********* suspected it was the latter.
"Yup... that was definitely meant to scare you... yup yup yup..." It really hadn't been the intent, but why would the Negaverse Captain need to know this. Just as carefully as before, her hands went to undo the second bow upon her suspenders. Once more, she had a bell at hand, jingling it a few times just for the sake of jingling it.
This time, rather than throwing it to the opposite side of the alleyway, the cat-earred girl simply remained in place behind the dumpster, throwing the bell visibly into the air so the Captain would be able to see, then letting it fall so she could catch it again. It seemed as if there was no point to this, but the bell sprang up with a playful sound, plateaued, then fell once more. ********* remained huddled low so that not even the top of her hat was visible.

Sass nearly shot at the bell as the cat threw it up but took a deep breath and stood her ground. She had no idea what this cat was playing at. She had heard these cats had powers of their own but yet no this one seemed to have none unless of course hiding was a power. Pitiful.
"For a cat you don't seem to like the attention do you..." Okay Sass didn't know much about cats other then they liked to rub against your leg. Sass didn't like cats, or dogs but she would rather a dog over a cat like this. Her youma in fact was dog shaped, her good little youma. It was possible she could call it now but no, she wanted to kill this cat with her own hands.
Sass wasn't a patient girl she had eyed up the area, looked at trying to walk round or maybe jumping up on to a building but she didn't know this cats power and that was what kept her in the spot she stood. Oh how she hated cats.

That bell of hers continued to bounce into the air in a steady rhythm, and rather easily the girl picked up on the conversation. "It's not that I don't like attention, Captain. It's more the fact I like staying alive and well. Last I checked, arrows being shot at me cause injuries and the whatnot!" The silvery-haired girl's voice let out a light giggle.
That bell continued at the steady up into the air and down into her palm pattern as she began to shift slightly. She had to crouch slightly more so she was almost in a ball, all while still making certain to keep up that steady rhythm with her bell tossing. With her free hand, she managed to remove her hat from her head. Her ears twitched slightly, not quite adjusted to the lack of cover in this form. Holding the hat by the very edge, she shifted herself slightly from where she was sitting before straightening up slightly.
Hmmmmmm
She moved the hand with the hat experimentally, eyes narrowing slightly as she seemed to try to figure out where to go from here. Once she seemed decided, her eyes opened back to their usual state. She inhaled deeply through her nostrils.
Now or never!
She paused for a moment with her bell, catching it in her hand, then scooted quite quickly to the very edge of the dumpster, but still staying out of sight. It was an obvious pause in the rhythm of that bell. Maybe a three second pause at most. Then all in one breath, ********* threw the bell up once more, but with the hat hand, thrust the hat up rather suddenly, as if to mimic her popping her head out into view.
Holding her breath, she counted mentally One one thousand, two one thousand, three one thousand, GO!
Hoping she gave a long enough pause, she then popped her own head to the side so she was also in view. The star on the cat-earred girl's forehead was glowing almost a hot white color. "Enjoy ********* Special Surprise..." she said quieter than usual before that star on her forehead seemed to release an invisible force in the Captain's direction.
Please work please work please work please work... All the guardian could do was hope now.

The invisible force was something of a surprise, though Sass had shot arrows at the hat she had notice ********* move and so a couple headed her way before the energy hit her. She hadn't expected it at all, she had seen and met cats before never once had they attacked her.
The hit made her move back a bit and she felt suddenly rather sick. It seemed to be a harder hit then she really had expected. To be honest though it just pissed her off. It took her a few seconds to swallow back anything that might want to come up and get ready to fire at the cat.
"That all you got?" You could hear the strain in her voice, it wasn't as cool and calm as it normally was. The attack had hit her harder then she would have liked but she wasn't going to give up. She wanted to present the dead cat to the queen, she would be honoured for that!

********* ducked back slightly before putting her hat back on her head. With a deep breath, she then bolted out from her hiding spot. Her green eyes were locked on the redhead, keeping a careful eye on the weapon at hand. All she could hope was that the girl was disoriented enough for her to be able to flee the scene. The sound of bare feet pounding against the concrete kept a rather steady rhythm as the silver haired girl with the cat ears peeking out from her hat charged.

Sass wasn't feeling well, it was making her feel rather sick. Instead of trying to get her bow strung she just held onto one of the quivers. She could use the arrow to stab if need be. She rather liked the idea of stabbing.
She wasn't sure whether the cat was running at her or away, it seemed she was having issues. She didn't feel well. She held the arrow by her side and waited, she wanted this cat dead and hoped that if it charged at her she could at least stab the thing in the heart. At least then it would be done and the creature would at last be dead.

As she drew near, the guardian was still in the form of a girl. Her green eyes looked to the Captain's in an almost playful manner.
"I'm sorry Captain, but I do value my life. Maybe we'll run into each other another time!"
She was about to pass the side where the redhead was holding her arrow. With a wink of the eye, all of a sudden the silver-haired girl shrunk down. No longer was there a girl with a top hat at the same level as the Captain, but a small cat at the ground level running off. As usual, the bell about her neck jingled with her movements, taunting the Negaverse agent once again, much like the other bells she had been tossing around did beforehand.
There was no looking back. ********* ran towards the opening that led to the street, and once there, she leaned into a turn.
No looking back.

Sass was hardly happy by the cat tricking her like that, she should have known the cat would suddenly shrink again but then everyone made mistakes.
She turned to watch the cat leave and cursed. One day that cat would be stuffed and live in her room... at least she could hope it would. For now she was heading home, there were things that needed to be done.
