Name: Lule Cela

Nickname: Lulu, Vuvuzela

Age: 16

Birthday: Nov. 18

Sign: Scorpio

Gemstone: Topaz

Blood Type: B-

Fav. Food: Steak. Rare. Bloody. Mooing.

Hated Food: Sweets. Cherries or anything cherry-flavored.

School: St. Magdalena’s Seminary

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: Bright green

Hair: Slightly wavy, a chocolate brown on top with a honey-gold on the underside of her hair.

Face: Tan, freckle-free, and a healthy glow

Clothes: On school days it's her uniform, she doesn't try to get creative with it, she might roll her skirt after school if she's going out, but doesn't show extra skin.
On the weekends or after school she wears whatever's in style. She'd defend herself and say she's not a follower, she adds her unique flair, but she's no trend setter. Her shorts might run a little shorter and the cuts of her shirts a little lower, but she's not looking to show everything off. You could probably find the kind of clothes she wears in your local mall. Maybe Forever 21 or Pac Sun.

Hobbies :

Cooking :
When you slack off of school work as much as Lule does, you've got some time to watch TV. Not often are there good shows on in the afternoon besides soaps- but another thing that panders to the housewife are the cooking shows. Lule can't watch without getting hungry- and inspired. She gives mommy a grocery list so she can cook up something nice and tasty at least four nights a week- and enough for leftovers, too! She usually brings some of what she cooked the night before to lunch at school, too. While she's flattered when people compliment her cooking, no, she will not trade for your bologna sandwich.
She likes cooking because it's like tinkering- but with good food!

Tinkering :
Now this isn't the kind that happens in a lab or a garage, but if something breaks she's sure she can fix it. Duct tape? Check. Super glue? Check. Problem solved. Not really, but it might work. She also trouble shoots technology around the house. It's not very scientific. She never reads the manuals but she might google why it's not working and seven times out of 10 it works. Two times they'll have to call in a professional, and one in 10 chances are that she breaks it even further. Whoops.

Eavesdropping :
You might think Lule is daydreaming when she's cooking or tinkering or (finally) doing her homework, but she always keeps her ears open for tidbits of information that might interest her. She likes to keep a low profile when she's on the bus between home and school or in the library so people don't notice her and speak more freely. She'd also much rather prefer knowing your secrets than you knowing hers.

Virtues :

Inventive / Creative :
"Taking the easy way out", her parents say. They also call her lazy, but hey, she gets stuff done. Her method could be one that people question, asking "in the time it took you to come up with that idea and make that way of completing it, you could have already been done with your task!" well pish posh. While her parents or teachers could consider this a flaw, accusing her of "not living up to her potential", inventiveness is a (usually) positive creative outlet that Lule enjoys. She takes offense when the sisters of St. Magdalena's chastise her with "the devil makes work of idle hands" but what seems like silly things is her problem-solving.

While Lule usually does things for herself to cut down on her own work load, sometimes she benefits people around her by saving them time or effort or money. It might not be an instantaneous improvement, but it turns out in the long run. She'll tinker with this or that and hopefully remember how it was before she took it apart if it doesn't work and put it back together that way. It does often take her a really long time to finish what she's started, though, and that's probably why others don't consider her work to be as great as she does.

Goal oriented :
Works on a task until completion. Ends justify the means. That is, if it's something she wants to complete. If it's a school assignment in a class she hates, please see the first sentences of the "inventive" section above.

Even if it is something she doesn't like to do, then once she sits down to complete it, it could take her hours to finish. She gets all kinds of wrapped up in whatever it is and doesn't easily let herself be distracted. Especially if it's something she hates, she'll do it thoroughly and be done with it (once she finally starts)

This plays into her flaws (picky, short-tempered), however. If it's a group project, then she may take over all of the work to make sure it's done her way. So long as it's done, done well, and done the way she likes it, she's a happy girl.

Strong / Grounded:
Lule isn't emotionally weak. She feels all of her normal emotions just like anyone else, but if she has a rough day, she'll feel down, then she moves on. She's not one for mood swings, either. Relatively speaking, she's easy to read or predict if you know her well. Because she's pretty good at dealing with her own stuff, sometimes people come to her to talk. She just tries to offer advice as though it were her, but sometimes there's a problem because she can't empathize because she believes there shouldn't even be a problem in the first place. She'll try, though!

Flaws :

Day dreamer :
Talk about schoolwork (or anything boring or non-gossip) for more than 30 seconds and she’s gone. This usually happens over the phone when a friend tries to talk about an assignment, but even in person she’ll not pay attention. Lule responds, yes of course, but it’s an “uh-huh”, “I know, me too”, “yeah”, or “mm”. She might snap out of it when she gets a chance to respond and say what’s on her mind without taking into account the ten minute spiel she just sat through, but she’s very good at seeming attentive while not paying attention at all. In class this is not as easy. Math and science put her to sleep so. Needless to say, her grades suffer and her parents are disappoint.

Picky :
If you're doing something around Lule or for her, it has to be done her way. If you somehow manage to prove that your way is better, well, she'll adopt it for herself, but that is a tall order.

She's also overly picky about clothes and food. "Yeah, I'd like it if the thread of the seams was a different color" or painstakingly picking out every piece of food she doesn't like or anything resembling it or colored like it, taking the next 30 minutes to finish until her food gets cold till it's all gone.

Secretive :
Just because Lule is secretive doesn’t mean you can trust her with your deep, dark secrets. In fact, she’ll probably talk about them so as to avoid talking about her own. She keeps her own personal life mostly in her room at home. She does this because she doesn't want people to examine or judge her. She's insecure in this way, and would rather be taken at face-value for what she projects to other people, and what she projects can differ depending on the situation or the people around her.

More about Lule:

Why she goes to St. Magdalena's:
Her parents are raising her as a Catholic and having moved to Destiny city when she was still in grade school (she went to a private, Catholic one of those, too) it just seemed like the natural next step. It was already planned for her to go there when her parents heard of the stigma attached to it (you know, girls with criminal records and such), but with Lule's grades slipping because of lackluster effort in the classroom or on homework, they figured they'd best get her into shape now. They can't tolerate academic failure because they have a lot of confidence in her potential.

She's not a bad girl- never shop lifted, cheated on a test or two here or there sure, but she's hot-tempered and that sometimes gets the best of her, too. Her parents believe the nuns of St. Magdalena's had better help her with that, too.

Hello, Puhterodactyl!

I'm not a crit staffer, but I just thought I'd let you know that it is generally preferred for characters to have an equal amount of virtues and flaws. This means you can either remove one of your flaws or think of another virtue.

Also, getting critique tends to happen faster if you post your character in one of the Stamping Threads (use this one, since you already have the character art). Even if you aren't confident that she is ready for approval, so long as you have everything necessary filled out, the official crit staff is usually quite helpful in getting things in shape if you need it.

Puhterodactyl

Hello Puh!

First, I'd like to make a small request! When we ask people not to modify the quest form, that includes splitting it into multiple posts like you have, so if you could please put it back in a single post, that would be very helpful! You're welcome to format as you like once it's in your journal, but for review purposes having everything formatted the same makes it much easier.

Second, I do have some crit! Right now, all of your virtues read very much like flaws. While it's fine to mention the downsides of virtues (or the upsides of flaws) you've put a lot of emphasis on it - for instance, in her "Inventive/Creative" virtue you spend a lot of time talking about how people around her find it frustrating or annoying, which pushes it into "flaw" territory, so that one would be helped by emphasizing instead how it's positive for her or for other people - like coming up with solutions that are unique but work better than the "basic" method, things like that!

Quote me if you have any questions, want further help, or once you make changes, and I'll be back~
