Destiny City was their town. Their place. Their home. Because of this sense of ownership and pride, Wolframite slowly started to discover every place he could in hopes of learning more of the territory that served as both his home and his battleground against the senshi. The docks, the bridges, the subways and railways, and even the suburbs and city districts. From the boardwalks to the underpasses, he at least passed by them, and tried to keep a map in his mind. With his ability to leap, jump, and teleport, it made traveling simpler and he found out much more about the city. It was also nice to, at times, leave the routine patrol path and just head in a direction, going out and out until, finally tired, teleporting straight home.

Tonight he felt just like that, and because the recent panic of the Christmas Eve mess, the cops were back to being more active. It was a pain, and instead of taking the main roads, he went for the back ways and soon cut through some abandoned lots and buildings that were either ready to be torn down or in the process of falling apart on their own through neglect. He was wary to land on these roofs at times, wondering if any misstep would make him fall through. He made sure to walk slowly and keep his eyes open for cops and any open holes.

It was during this slow movement from roof to roof that he noticed something out of place. In the dark, something glimmered, and he noticed someone else. Of course not a normal person. No one aside from people wanting to commit suicide would be this high and, if that was the case, he could just take their starseed instead. Yet, it was the fact that, of all places, this was such an inconvenience for most people to get to. Someone needed skill to get here, and slowly walking closer, prepared for the worse, he felt a dawning sense of familiarity.

The jagged neon blue, the dark uniform, and a tuff of messy blonde hair whipping in the high wind from being up so high.

"……..S…Scheelite?" He said, but his voice was taken by the wind. He called out again. "Scheelite, is that you?" One had to wonder. As of late, he had not seen his former Team Enterprise teammate and friend. By the time he was done with other matters, he started to hear strange rumors. That Scheelite, a kid he just remembered gathering together with for a snowball fight downtown with other Negas, who always met him with a smile, a love of life and sweets, and wide expressions, was suddenly gone. He heard stranger things still. That he was missing. Someone said he had went insane – though Wolframite didn't think that just being hyper was a start of insanity. Scheelite always seemed sane to him most of the time. Quirky, but sane. Other said he was corrupted so much he was turning into a youma, but these were just sparked from other cases. He was guessing Tanzanite. Ever since that loose gossip went around, he once in a while heard fresh lieutenants mention it. He doubted Scheelite was going that way. He never saw any signs after all, not that he would know what to look for. He just felt he would know if he saw something. Lastly, others just said he was on a secret mission, and thinking this must be it, he left it at that. Maybe he was just doing important business.

He would have asked Z, but he hadn't gotten in touch with him. He had yet to see him around. Then he started to feel that, well, he wasn't close enough friends with either of them to really bother Zac and ask.

Still, he worried. Scheelite had been one of the most enthusiastic people he met on their team, and he had been one of the ones to make him feel part of a team. Part of a large team, and not just some recruit that would turn out to be a mistake. Scheelite had welcomed him as a member of Team Enterprise…….and as a teammate, he worried.

The blonde he remembered was currently enthusiastically leaning right over the edge of the high rooftop he had decided to perch himself on. The wind was strong tonight, it gusting between buildings and eventually up over them. Scheelite seemed content, a wide smile pulled across tired features, eyes shut as he just stood and felt the world around him.

He wondered what it'd be like to jump. To feel the wind all around you as you hurtled towards certain doom. Only, with his powers, he could just teleport away and live to do it another day. It was a tempting thought...

But one that was going to have to wait until another day.

Acid eyes opened at the sound of his voice, the blonde captain turning his head to see where the question came from. It took a moment but eventually he spotted Wolframite, a member of the former Team Enterprise and someone Scheelite considered a friend...even if he -still- needed to have more sugar in his life.

"Yeah, it's me." He called back, voice rising over the wind to deliver it's answer to the other officer.
"Good to see you Wolfy, sorry to say I don't have any candy to offer you on this particular little meet up..." Scheelite turned now, slowly (and quite reluctantly, it seemed) making his way away from the edge of the rooftop. The buildings were old and rundown, but he had stood on this particular rooftop quite a lot in the past few days. It was safe, he was at least sure of that.

Heights usually bothered Wolframite. He had a hard time learning how to jump on roofs and never pushed those limits to anything far too high. He also tended to still get sick when looking over the edge of a high building to survey the area below. Despite how often he landed with ease, with a sure foot and a solid sense of balance, he always had that brief panic grip him at times that his Negaverse durability would leave him in those most vital seconds and his body would crumble from the impact. During these times, he would take it easy and then dare to jump again, assuring himself that he was still capable of leaping high and falling fast.

That didn't mean he tempted things, and he tensed and worried for Scheelite as he toed the edge of the building before, with some hesitation, moved slowly away. It was as if Wolframite was pulling the blonde away from a very comfortable spot on the couch. This concerned him, but maybe more than it should have due to recent gossip.

I'm just looking for things. There isn't anything wrong with him. He seems fine.

In fact, Scheelite seemed just the same as ever. Perky, warm, and welcoming, he came to him without hesitation or the wild aggression of a youma or the antisocial. Smiling, he eagerly welcomed the relief that things were fine, but instead of leaving it at that, he tested.

"It's nice to see you. It's been a while. I haven't seen you are as often anymore. I think we keep missing each other. It's so hard to keep on track with people sometimes." Maybe Demy was just busy with real life things and, being in another school, Ladon just naturally didn't know. "We ..should hang out more." He ignored the rumors. Maybe everyone just didn't know Scheelite and, because they hadn't seen him, thought something was going on. People were too quick to make assumptions. That had to be it.

Still, Wolframite glanced back at the edge of the building where Scheelite once stood – and the way he took in the wind hovered there disturbed him. "How are things?" He asked.

The further he got from the edge he had been looking over, the more nervous he seemed to become. That ledge had been his comfort zone, his area of thought tonight. If things had remained quiet he likely would have stayed there a majority of the night before moving back inside to get back to sleep.

That wasn't meant to be however. Still, Wolframite was a friend! Or...he had been at least. Scheelite honestly didn't know what anyone was to him anymore. The world was so screwed up and here in the midst of rebuilding his very beliefs he found himself hesitating before the other officer.

"I ran away."
It was about the bluntest answer he gave to anyone who had found him up to this point. To others he simply acknowledged that he had been missing in action lately, except Tanzanite who he had poured his soul out to.

"s**t happened, I apparently can't handle it, and I ran away. Yep, I suck, I know. So I guess the answer is that things really suck lately. Funny huh? I used to think I was up on top of the world..now I have no idea what to think. The world is a b***h like that."
He gave a bitter sort of laugh, one hand moving up to run through blonde hair that had seemed to grow more wild since his disappearance. Overall, the longer he was in Wolframite's company, the more feral he seemed to be. The facade of Demy in his normal happy mood crumbled further with each passing moment. Something was definitely off, and while it may not have been as bad as some of the wilder rumors claimed it to be, it was still there. With every bitter laugh and remark, every wild eyed glance around the area, and every wicked little grin that spread across his features.

"Hanging out is nice..I've always wanted to do more hanging out with you dude. Maybe we still can, you know..once I'm back and all that."
At...least he seemed to plan on coming back? On a more permanent basis than just to turn in things. It was something at least!

"How are things hanging with you?"

He'd always been a worry wart, and in his time in the Negaverse, a worried mother for a lot of people he barely knew. It wasn't just duty. It wasn’t' the fact that their numbers were small and they all shared a common enemy. It was that he was on their team, their side, and once you had Wolframite on your team, he wasn't one to see anyone from his group get shoved out of the group – permanently. From something as minor as Dem's health, to now, whatever state of confusion Scheelite was in, he worried. He wanted to help because, well, it was the only thing he could really do. Just be there, because so few people had been there for him.

The look in Scheelite's eyes troubled him to no end, and he wasn't sure he was speaking to a sane officer that was two feet from the physical and metaphorical edge or just someone who was very stressed and needed to sleep. Either way, he wished Scheelite would perk up and get some help. He seemed to be burdened by a lot to think his life went to hell in a handbasket recently.

"I'm sorry to hear that. You know…., I know we're not the closest of friends, but if you were in any sort of stress or trouble, we could have talked. I don't know what might have happened right now to make you feel like you couldn't take it, but…well, were a team. Just because we're captains now doesn't mean we're not. If you should run anywhere, you should run to us at least. You think that if we can watch each other's backs from attack and keeping us safe from death, we could be there for you when you're stressed out." Or whatever it was Scheelite was going through enough to just run off and look this….worn.

He still worried that Scheelite was so close to a building, and the look in his eye. It wasn't just animal, it was almost youma. It sent shivers up his spine.

"You don't have to run away when you're overwelcomed. It won't keep things from being any less there when you get back. ………what I'm trying to say it that, well, if you need a place to stay or someone to talk to, you know my number, and we can hand whenever you want. I look forward to seeing you back at HQ more than just passing through. You make it a lot more fun there." He did, with his energy and wild ideas. He wondered what Zac was doing about all this considering – well, wasn't he and Zac together?

As for him, well, Wolframite shrugged. "Things are okay. Working with the team, patrolling, meeting new people." Well, dating. He wasn't quite sure if he was ready to admit that to anyone. "It's not all that exciting here on my half of the world. Just working hard and trying to keep focused. Been thinking about moving out, actually." He had new ideas that didn't involve the old life he once thought up for himself. He needed his own place to be free of making excuses.

"Hiding from my problems is the only way I ever knew how to deal with them." He gave a casual sort of shrug, and yet the reassuring words seemed to lift a weight from his shoulders. This wasn't his teammates telling him it was okay. This wasn't someone as close to him as Heather or Zac reassuring him that the world would eventually be okay. This was Wolfy, a friend and former teammate who while he certainly liked he never got enough time to speak to. If Wolframite could come up to him and say 'man, everything is going to be okay, you can count on us' then..maybe he really could count on other people.

The Negaverse especially. They were his family.

The wild look finally relented, letting the hints of normal Demy shine through again. A smile slid across his face, and this time it was much more relaxed, and even happy.

"Thanks though man, I appreciate that."
Really, he did. He wasn't sure when he'd feel totally up to going back or actively engaging with other people again. But Wolframite had eased a bit of his mind and he'd definitely be looking him up when he DID go back. Hanging out needed to happen.

"Team stuff is good. Patrolling is good. I miss that...but I can catch up on that when I get back too. I had training ideas. Ideas for big plans even. But...that'll come later. Once I'm feeling better."

And suddenly he looked very tired as well.

"Sorry I'm no fun Wolfy. Just...not in the mood I guess."
He frowned slightly, worrying for just a bit that he was being rude in pushing Wolfy away from him. Then again he had pushed EVERYONE away from him, now hadn't he?

"Wish you the best though...next time I see you I'll have some candy. And I'll try to be a bit more...me. Sounds good, yeah?"
The captain nodded to his fellow officer, before moving past him to head for another way off the roof.

At least tonight he wouldn't be jumping off of it.

The sort, brief glimmers of a smile were rewarding, and he was glad he hit somewhere. At least enough to fake a smile. Wolfram knew he wasn't the best speaker. He wasn't the best at most everything, but he tried. That's something he always did. Tried. While Scheelite walked past him, the shorter officer breathed out. He only had the best hope that the blonde would return.

"When you do come back…" Not 'if'. It would be a 'when' in his mind. "…I'll help with whatever big plans you have – if you want. We need more good officers like you, Scheelite." Of course there was duty, but he knew that duty alone wasn't what would keep someone out of their funk. Still, Scheelite at least kept to his duties at an officer to deliver his quotas and go into uniform to patrol……….or whatever he was doing.

"..and when you do, I'll even bring you the candy." He turned, wanting to address any lingering feelings the other might have. "…and you don't have to be sorry. We all have our funks. It's called being human, which, considering all we have seen, should be something you're proud of. No one said our jobs or our lives would be as easy or wonderful as any normal kid." And then again, even normal kids had it rough at times. Whatever was the problem for Scheelite, he was sure jugging both lives wasn't making it easier for him.

"So if you want to be more yourself, then just do what you're doing. You can't be any more you than when you're honest." He watched the other officer, wondering where he would leap off to and for how long. The wind on top of the roof was picking up, and a page out of a newspaper was flying up in the sky overhead, brought up from the alleyways running alongside the buildings. Wolfram watched it pass overhead a moment.
