Parks were always the best, or at least to the young phoenix girl they were. It seemed that there were always people at parks, people who were willing to gaze at her long locks of hair and watch her twirl gracefully as she fluttered about the area. In other works, she just like the attention.
Lydia knew that, and though she frowned upon the egotistical side of the child she chose to let her embrace it since it wasn't likely to go away anytime soon. "You just go and play darling, I'm going to sit right here and read. Mind you though, I'll still be watching so stay out of trouble." The woman could only trust her girl so much, and had to keep a good eye on her so she didn't wander off in search of someone who would watch her dance.
I know momma, I know." the girl said, sounding tired of her mother's lectures. She never went too far, even at home she stayed in the yard, wasn't that good enough? Trotting along, curls bouncing furiously with her she gazed around, there were still a good amount of people, despite the weather. Maybe one of them would dance, if she could find someone who looked nice enough...

There was one thing immediately and notably nice about the day: it was sunny. Perhaps a touch too warm, but it was sunny. This thought clutched tight to his mind, Card led Fage and Merit into the park bounds with a smile on his face. No, it wasn't that he particularly fancied sunnier weather above other weather, it was the mere fact that in such brightly-lit scenery, he'd be that much more assured that he could keep an adequate eye on Fage. He hated to admit it, but at this time and age, the wooden spider was almost solely trouble. In fact, he was fairly certain that taking the two of them out into a public area like this was a horrible, horrible idea that could only end badly, but he thought this with a smile. He could handle it -- he just had to keep telling himself that.
It was about that time that he noticed Merit tugging at his pant leg. Glancing down, he asked the starry-haired toddler what the matter was with a simple tilt of his head and a deepening of his eyebrows. He already knew the kid wasn't much of a talker; likewise, this was also the main reason why he found no problem in taking said kid with him for the day and out of Halo's hair -- between Fage's and Merit's personalities, Merit was a truckload easier to care for. Walk in the park! He could handle it!
Fidgeting a magenta finger to point mildly by the pond, Merit observed, "I dun' think the ducks like that very much."
Did he even need to ask? Before he even stole a glance, Card was already sighing a gruff, "Faaage!" Well, if nothing else, it was quite the amusing sight, keeping the smile lit on the man's face. Four wooden, clawed arms raised into the air as Fage bolted around the outer perimeter of the pond, mimicking the roar of a lion as he chased the speed-waddling ducks.
Merit frowned, feeling sorry for the birds, but turned around instead to ignore the scene. It was a few yards into walking toward the open fields before amber eyes caught sight of another child, who's ribbony orange hair seemed to catch fire in the sun. Was that just a play of the light? The child couldn't help but stare in an attempt to untangle imagination from reality.
