History: While her cousin Matthew Collins was the cool jock, Gemma was very much a cool loser. Gemma was well-known around campus for being rather... odd. And, even with that, she and her cousin were rather close. Best of friends, actually. Whenever he had a basketball game, Gemma could be clearly seen cheering him on from the stands. And, though she hated Matthew's girlfriend for being a total b***h... she never stood in the way of it. And they both graduated together, Gemma getting High Honors, mind you.
Gemma was rather saddened when Matthew left for college elsewhere, having confided in her that he wanted to be far away from his parents, beforehand. Gemma, however, blazed her own trails! Breezing through the first years of college with ease, unlike another specific someone. After her first few years of college, not much is known about what happened to Gemma. Having gone abroad to study, effectively ending communication with anybody outside of immediate family.
What she studied and what she did over there is all rather sketchy, with her opinion on the matter not helping much at all. After a few years, she returned. To get a head start on her work, which was something rather... mundane, for someone like her. Gemma had gotten a job at an private school, as a school counselor and a stand-in substitute for the English and Spanish teachers. Being a rather prestigious school back where it is, she got enough money to live comfortably in an studio apartment nearby.
After managing to contact her aunt, Matthew's mother, she was rather excited to go for a visit. Gemma made adjustments to quit her job, then. Having been working like a slave almost two years for that jerk of a boss. Her plan was for her to go stay for a few seasons, originally. But a few days after Christmas, she was informed that Matthew had grown rather depressed after kicking out some woman he had been living with. And this did not sit well with Gemma; which strengthened her resolve even further. Getting all depressed and mopey over some girl? Pathetic. Now, her plan was no longer to 'just visit,' in case you were wondering.
Personality: Gemma is rather... different, from other people. She has a spontaneous sense of humor, which tends to make her not very funny when she wants to be... but very much so, at random moments. She's very close to her younger cousin, Matthew. She is very sincere, too. To a fault, actually. And sometimes, even indiscreet. Which makes for very embarrassing moments for anyone close to her whenever she spills the beans about some humiliating past event. Matthew is usually her primary target for this, it is unintentional, however. It's just how she is!
Job: Teacher
Diary: Since Gemma fears someone will read her diary, she moves it around quite often. Therefore, even if someone found it and put it back, she'd change it again sooner or later
