He couldn't believe she had talked him into this, he sighed and put on a nice...ish shirt and stuffed his feet into his sneakers that were still mostly black despite the salt and ash that was crusting the toes.
"I don't even know your friend!" He shouted into the other room where she waited. "So why am I being dragged along to this!?" He paused and pondered if he should wear a tie...he elected not to, stuff it... hell he was tempted to just wear his hoodie and t-shirt combo like it was a normal day rather than some sham of ringing in a new year.
The only thing he wanted to ring in was some successful plots, to hear from Tanzinite for example how her little 'run' had gone, or to finally catch up with Lyra again damn her hide.... or that cat. He wouldn't mind making it into mittens. He glanced down at his hand and sighed before shoving it into his pocket and wrenching open the door.
"And don't...say it's because I skipped christmas..."

"You will know him soon!" She said with a small smile creeping up her lips as she grabbed her coat and final garments. Scarf and gloves now on, she looked around to practically drag Zac out of the room and down the street. "Honestly i have met him once... he is really nice but i kinda ah, dont want to go alone." She couldn't let him know that she met him a long time ago... both as civis, both really senshi. "I wanted to see him again, wish him a happy holidays." Not s very good excuse.. it was actually quite strange to meet someone randomly she had NO real clue about on the holidays... but to Elzo they went!
Meeting place was destined to be the edge of the park, under one of the lamp posts and near a fountain. Easily finable, but a slight walk.
"...You'll like him." Beth didnt sound totally convinced as she still dragged him towards the park, now in sight.

He was playing a game of tetris on his phone and after nine rounds, his phone was winning. He read that the game helped reduce stress and some other s**t but all it was doing was make Elzo say a curse around once every few minutes. The cold nipped as fingers danced around on the tiny buttons, the player mentally cursing the tetris gods and their line blocks..or lack of. The tetris god was a wrathful god indeed. So once more Elzo lost and was set back to round one.
Annoyed he began to open up his text messages.
Liz. Lizzz. Lizlizlizlizlizlizzzzzzz-
Oh wow now that did seem like he was bored and wanting to meet up with an old friend. With a visible sigh of white in the air, Elzo was about to re-try tetris when he saw the red head come into view.
"Liz?" He made it a question. Mostly as it looked like she had her younger brother with her or something. "Hey!" He waved them over none the less. Hey, wouldn't the first time someone thought he was crazy. "You a popsicle yet or still fairly warm?"

"I assume...that's your friend..." Zac grumbled stuffing cold hands into his pockets and glancing at 'Liz', whom he had only ever called Beth.
He hung back slightly, more than slightly cranky and waiting for an introduction to what he had already decided was a rather over enthusiastic person, and worse, a person who played games on his cell phone. Unforgivable as a social crime. Now if they made something -reasonable- like chess games for it he might consider it vaguely acceptable but to date he had only found backgammon, and that was only for the yPhone or Void, both of which were GROSSLY out of his price range.

"Elzo!" She said waving her free arm enthusiastically, even if Elzo had spotted them already she was making sure anyways. Liz was something Elzo called her... something only he really used. A nickname, real name being Elizabeth... she was called a variety of things. Eliza, Liz, Lizzy, Lizard... though mostly she was called Beth. The other nicknames were not often used because she would refer to herself AS Beth.
"Oh come on Zac he doesnt bite!" She said tugging his arm more insistent, wanting him to get out more. He seemed sort of like a book hermit at times.... He needed to get out more, too pale.. too antisocial.
"Trying not to turn into a popsicle, though failing... need a warmer scarf. Maybe a hat... though i look bad in hats..." She rambled on, still dragging him closer.
"Elzo, Zac. Zac... Elzo!" She said making hand motions between the two. "This is my elder brother!"

As the pair came forth Elzo was all smiles, even going to far to pull his incognito senshi friend into a hug. "Good to see you! God..It's been what? Forever since we last saw each other." Aside from meetings the who had only seen each other in passing. It was a bit sad for him, realizing how little contact he had maintained with so much having happened. Blue eyes gazed over the short boy and Elzo thought he looked just a tad familiar. "Big brother huh? He looked more like your kid brother or cousin." Blunt Elzo was blunt. "I see kitty Chloe isn't pawing around you today. She doing good? Oh almost forgot." He pulled out a small bag of cookies. The same ones from the health food store. "A little bit of a trip down memory lane, but, these ones are 100% fresh."
He eyed Zac again. One, Elzo wasn't sure where he'd seen the guy before. Two, he didn't know if he knew about the whole senshi gig. "Say..." Blue eyes narrowed down. "...You weren't in like..Hillworth were you?"

Something bright and curious flashed behind Zac's eyes at the name Chloe but it was smothered just as quickly with being referred to as 'kid brother' or maybe 'cousin', that in turn darkened to flat out suspicion when Elzo asked if he was from Hillworth.
Should he remember this person? His mind tumbled in tired confusion and he went on the defensive.
"why?" he demanded leaning slightly away with a penetrating stare.

Elzo was pretty oblivious to Zac being defensive. "...." Leaning over the other boy his own eyes narrowed in curiosity.
"....I didn't shove you into a locker did I?"

"Well he is taller than me..." If even by a few inches, Zac was still taller! That was until Elzo mentioned Chloe, that caused a few warning bells to go off in her head. CRAP Zac did not know they were senshi! As far as she knew he was not senshi either, so, in reaction.... Her eyes flew open as she flailed her arms ever so slighly.... ok rather animatedly. "No no! Kitty is not with us, she is probably out somewhere chasing mice or...whatever cats do." She laughed nervously, hoping Elzo was smart enough to pick up on her obvious 'NO. NO SENSHI TALK' vibes.
"Heeey... No fighting you two!" She pouted and grabbed at the bag of cookies with a smile. "If you do, im not sharing these!"

"I didn't realize you had a Cat..." Zac said glancing between them, what a rather...extreme reaction to that to boot, he tucked the information away for later only to have it rather side lined with the locker question.
He bristled like a porcupine again. "For the sake of all involved I would certainly hope not... " He said through gritted teeth. For him at least the cookies were less of a temptation, living with Dem and watching that much sugar be consumed by one person did something to reign in his own sweet tooth.
