After having spent most of the day with her father, Aarushi thought it was time for a break. She'd snuck away not too long ago and seemed to have gotten into the more swampy part of the forest. The ground was soft and mushy and the air was surprisingly moist for winter. Chirps and soft murmurs of crickets could be heard echoing off of the dark landscape. It wasn't even dusk yet - but through the dense foliage of the trees no light was spared so even a soquili with the most sensitive of eyes would think night had fallen here.
The young foal welcomed the dark as a nice change from her father. She hadn't noticed before - since she was 'new' to this world, but her father seemed to be...clingy. Well, perhaps clingy wasn't the right word. More....overbearing. Protecting her from every new sight or sound like it would hurt her or...harm her in some way. Even with her young mind she knew this wasn't right. She wanted to see, smell, and hear EVERYTHING! It was all so....INTERESTING! Why should she throw all these opportunities away to please her father? Aarushi had tried to ask him about it, but he just told her that young fillies and mares should stick close to males because they're fragile. She did NOT like the answer. She didn't really understand it, but something about it didn't bode well - not. at. all.
Pulling her cloved hooves out of the mud with a slick 'plop', she trudged on forward. Something told her that today she'd find something interesting.
