Everything was blending together, it all looked the same. She couldn't believe she'd let herself get into this predicament.
Daylene and went to try and find her friend Zaine, but had gotten lost in the forrest, and now she wasn't sure which way she needed to go to get unlost.
She had been wondering through the trees for what seemed like ages now, and was getting very frustrated with herself.
"Where am I?" she thought, "How did I ever get so turned around." She was on the verge of tears, and the light in the forest was fading. Whether it was almost dark or not she couldn't be sure, since the trees hid much of the sun's light in the forest anyway.
Strange noises all around her had started popping up, and were beginning to spook the mare. Anything she couldn't really identify made her nervous. She knew the hoot of an owl or the screech of a bird, but there were slithering sounds, and rustling noises that she didn't know what were making them. Those were starting to scare her. What if there was an enemy in the forest with her? Now she was paranoid. She began to move faster, still unsure of where she was going but she hoped that if there was something out there, that maybe she could lose it as she went blindly through the trees.

On the other hand, the mellow and careless Ferra was grazing peacefully along a few grasses that had been revealed from the winter's frosty blanket. They tasted almost as fresh as when they'd sprouted, and held plenty of moisture to quench her throat as well. Blonde tail swishing gently behind her, in a means of content, she closed her eyes to fully enjoy her meal; not at all concerned of what might be lurking about. After all, there wasn't much that she was afraid of, nor anything that frightened her.
Continuing to feast without a care in the world, she nosed at some grass that was covered, giving a gentle exhale from her nostrils to melt the white fluff. Her mind was rather blank, not thinking of anything in particular. She was simply enjoying the moment, as she usually did.

She moved through the trees, trying not to trip over any roots or fallen limbs or logs. There was a break in the trees ahead. Hopefully it meant open field. She was very much relieved when she burst through the forests edge, instantly feeling better about being in the open.
It was nearing sunset now, the sky overhead had starting showing a colorful pink hue indicating the day was nearing it's end. She thought she might try to find somewhere to sleep for the night so she wouldn't get lost again, and as she turned to look for somewhere, she was startled to notice she wasn't alone. "OH!" she cried, jumping at the sudden realization of another mare nearby. The mare seemed harmless enough, for one, it was eating grass and not charging towards her for a meal. She thought she might go over and say hi, but was unsure, not wanting to disturb the other mare. She called from where she was, "Hello there."
