Damien wasn't angry about being brought to camp. Nor was he happy, or sad, or nervous. He couldn't care less about all the people around him, the happy people, bustling around the camp grounds laughing with each other, and having fun. He hadn't cared about anything but himself for as long as he could remember. There was only one thing that he ever showed any emotion about. His parents.

Grief. Loss. Loneliness. They are associated with Damien's mother. The mother that he can't remember, the mother who chose to die rather than let her son grow up in a world of monsters. She had failed

Anger. Bitterness. Resentment. These he associate with his father. The father he never knew. The father that did nothing while his son was out on the streets dying. The father that never cared for him. The father that was supposed to "Claim" his son as his own.

As he looked out of the window Damien sighed. There was Nothing he could do about either of them. And Nothing that his father could do to relieve his pain.
