Once again, Awan had been trailing through the boundaries of his home, 'collecting trophies' and even furthering the blood stains across his coat. He gave a snort after the first three and looked down at his stained hooves, thinking it was time to find a small stream to try wash away the worst of it.

He flicked back his hair, throwing the bangs out of his eyes momentarily - hearing the faint trickle of a stream. He headed in the direction, only being able to see the red that painted the front of his face, then as he neared the stream, his reflection showed the dainty red in the wavering water and he closed his eyes in silence.

Atiya broke off her musings and stood up. It was time to get going. She turned to her left and startled at the sight of someone standing there. Someone with bloody marks, no less! Her first thought was to run, but he wasn't currently coming after her, so she allowed her curiousity to keep her there. He didn't appear to be wounded, so the blood wasn't his own, she reasoned. So many possibilities lay there...not many of which she liked.

The sound of shuffling caught Awan's ears. His eyes opened slowly, lazily looking over towards the mare that was staring in what he could only of described as disbelief or disgust. He hadn't met many mares and non of which he had, had seen him in such a state.

He gave a low snort, as the warm, foggy air filled the space in front of him. Lowering his face, he dipped his entire head in the water, the blood dislodged itself that hadn't already glued to his fur and wandered down wind of the stream. Giving a milky pink look to it. Just like the odd coloring off her coat. He pulled out, looking at his reflection again, damp, his mane stuck to him like a drowned rat and he smirked.

"Scared?" He asked, aiming it to her but his eyes didn't wander in her direction. They remained on the stream.

"Uhm...I'm not sure." Had he been hunting? That seemed an odd possibility. She couldn't think of why he would need to. He didn't look like one of those carnivore-types. She wrestled with thoughts of asking him who he was, what he was doing, where he'd come from. He certainly seemed unusual. She settled for asking only one of the questions, for the moment. "May I inquire as to what you've been doing?"

She was vaguely aware of the gorgeous autumn leaves falling. Red, orange, yellow...she loved them all. The brightest red ones were best. In the back of her mind she felt it ironic, considering what she was looking at now.

Awan didn't know really what he should of been expecting in reply. This was normal, for his family. his siblings had all turned out... Strange, in some way or form. It came from his mothers side yet, it was all he had ever known, as this was a sly 'hobby' as sorts. She didn't know? He finally turned his eyes on her once more at her question.

"What does it look like I've been doing?"
He stated, more than asked as he raised an eyebrow at her questionably. He was curious to how she would interpret the situation. He moved his two front hooves in to the water as more of the milky-like substance floated away.

"There's a...lot of possibilities," she replied, which took some daring on her part. "I was wondering which one it might be." She stepped into the water herself, feeling it aroud her ankles, trying to get into this stallions head, to see things the way he might. it turned out to be too early of an attempt - she didn't have enough to go on - but she caught a tiny bit. She wasn't mindreading, just attempting to understand. She waited patiently for his reply, her trepidation beginning to drain away.

Awan smirked. What was this mare trying to get at? He wondered. "Name me, one of these possibilities of yours." He watched her, twisting his head to the side as his bangs fell over one of his eyes, the other blood red eye staring at her. She had dared the water even after seeing what was floating through it, even as the substance started to glue to her own coat. In a way, he was trying to test her since in some way, she was trying to understand him but that wasn't something he was going to make easy for her.

Atiya considered him for a moment. The blood stains seemed a little low for larger combatants, and he obviously wasn't injured himself. Her first thought was some sort of murder, but she didn't dare say so, partly because she didn't want to offend him if that wasn't the case and partly because, if it was, she didn't want to end up next. His attitude might have fit such a soquili. "Have you perhaps...been fighting with small animals?" she ventured.

Awan was quite surprised at the mare, she had almost guessed correctly however he hadn't been fighting with them as such, more like voluntarily ending their life. He couldn't say he was happy about it anymore, it had become a habit more than a deluded hobby. Depressing him, making him bitter about the world. How he had just felt so tossed aside his entire life. He was no pity party, he didn't want that, he was just stuck in a rut where he couldn't see any way out. He walked towards her, putting all of his hooves in the water as he waded through it, and stopped at her front. "Very good..." He paused, whispering. "But fighting is not the word." He looked over her more closely, she was pretty and very innocent looking. "What's your name?"

Her ears flicked, listening quietly. She could hardly make out the whisper but it told her enough...something she would file away in her mind. What could have brought him to this...? But she wouldn't say anything to him about it. Not yet. That was not what he needed, someone getting on him about it, she figured.

"I'm Atiya." She waited for some indication of what else to say. Perhaps listening might be the better thing to do just now.

He thought about knowing her name and leaving it at that, remaining acquaintances but, she had already guessed what he was capable of. The debate started in his head, eyes just kept still upon this mare, innocent as a bunny stood before him as the thoughts collided and disposed of one another secretly. Before long, he grew tired of the batting back and forth and nodded. "Awan..." He offered, stepping a few steps backwards. He felt vulnerable, the name leaving a sour taste on his tongue moments after. Too late to take it back now, he froze trying to figure a way to jump back on his high horse to rid the sour taste of insecurity.

Atiya was broken off in mid-thought by the sudden appearance of a large black and white squirrel, who immediately jumped up on her back and buried himself in her mane, sobbing. "Demo! Demo, buddy, what happened?!" she asked him, more than a little concerned at his obvious distress. She was also a bit amazed at his running leap from the riverbank. Nice shot. He silently started to pantomime what had happened, still crying that soundless cry but containing himself enough to communicate. "Oh...buddy..." Atiya said, visibly upset. "I'm sorry..."

((OOC: this is a familiar I haven't got certed yet - I just came up with his name last night - I'm sending the colorist the certing info now)

Awan's eyes narrowed to the new appearance of a smaller animal, making him turn his gaze back to the water so he didn't desire to do anything unjustified, as they seemed to accompany one another. He knew of soquili who were aided by small animals, the very same that plagued his needs and mind as a horrible twist. Just like his mother. He grit back the negatives and then lifted his head to look over at the two of them. It seemed distressed over something.

"What's his problem?"
He muttered. Wondering if it had something to do with the earlier spree he had gone on. Which had resulted to cleaning the stains when she came a long. That would be an interesting turn of events now wouldn't it?

And indeed it was.

Atiya turned and gave Awan a sharp look for just a moment. Sometimes her hearing was better than she would have liked. She softened quickly, however. "My friend found his family murdered when he got home today. And he says you smell like their blood." She turned and watched Demo again as he continued.
"My offer to take you with me still stands," she told the bereaved squirrel, gently. "No...no, buddy, we must forgive."
Demo looked perplexed. How was he supposed to forgive THAT?
But he decided after some deliberation that she was right. He began to calm down.

Awan let out a rough laughter, one that mocked her entirely. "How amusing can a timid little mare get? We must forgive? Come up with some better lines, sweety. I'm sure you can do better than that." He snorted, eying the two of them dangerously. She already knew and possibly did know it was something a long those lines just by what was washing from him downwind. The squirell was looking at him in both disbelief, anger and dispair. How else would one feel?

"You should be honored. You didn't suffer the same fate."
He smirked, letting his eyes slide away from them as he turned, swishing his tail in one swift motion. The air that spilled from the stallion showed how uninterested he really was in the desperate cry of the rodant. He didn't feel guilty. He could be rotton. Cold as ice. Not everyone perched a smile all the time. Even faked it when they needed to. Why was there any need to pretend.

"You should run along, you look so fragile you may shatter and I don't wanna be cleaning up your pieces too." He huffed as he walked up stream watching the river dance against rocks clumped together like schools, weeds clinging to edge for dear life, appearing to have no interest in sticking around and listen to the irritable babble coming from her small companion. He knew what he had done, so what? He did it all the time, whenever he felt like it. He didn't need to hear about it from someone else. He rolled his eyes.
