Noelani pondered the sky. It was dark, and gloomy but it was still hot - and that simply wasn't fair. She disliked heat enough to really dislike the humidity that came from cloudy days and hot weather. She huffed, standing under the nearby tree so that if the sky did open up and burst, she would at least stay dry. Somewhat. The leaves weren't exactly plentiful on the tree, she thought, casting an annoyed glance up at the megre foliage.
Wonderful.
A crack of thunder echo'd over head, startling her and making her flinch back, shifting closer to the trunk. Wonderful. Just...wonderful. She sighed, just as the sky opened up and the rain began to fall.

Blinking a few times, Fiey seemed a little distant as he stood. He was trying so hard to remember what he had seen in his dream last - it had looked like a ghost dancing through scattered raindrops. Fiey knew very well that his dreams were sometimes.......overly vague, but this was just....rediculous. Plus, it wasn't even raining yet.
For Fiey, his visions were almost like a game - see how fast you can find the future. It was fun, sometimes, but at times like this, when the vision was vague, he just felt in the dark.
Shaking his head back and forth, he glanced towards the sky; yes, it was coming, he knew, which meant that his vision was getting closer and closer. He tried to calm his nerves - there couldn't really be a ghost wandering around, could there? Feeling the first drops of rain bounce against his back, he cracked a devilish grin -
Let the game begin.

Noelani let out a low yowl as the branch above her began to shake, sending a shower of her own rain specifically for her. She frowned. This just wasn't what she wanted. She hated rain. It was just...wet, and uncomfortable and unless you had someone to cuddle down with, it just wans't fun.
She hefted a heavy sigh and shook her head, flopping back beneath the tree. Days had been boring, and nights even worse, since she left her last companion. They hadn't stayed together long, and he'd only been a simple distraction, but she found herself missing him. Not because of who he was, no, but because at least then she wouldn't be alone in the rain, with a wet head.
She glanced up at the sky. "Someone up there is laughing at me," she remarked to herself.

With a slight bounce in his step, Fiey moved through the tall grass rather quickly, with the markings on his legs making him appear to move even faster. He paused every now and then, mouth open and ears erect, looking for whatever he was....looking for.
Hearing a cry not too far off, Fiey squinted, the rain bouncing up into his vision. Such a bother it was, really. He took a few leaps in the direction he had heard the sound, shaking the wetness from his mane every so often so it would refrain from plastering itself to his forehead.
And finally....the game seemed to come to an end. Well, at least, this was as close to his vision as he would ever come. Before Fiey, just yards off, was a ghostly pale figure. While it wasn't dancing, it was still....in the rain. Kind of.

Noelani glanced out at the dark landscape, a shadow catching her attention, even though it was still in the distance. It was a murky outline and she couldn't see who, or what it was. It was probably a rock, she thought dryly, and shook her head, dismissing the shape as nothing but a fancifal hope that she would get company tonight.
She laid herself on the ground, her paws stretched out in front of her. She had to content herself for a long wait, she realised, and huffed, lowering her head to her paws and flicking her tail behind her boredly. Perhaps she would risk the rain and just go out there anyway.
With her luck, she'd get sick. Ooooh, she thought, but then maybe she could get someone to 'look after her' she thought brightly.

Seeing that the other figure made no advancements, Fiey simply grinned and kept walking towards it. As he grew closer, he could see that it was a fellow cheetah, only...smaller. Or rather, daintier.
"It's about time my dream came true..." He mumbled to himself as he came within speaking distance of the female. As romantic as his words sounded, Fiey's meaning was quite blunt. "Well, good day to you." Smiling at the female, he shook his body slightly, trying not to splatter the other with water that he had collected on his walk over here.
While he stood there, he let his purple eyes roll over her, trying to summ her up. She was rather ghostly, wasn't she? And amongst all this dismal rain, it made her glow a bit.

Noelani tensed as the figure approached, glad to see it shrink it size as it came closer. So it wasn't a lion or a big cat preparing to take away her shelter, but it...appeared to be a cheetah? Oooh, a male one at that. Her mouth quickly quirked up into a smile, and she tilted her head up as he approached.
She heard lightly mumbled words, but couldn't work out what he said, so she shrugged it off to reply to his greeting. "Is this what you call a good day?" She asked politely, her voice smooth. "I call it a rather miserable day, but still, good day to you too." She quirked another small smile, before pushing herself upright, glad that he hadn't managed to hit her with any stray drops from his shaking. How canine of him to shake.

Chuckling a little to himself, Fiey found himself feeling quite....mean. It was an odd, unprovoked feeling that washed over him suddenly, but he managed to suppress it well enough. "Well, it's always a good day when you find yourself in good company." Grinning at her, he tried his best to stay friendly. While she was a gorgeous female, he wasn't really...well, in the mood to be anything more than friendly to anyone.
It was a more common occurrence than he'd like, but Fiey quite enjoyed being by himself, because it meant that the future was less certain. If he kept no real connections, then the future would be something different everyday, something he couldn't predict before he went off to sleep. Though he was half tempted to flirt with her a little.
"So, did you just get caught in the rain? Or do you live around here?" Flicking his eyes around the scenery, it didn't really seem like a great place to live, but...

Noelani noticed his friendly attitude and continued to smile, hopeful that she would find some fun company for the night. "Flatterer," she simpered, her smile growing. Well, he seemed quite sweet, at least, even if he wasn't falling over himself to make her feel adored and wanted. It didn't matter so much, she decided. There was still time.
She glanced out at the scenery as well at his question. "I live no where," she remarked without worry. "I was walking when the weather turned and I didn't wish to be soaking wet, like you seem to be," she said, giggling a little at his wet fur. Well, it served him right to be out walking around in the rain, though she appreciated the company now.

Shaking his head in a laugh, Fiey found this female quite....interesting. "So it would seem like fate has brought you here..." Whispering under his breath, Fiey seemed to depress himself with his words. He had always had a certain distaste for fate - so much so that he fancied himself a hypocrite at times.
"I didn't have time to find shelter, miss." Focusing back on her, he grinned slyly. "Beacuse you see, I was looking for someone." Raising his brow in a cocky grin, Fiey was starting to have a little fun. He wasn't sure if he was going to just dance around his visions and pretend to be crazy or outright tell her. It wasn't the fact that he had visions at all that bothered him - it was usually others' reactions. Which had been another big reason as to why he hadn't made any emotional ties thus far - everyone he had wanted to get close to had a mini freakout when they found out what he was.

Noelani tilted her head, having heard his whispered words, but only barely. "Fate?" she repeated, amused. "Unless that's another word for 'rain', then it didn't really." She wasn't a strong believer in fate. If fate had such big plans for her, why did all the males she meet having 'somewhere to be' the next morning? Shouldn't she have found someone who stuck raound by now if fate had such big plans for her. Of course. She still liked the idea that there was somethig big waiting for her around the corner. For now, she was pretty happy with her life.
She looked curious now, a little disappointed. "A female someone?" She asked, thinking he was mated. Just her luck! Someone for the night and he wasn't even hers to take. She didn't like to move in on other's territory, that was just...rude. Plus, this got messy. You could find more fun nights, no matter how handsome the person was, there was always someone just as nice - without the extra baggage.

Oh good, she wasn't picking up on it. That always made things easier. But somehow....he still wanted to push it. "Why yes, it was." He was feeling rather bemused by this point, having turned this whole situation into a game of sorts.
"Would it frighten you if I said I dreamt of you?" Leaning his face in close to hers, Fiey held a slight smile - he was more focused on watching her expression, his eyes wide with curiousity. It seemed like it could have been such a romantic moment - or creepy - but Fiey refused to let it be. He had never really believed much in love, merely the aknowledgement that creatures didn't like to be lonely.
Dropping his eyes for a few moments, he withdrew, now reminded of his own lonely situation. Part of him hated being this way, but part of him was always so eager to push others away, just so he'd never be bored or disappointed with them. "It's all nonsense, you know. Shouldn't trust a word I say." Laughing quite heartily, Fiey looked up to the sky, closing his eyes. So this is how this game would end - being labeled crazy once more didn't really phase him too much, though.

Noelani felt a confused twinge hit her at his words, but her slow smirk worked across her face at his words. She didn't take them romantically, or creepily. Simply, it was a new way of flirting for her. "Well," she purred. "I haven't dreamt of you, but if you give me a chance, I'm sure I could muster up some interesting dreams of you tonight." Her tail flicked behind her, undisturbed by his words. Dreaming of her. Crazy talk. Must be just a line.
She quirked him an amused look at his dismissive tone to his own comment. "Nonsense can be just as interesting as any real conversation," she remarked, stretching lesuirely. "I like nonsense. It's far more...fun then scholar talk." She wasn't much for facts and figures -except on other creatures- and that type of talk bored her quickly. Where as this talk, this amused her something horrible and kept her on her toes.

Flicking his eyes down at her, Fiey couldn't help but start to laugh - and quite uncontrollably at that. When he finally was able to contain himself, he looked at her, his grin matching his mood. "You're quite intriguing, you mystical creature. If it's dreams of me you want....then far be it for me to stop you." Coming in a little closer, he stared into her pink eyes, wondering how it was that he was sucked into her little trap like that.
"It's Fiey, by the way." Bounding away from the tree, he stopped and twirled in the rain, watching the drops form a small circle of water in the air around him. "My name." Bobbing his head, he motioned for her to follow him. "Not afraid of getting a little wet, are you?" Giving her a wink, he laughed a little more, fairly happy at this unforeseen outcome.
