I haven't really done an in-depth enough study to have a solid opinion on this, so I'd be happy for everybody's feedback.

Are Fred and George just one character with two bodies? Can you tell them apart?

I have my doubts that an amazing author like Rowling would allow two of her characters to be interchangable like that, but I also can't say that I can see that they have much originality from one another.

Ideas?

I can't really see much diffrence between the two. They seem to be like two people acting as one, which is a little weird. I think they have more personality in poeples fanfics then in the stories themselves

Fred is more prevelent when they are not together. You see Fred more, and Fred talks more. George seems to only come in in scenes with both of them. This may be only due to the fact that Fred comes first when you say their names together (Fred & George, what about George & Fred?)

They just seem to be together. There is nothing I can tell about them that helps me remember who is who and I have read the books so many times.

I think Fred is the more imaginative of the two, while George is the one who likes to mock and tease everyone that comes their way. Fred can be the one you see doing daring (and often stupid) things to accomplish a feat and George is the one who distracts and always has a ready comeback. That's my general aspect of the twins.

While I'm sure others have found ways to tell the two apart, I truly have no sense of which twin is which. For me, their likenesses are too great, and their difference too little for me to even TRY and tell them apart.

I must say, I feel very sorry for Molly, for it must of been AWFUL trying to tell them apart as babies. O_o"
