Aphrodite had no qualms about breaking into people’s houses or prancing around their backyards. As long as she didn’t get caught or they didn’t call the police, it was all fine! Hence why she was casually peeking over a fence to look into Paige Eistel’s backyard. She had been spying on the girl for the past couple days, silently observing the brunette as she happily gardened away. Not that Aphrodite particularly enjoyed watching the girl work, because she didn’t. It was boring.
Just that the girl had been giving Aphrodite odd vibes and now she knew why. Hmmm. Idly, she spotted a burrowing chompah hidden behind bushes and the woman grinned. Perfect timing, you little monster.
“Nice little garden you’ve got here,” she called out as her head bobbed up and down, her face disappearing and reappearing behind the fence.

It was just another day. Dirt caked her hands and smudged her face. Her knees where dirtied with the soil she knelt down in. "Oh, the carrots are looking nice." She praised herself for her hard work. "Maybe a nice stew for dinner." She pulled at the stems, adding a couple to her basket. Fresh fruits and vegetables were the best, but it did require a lot of labor for her to maintain.
Paige wiped the sweat from her brow, adding to the grime on her face. She noticed a girl peeking over the fence in short jumps, complimenting her garden. "Well thanks." She smiled standing up and placing her basket on a nearby table. "I try my best to keep it up.” It wasn’t often that she would get a compliment.

“That’s good,” Aphrodite chirped back, eyes curiously following the fluff that drowsily buried itself in some bushes. She softly hummed to herself, silently concocting a successful plan to awakening this girl. “Girl, I think you’ve got some vermit back there,” she called out, half-nodding her head to the bush. It wasn’t a lie, at least.
If Paige decided to amble over to where Aphrodite had motioned to, she would have noticed a rather odd ball of fur huddled under the foliage. Although it was comfortably sleeping under the shade, the rustling leaves would wake it from its slumber and the chompah would curiously look up at the brunette.

She turned her head to the disturbance. "Really?!" Paige rushed over, hoping that the wind had blown and made the bush rustle in a strange way. Such was not the case here. There was the occasional gofer here and there, but as she walked over slowly, the pink fur confused her. Was it a dog? A cat? Maybe a fluffy bunny that had gotten loose in the neighborhood. But still, it looked.... Odd.
"Now, I don't need you ruining these plants." She squatted down do get a better look at the creature, easily crunching the leaves beneath her feet. "Now shoo you... Bunny?" It had to be a dyed rabbit of some sort. She hesitantly reached out to move the ball of fur from her garden.

Aphrodite knowingly smiled. “Really,” she affirmed, bemusedly grinning as she watched the brunette scuttle over to the bush and the small chompah. The blond woman unceremoniously climbed over the fence, clawing at the wood as she hoisted herself over the tall planks. She fell on her butt with a soft thud. Pouting she hobbled to her feet while rubbing her sore bottom. Someone remind her to never hop a fence again.
Looking rather miffed at her clumsy fall, she turned to look at Paige, crouched in the bushes as she investigated the odd creature. Aphrodite cracked a smile. “For your information, it’s not a bunny. It’s called a chompah,” she informed, waltzing over.
At first the chompah curiously stared back at the foreign human with its wide, drowsy eyes. The ball of fur yawned and rolled away from the girl’s hand, looking far too lethargic to do anything else.

There was a thud in the background as the woman climbed over the fence. Paige paid no mind, trying to coax the creature from its resting place in the bushes. Would it eat her plants? She shuddered at the thought. The fuzzy pink think rolled from her hand slowly, causing Paige to draw back and watch it.
Paige tensed as the woman grew closer, prying her eyes from the furry creature. "You know what it is?" She questioned the woman as she entered her space. "Is it yours?" This lady gave Paige a strange vibe. Not every day do you have a stranger barging in on you with a so-called "chompah."

“Yes, I know what it is. No, it’s not mine. I’d never want to have that annoying pest as a pet,” Aphrodite answered with a childish pout. After sauntering over she casually leaned over Paige’s shoulder, warily eyeing the fluffy creature.
Lying on its side, the chompah continued sleepily rolling away from Paige. It opened its broad jaw to release a lazy yawn. Aphrodite stared at the chompah. The awakening wouldn’t get anywhere like this. Impatiently sighing, she walked over and punted the thing a couple yards away. It screeched, fluffing itself until the fur stretched out far beyond what it normally did.
“Oops. My bad.” Aphrodite laughed, attempting to seem guilty when she clearly wasn’t.

"Why would you do something like that!" Even though Paige didn't care too much for this creature that invaded her garden, she still didn't see why this strange woman had to punt it from where it was sleeping. If anything it would have been easier to catch it while it was laying there and resting. Now it looked threatening and menacing.
And on top of that it was screeching! She winced, covering her ears. "Now you've done it!" She walked over to the thing, trying to get it to calm down, holding out a shaking hand. "Now just be quiet you, Chompah. The mean lady won't hurt you." Her hands tingled slightly, with the rush of adrenalin mixed with fear she felt as she slowly approached in screechy creature.

The sun overhead beat down with the heat of the day, making the moisture sliding down the leaves of the trees and plants sparkle with light, the smell of the fresh vegetables and newly turned earth created an easy atmosphere, but certainly, today, there was something else lingering in the air in the little garden outside Paige's house. A tingle that made it's way down Paige's spine, the warning of something peculiar about to occur.
Aphrodite shook her head at Paige's. Well, she had hoped the chompah would have a little more energy, but getting it angry was the easiest way to ensure the results she wanted.
"The creature is not something you can just shoo out of the garden, besides I'm not sure it's here for the plants....I wouldn't do that..." She advised as Paige approached the pink creature, but it was too late. The chompah snarled. It's oversized teeth gnashed out, attempting to bit Paige's hand. But a moment later it landed on thin air, Aphrodite snatching Paige's fingers back at the last second. A faint glow flowed from her palm, spreading up her spine.
it's wailing ceased and the chompah's fur rippled as though it spasmed, Aphrodite moved back, slowly.
"Oh, as I thought. It's ripe and about to burst. You don't want to touch it."

This thing was fierce! Paige's eyes were wide and she was clearly a little shaken up. "Thank you... I guess you were right." She tried to calm herself before she noticed a glow from the woman's palm. What had she gotten herself into now?
The chompah seemed to protest at this light, it looked as if it were convulsing. Oh no... Oh no no no.... Was this lady a witch? A crazy witch? What was going on. "Ok, I-I won't touch it..." She looked at her savior a bit more warily now. "But what do I do to get rid of it?"

Aphrodite grinned a little, showing just the wrong side of enthusiasm to make the girl feel at ease. She stood back, her light pink fabrics fluttering in the breeze. The glow faded quickly enough but the blond woman looked away, toward the skyline for a moment, her lips moving almost silently. "I might be the villain of this story." A look of profound sadness crossed her face for a moment, some ancient anguish, there one moment and gone the next.
The chompah began to grow in size, from the small rabbit-fluff that it had been to a doberman, and it kept growing, its fur rippling, growling and snarling as though the act was somewhat painful. Snarflegrunt
Aphrodite took another step back, her whimsical features turning a little coy. She pulled something from her back and tossed it at Paige. "Think quick! Here's how you stop it."
Aphrodite did not elaborate, afterall, where was the fun in that?

“What are you talking about?” This woman looked as if she were sad for a moment. But a moment only. Paige starred in horror at this monstrosity. Was this the last thing she was going to see before she died? Was this thing going to eat her as this maniac watched with a smirk on her face? This was all her doing... Probably. The little bunny sized chompa morphed into a a larger version of itself. Was it that witch's power that did it?
She turned to the woman who finally offered her the answer, well, somewhat of an answer. Before the young girl knew what was going on, the possible witch threw her an item. She reached out to catch the precious item that would be the answer to her troubles. Was it an antidote for the beast? Something to make it flee? Paige fell to the ground in an effort to catch it, barely grasping it in her hand. She stared at it, it seemed somehow special... But what was she supposed to do with it? “What the heck is this for!?” She was angry, scared, and confused. This witch wasn't helping the situation at all.

Aphrodite grinned and pointed at the Chompah. "It's a necklace, better put it on before it's too late."
Of course, too late clearly indicated that there would be an angry, snarling ball of teeth and fluff attacking them and that the necklace would obviously help in this problematic situation.

It took Paige several seconds to comprehend what that mad woman wanted her to do. So.... This necklace was supposed to help her? How so? It was pretty, and glinted in the light, but.... This lady sure was the odd one, but she had to act fast. Her heart was racing and her mind was filled with a jumble of things. It took her a few tries to get the necklace on. The clasp took her a few times to fasten as she stared down the Chompah.
"Ok, ok, ok." She said, her hands shaking on the fragile necklace. "How is this supposed to help me with...." She gestured to the angry ball of fluff. "That?" Any explanation would probably be ridiculous from this woman, but what else was she to do?
