Okay that is enough reserving for now. Obviously I will make the posts relevant and prettier later.
Just kind of wanted this as a place to discuss our plans for meeting up, both at our houses and our future trip to Wizarding World in Florida. Figured if I didn't make a discussion we would never figure anything out. x3
I was looking up maps and plane tickets, just as a loose reference. Driving really does seem like it would be retarded for me. Google Maps says it would take over 24 hours driving to get to you guys in Kansas. So I think it would really have to be plane tickets.
So I was looking at those. Plane tickets are less expensive if you choose departure/arrival dates that are in the middle of the week (not weekends) so I just chose some random weekday in August to a date two week later. For one person it is close to $500 for a 1-stop flight, roundtrip. Strangely there didnt seem to be any straight through flights, but I will investigate that more later. Either way that would be $1,000 for me and Austin to go. Which is pretty expensive...
More on Austin; he really seems like he doesn't want to go. And i know he would be pretty awkward/bored for the most part. But I don't want to go alone? I would be afraid to go alone, is what it really is.
Okay so in short... obviously I really want to go see and be with you guys. But I think it would be better/easier for me if we met at Wizarding World in Florida first. That way Austin would want to go, would get to meet you and see how we really are good friends and all, and then I would be able to go myself to go see you after that kind of thing.
Just... that's my input so far... halp.

I would like to do wizarding world too but alternatively if it cant be managed for a bit i would probably just go to.kansas myself, since its like $250 for me. Or my cousin even mentioned something about dropping me off before.they went to arkansas to see his parents. Yeah. :3
I really wanna go this summer bit it was already in my thoughts that you wouldnt be able to go.
I know it wouldnt be he same with three of us but... yeah.
I would.feel.better meeting Austin at hp world too, because there is awkwardness in that. I have.never even talked to him.
Nervousness.

Look up flying into Kansas City instead of Wichita. It's asscheeks cheaper than Wichita.
Unless I win the lottery, there is no way in hell I'm getting to Florida, and realistically, neither of you could either. Maybe you, Lor, cos you live with parents and don't have as many expenses of your own, but even then it's hard to save, y'know?
I'll break it down.
Tickets, round trip, going into Florida. $300 to $400 each. More if we go during tourist season - basically any time during Spring, Summer, or Fall.
Then hotel, a minimum of $60-$80 a night (unless we stay a town or two over and even then I don't think you'll get it cheaper), and no we couldn't share a single room because at most it would have two queen beds and five of us can't fit, not to mention awkwardness, and usually hotels will impose a limit of people per room or incur fees. We could try sleeping on the floor but s**t, walking around that hot park all day, you're gonna want a bed.
A rented car, which requires a credit check in most cases, and that's like $90-$120 a day anywhere NEAR Orlando. Oh, their website will boast all these deals, but when you walk in they'll bring up all this season fee bullshit and travelers preference fees, blah blah blah, sign here, pay this or GTFO.
Food. Cheaper to grocery shop and keep it at the hotel, but trying to bring a sack lunch to the theme park would not work; so that means $15-20 lunches each day (park food is expensive.) Water is something you need at least twice an hour while AT the park, and that's $2 a bottle. Not something you can bring either because it'd just heat up in a backpack. So $40ish on food each day at the park alone, plus breakfast and dinner at hotel. But after a long day at the park you are not going to so much as want to put PB&J on some bread, so it'd probably be pizza ordering. Park fees, $180 each for a 7-day park visit. Or $113 a day for single day visits. Each.
There are a lot of things I am needing this year, including a new vehicle because the Saturn is going out. I make like 10k a year and I'd need like $2,500 minimum for Kat and I. That's a fourth of what I make in a whole year. Kat's getting a job but I'm not holding my breath, because life never works out like it should, and I bet once we get into a good place financially the car will die or our hot water tank will explode. Maaaaaybe next year around tax time (maybe more than maybe; seems plausible to me at the moment, anyhow), but this year, I can safely say there is no goddamn way.
Could I travel somewhere else? Sure. But vacationing to a theme park is a shiiiiiitload more expensive. ******** we blew like $600 going for a few hours with my little brother.
And no offense to you guys, but if I gather money to go elsewhere, I'd rather go to Connecticut to get married to Kat than go to Florida.
Furthermore, nervousness at meeting us won't dissipate just because it's a neutral location. If you're scared of us or of how we may get along or how things will go, etc, it's just a temporary comfort to assume if we met up elsewhere those things wouldn't be an issue.
It's awkward, meeting an online friend.

I'm not scared of you guys. n_n I've just never traveled alone or anything like that. Austin is scared FOR me, not like... I mean, I am pretty certain we would get along great. I'm not afraid I would get there and it would just be awkwardfest the whole time or you guys would be mean or anything like that lol. Just the traveling alone part. Austin and my parents don't like that idea. Obviously they don't get how I can be such good friends with people online and all.
And I definitely understand that Florida would be more expensive too. I was just saying... that if I wanted Austin to come that would be a way to get him to... man, I don't know. gonk Either way on that me and Austin won't have enough til AT LEAST next year to go to Florida. The idea seemed more rational when I first posted it.
*giant sigh* I guess what I am really saying is I'm not going to get to see you guys this year, expense wise, unless I can convince my parents and Austin that I can go alone. And get up the courage myself to not be freaked out to go alone. I can definitely afford the $500 for a plane ticket.
Like I just need to say ******** it to everyone and go. I dunno...
WHY YOU SO FAR.

Yup so I basically decided today I am going to go up there and visit you guys by myself, no matter what. I was thinking about it a lot at work and all and just... yeah. I really want to see and be with you guys. I don't need silly Austin to come with me, especially if he doesn't want to and would be awkward for everyone.
Now we just got to start figured out a date and such.
And you guys would obviously be able to pick me up from the airport ******** WANT THIS.

God I am planning packing, haha. Maybe we will figure it out better once it gets a bit closer and I can compare ticket prices and s**t. Gunna look up the Kansas City thing like Naz said. EDIT: Lol it is like 200$ cheaper, the hell XD

Oh good Lord, don't even consider a cab from Kansas City, man. We'd just pick you up. A cab is $2 a mile, times almost 200 miles. It's only a 4 hour drive though because it's all highway. We'll probably rent a car to do it, it's usually $40-$90 plus 25 cents a mile, and that'd be strain put on their car and not ours lol. PLUS AIR CONDITIONING AND CD PLAYERRR.
Yeah, Wichita is considered the air capital of the world, but our rates are outrageous and our aircraft manufacturing companies are all spluttering with layoffs. Like Detroit and its cars, only planes, lulz. KC airport is bigger and you're probably more likely to find some straight-through trips instead of ones with stops.
If you're gonna do a plane, definitely buy a month or two early. Waaaay cheaper that way.
I WOULD NOT FIND AUSTIN AWKWARD. WE WOULD JUST SIT HIM WITH THE DOG AN THE X-BOX LULZ.
I have been price-shopping for a bunkbed. I have always wanted one; sturdy metal, though - as a kid we had a wood one, and it almost killed me, lol, collapsing cos Mom was stacking boxes on the top while cleaning and I was laying on the bottom reading. She almost broke both of her arms shooting forward to catch the frame so it didn't crack my head.
I'd feel more comfortable having more beds in the house anyway, since with Mom moving out we'll be left with only one but three bedrooms. It's kind of creepy o__o
Like we said, y'all are welcome to live here, so length of time here doesn't matter lol XD After a week and a half I'd need to go back to work, but that wouldn't restrict you being here.
And, seriously, if something were to ever happen... I can put off bills and s**t for a week or two to buy an emergency ticket, if either of you ever needed to get away and stay someplace safe and loving. n__n But you'd have to do my dishes and/or laundry.
