Her father was basket sitting and watching over her little ones as she took a breather and moment to collect the thoughts that had been running rampant within her head. The day Had at least started off well, that was until a She'd run into a pack of hungry wolves within the forest, They'd chased her into a clearing, well chased really wasn't a good term for it.. more like she'd chased them. She wasn't one to back down and run from a fight. She did a number on them, sending them running for their lives but the fact was, armor aside, she was pretty banged up. Wounds from bite marks on her legs, rump and every where her armor just didn't cover. Sure it all looked worse than it was but she was trailing blood now and that wasn't a good thin in the peak of winter with food scare and the predators even more desperate for food. She'd walked a bit further before collapsing into an near by snow drift. The cold snow felt rather comforting to her aching wounds even if the blood and her vibrant veils did clash against the snow.

Alex was making his way through the forest, on his way to Eden where his family resided. He hadn't visited them in a while, which it was about time he did. He had no doubt worried his mother and father to death even though they knew he was capable, they were parents. Like all parents, they had their childrens well being itching at the back of their mind most of the time. His eyes were on the mountain as it slowly came in to view, then lowered to the snowy flooring. Horrible, red stains marked its beautiful, innocent glow and he immediately grew concerned.

He studied that it lead in to a trail and spread out his wings, gracefully bounding out in to a canter, dodging claws of the evergreens and following it until it brought him out to the clearing. The snow had blown over the trail faintly with help of the wind and he had to squint, careful not to miss an inch of color or any sign of another form of life. There. He slowed as he followed the last visible droplets of blood to a deeper, larger patch and within it was another soquili. A mare. He made sure to keep his wings spread out to shadow her from any more pelts of snow and to lessen the blasts of icy wind. He lowered his head and nudged her shoulder gently, trying not to hurt her further.

"Excuse me, miss?" He kept his voice calm. "Don't be alarmed, I'm here to help you."

She let out an audible groan as he nudges her but opened one eye to stare at him. Giving a small nod, she gave him a show to mean that she understood, not trusting herself to speak just yet. Her muscles throbbed and ached all over. "W-Wolves" Was what she got out finally after taking a few breaths. Of how she wished she'd had stayed a bit closer to where she knew her mother and father would be easily reached.

No use crying over spilled water though, what was done was done and she'd survive... she hoped at least. No, She knew she would. For the sake of the little ones that still yet needed her. Her head swam with reasons now that she needed to get back on her hooves and seek aid with her wounds. Hopefully this individual could help her out like he'd said. "Merashik, I'm Mera.." She moved her still aching legs in an attempt to get up after all she wasn't the smallest mare around for a normal soquili and he couldn't just drag her to shelter.

Alex eyes searched for an object to describe the word that left her lips. The wolves must have scattered either that or this mare, Mera had been strong enough to fend them off before collapsing here. He gave a knowing nod, having a feeling that it wasn't the mutant wolves and it was just the normal kind. Otherwise, he doubted she would be here still.

"Alexander but everyone calls me Alex."
He returned, with a charming smile, glad she was strong enough to move around still. He moved around to the side which she kept trying to haul herself up from and lowered himself, allowing her to lean on his shoulder and neck before he gradually pushed her up, hoping it would be enough to help her to her hooves; his lower wings were used to support the underneath of her in case she felt like falling back down. His ivory pelt now stained by the blood of her wounds.

"Do you live close?" He asked, eyes slipping to the side to see her. "We should get you somewhere safe so the wolves don't come back... Hoping for an easy picking."

With his aid, she managed to get to her hooves, though her legs still felt wobbly like gelatinous goo underneath her. This obviously wasn't her first bang up job to leave scars on her for her front legs still bore the faint scars she'd gotten with a mishap as a foal. Sucking in a breath, she closed her eyed and took a tentative step. "It's a ways.. should bee shelter near though.." She looked at some of her wounds to get a better judgment on them, see just how bad they really were. Some.. looked little less than scraped and some had really dug in. those would really smart later when her adrenalin had finally worn off. "Thanks, for stopping Alex." She offered him a friendly, gracious smile as she took another wobbly step.

"Your more than welcome." Alex gave a firm nod, he believed it was what any soquili with a good, heart should of done regardless of abilities. He watched as she struggled in her step and kept himself propped against her in offer of support. "Don't be afraid to use me as a leaning post, or to ask me for anything you may need." He smiled softly as he took steps at her pace, slow and steadily. Ears swiveling to listen out for any sly paws shuffling through the snow, or other predators he knew could be prowling about at the scent of her blood.

He looked a head, scanning for an opening in the mountain side. Distracting her would obviously be the better option. If she wasn't focusing on her wounds, or the drained strength that was inevitable, then it may make life easier for her. "Mera." He started, curiously. "Your garments, they're beautiful. How did you achieve such attire?"

She gave a sly smirk, she knew he was distracting her, but it was a welcome distraction. "I guess you could say that they were a gift from my parents when I came of age.." She wondered if her own little ones would gain the armor as well. Shaking the thought from her head. Se needed to keep her mind from her family for the time. Lest she try to force herself to hold out long enough to return to them. She looked at him a bit more closely. "I don't think I've ever seen one with so many wings before.. How did you come by them?" This was indeed a first for her.. She'd heard of soquili with one set of wings known as winds.. but never one with as many wings as Alex had.

Alex gave a knowing smile as she spoke. He and his siblings too had been passed down gifts from their parents. More material items came from their father and some of their wings, from their mothers side. He gave his wings a light flap, looking to her. "My mother told me that we are descendants of angels that come from the heavens." The mountain was nearing, it wouldn't be long till they got to shelter now. "My family share these wings, but were of diluted blood, we can never fly as high as our ancestors. They call are kind 'Angeni'." He shook his head gently. He had never tried flying that high, in fact, he hardly ever flew. His tail swept at the snow as they walked, to brush the snow over the trail of blood that was forming so they had a lesser chance of being followed.

They reached the mountain side, he spotted a crack and nudged his head to signal where it was. "Not much further now, a bit of rest and you should be as good as new again." He gave a comforting smile as they continued to walk.

She looked in the direction he'd nudged his head and gave a small smile. "Good a rain hmm? It'll be good when I can return to my baskets and keep my father from worrying over them.." She had a small image of her father fretting over three baskets wiggling around and all without the aid of her mother. She couldn't help but to mile and even give a small chuckle at the thought. Oh she was sure he could manage, After all.. He'd done a good job with raising her when her mother went off to wander around and seek adventure. "Angeni hmm? Can't say I've ever heard of them.. But it sounds like and interesting family."

It was refreshing to have a nice, normal conversation with a stranger, one that hadn't heard of the abilities of their race or that they were 'special' and clung to that idea. "You could say that..." Alex offered in reply to his family. They were an interesting bunch. His father especially... He blinked looking over her. "Baskets? Congratz on mother hood. You look young, are these your first?" He asked curiously, finally directing them in to the crack of the mountain. Partial bits of wind whistled through it but it was big enough to rest in and keep sheltered from the icy chill that the winter gusts brought. She must of been worried, wondering if she would ever get home to see them grow. If she would make it out of the white sea after the attack. He had to sympathize.

Giving a smile, she nodded. "These are my first indeed. I wouldn't trade them for any basket in the world." She grinned wide. She really loved her little ones even if they way they'd come about had been rather.. strange. Still she didn't fault the father any it'd been just as much her fault as his and she still valued his friendship even if she didn't harbor romantic feelings for him. Her mind was more at ease, no longer was it filled with the worries of never seeing her children, never knowing them as her mother hadn't known her till the day she had her little ones and her father brought her to see them. No now she knew she'd make it home. Watch them grow into fine young foals and later adults. All thanks to a kind stranger.

"Then you will make a great mother."He gave her a nod of respect. Anyone who felt that highly of their children, should make a good parent. Or so, he thought. He hadn't yet been blessed with that chance to learn first hand, but once he returned to Coraline, back home after his travels, then he hoped they would try. He helped her to a decent sized resting place within the mountain crack, then walked back to the entrance, looking up at the sky. He would keep watch and protect her until she was healed, or strong enough to return home. "Is there anything I can get you?" He asked, turning a little to look at her with a friendly smile.

"Thanks, I hope I can be as good as my parents were with me." She gave him a small smile. Yes her parents had been wonderful even if she hadn't gotten the chance to meet her mother till after her own young ones were born. Still she had been well cared for as a foal by her father and hoped to do as good of a job as he had. "Get me? No.. I think some sleep would possibly do me some good.. I'll probably be hungry when I wake though... But that's for another time not now." She gave a small chuckle and returned his smile.

"I know the feeling..." He uttered quietly, wondering if he could ever do as good a job as his parents had with his own eventual children. He bowed his head politely to Mera when she declined, much like his mother would. A trait he had possibly gained from her, or just seen it that many times it became a manor of habit. Hopefully resting off the attack would help her wounds heal quicker, the strength it had taken just to make it this far must of been exhausting in such a state but she was safe now. He didn't feel any more words were needed for the time being, so he kept watch over the frosty plain before them.

She settled down, getting as comfortable as she really could giving her state. Rest seemed so alluring and her own exhaustion was starting to lull her back off into the sweet state of sleep. Her eyes closed and soon soft sounds of sleep were coming from her. Her body really needed to take a rest, gain more energy and get better. Wounds could do a number on even the strongest of stallions but wounds would eventually heal over and become scars. But wounds came with a deadly attachment to any equine in the middle of winter. Strength required energy which taxed the body in times of little food. Wounds taxed one's strength, and when that all failed, one was sure to be lost. She'd lucked out. A stranger found her and had taken pity, stopping to help her. Just the thought that she'd been given another chance at life was enough to let her sleep in peace.
