Arranged Marriages, When parents hook you up to be married to some randomer... heh sorry bad description of it. Sometimes You get to know said person and such but Im mainly just going to ask straight out what do you think?
Me: I think it can be unfair, especially if one of the two people love someone else and are still forced to marry.( I know most arranged marriages are very difficult to back out of and have complications..)
I find it to be abit unjust in some cases(By some cases I mean I'm talking about if two people who dont know each other are forced to marry or two people who love some one else are forced together..)

Ehh, when is it okay to be forced marrying someone?! When the feeling is mutual? heh Sorry I typed that out quite badly heh, I meant its ok in the case that both people getting married love each other, even though its a rare and unforseen circumstance but its still possible heh

Because it wouldn't really be forced if it's mutual love. =P

Actually, in most arranged marriages, the couple isn't forced to wed - even in countries where it's still a very popular custom. The pair meet a few times and if they just don't click, they don't have to go through with it.
A few years ago, I read an article at this and how women who will have or had arranged marriages feel about it. They said that they didn't mind it - and it liked it, for several reasons. For one, the parents know their children and know what's best for them. When we pick our own partners, we're often blinded by physical attraction. It also gives them a chance to work on their education or career - they don't need to waste time flirting or going out to bars or any of the drama that's associated with it.

@Cleo: Ah, well, then that's news to me. But I only know what I've heard about the subject. And that is if you don't accept your parents' wishes, you don't deserve to be their kid anymore and you'd be kicked out of the house and no one woud take you in and help you, 'cause you'd be "that shameless whore who did not respect their parents".

It is unfair. You have to marry someone you love. God has provided marriage for a couple who loves each other, not arranged for each other. It is unlikely not good. A person has his will to choose someone he loves.

Many women are okay with it where it's popular because they don't really know anything else. My friend Sudha says married women in India have to wear loud bangles that will alert the rest of the household that she is up and awake; and must kiss the feet of each family member every morning. In fact, say you're out on the street and you run into your sister-in-law whilst shopping or whatever, you must kneel down and kiss their feet. She told me she never knew a single girl who had an issue with the custom (besides herself) because they just didn't know anything else.
