I went through the same thing as you. It's tough to quit doing it (well at least for me), I know that's not comforting at all but it's the truth.
I would highly suggest finding someone to talk to about your stress, preferably a counselor or professional, but if you can't do that talk to someone you know who will be willing to lend you a shoulder to cry on. Sometimes if you hold stuff in, it isn't pretty when you randomly snap...trust me I would know. I tried to hold back my problems in the past but I ended up yelling at my friend and shoving people in the hallway one day.
Don't be like me by not getting help from someone. Get any type of help you can get ASAP and also ask God to help you through your stress. Some wonderful scriptures to check out about worrying are Matthew 6:25-34, it specifically talks about not worrying. also check out Psalm 118:5-9, and many sections of the Psalms. start reading a portion of the Psalms each day and say it as an honest prayer. This helps build up your faith in times of struggling.
Also, try to memorize some scriptures. People don't understand why anyone should do that, but it's so we can rebuke the devil whenever he tries to attack us. Why do you think Jesus kept quoting scripture to Satan when he tried to tempt Him in the book of Matthew? We are called to be like Jesus, and that is one thing that He did for Himself that could help us fellow Christians as well.
I'll be praying for you. Whatever you do don't let any dark feelings veil over your faith in the Lord. Things will get better over time.
