The sun had just started to come up over the horizon line, though it was barely visible at all. Clouds had plagued the sky for the past several days and rain had come during the night, setting a thick fog on the surrounding landscape. Golden rays of the sun fought hard to penetrate the viscous mist, but the only product of it's effort were a few strands of light that seemed to dangle in the fog. The large male did have to admit though - it created a lovely effect.

While Helberd traveled between the fog, some rays hitting different parts of his form at different areas and intervals, light refracted off of his antlers and blue crystal necklace and tangled in with the other streams of light. The cold moist air was welcome underneath his fur. Weather lately had warmed a bit, so the air was a tiny bit warmer than normal for winter but the mist was cold - creating a peculiar, yet delightful, blend of the two. And as the air condensed on his person, Helberd couldn't help but entertain the idea that the weather was much like his mood - confusing and slightly depressing.

Lately the large deer had been down in the dumps. Lonliness had set in his core, rotting him from the inside. Not lonliness as in the sense of being alone, but in the fact that he had no true love in his life. Sure, he still had his passions to keep him entertained, like furthering his intellect and caring for the weak as well as his foal. No, his feeling of lonesome was of the heart. He wanted love! Of course, he had tried to find some before, but either the females had not held his interest or he just didn't feel anything. Sure, he'd made a stand with a female once - but that had been a mistake. He hadn't really felt anything for the female. She had been beautiful, yes, but also dimwitted and vain. That was sort of the problem though...he'd had never felt anything for a female. Maybe........ . . . No! Of course not! Helberd wouldn't even let himself THINK about that possibility. He was the very definition of male, of valor, of...of.....

Helberd coughed with embarrassment at the very idea and shook his head. With a great sigh, he continued on. He didn't really have anywhere to be so early in the morning, and he wasn't looking for anything in particular, except maybe to clear his head, but while he tried, his heart subconsciously ached for something he didn't know that he was ready for, or that he ever would be.
