Raikinti lifted his head from grazing, short tail flicking from side to side as he chewed contemplatively. This new land truly was not so bad, he decided. A little more lush than his homeland, but that just meant it was easier to find food. Not that he really had to worry about that, since Delrialto had already invited him to join the odd little herd that had formed around a Medicine Woman who lived outside the village. The herd was dominated by Delrialto's family and another family that had been allied with them for a long time. Winds and grounds existed in both families, sharing space with another ground family and a unicorn. He fit in well enough with the somewhat rag-tag group, it was nice to be surrounded by an actual family. They didn't judge him or even dig too deeply into his past, something that was still raw and painful to his senses. Whether they knew that or not, or simply respected his reservations about speaking of such things, they didn't press him. Delrialto's sire and grandsire had even taken to treating him like one of the family, as had the other family that acted more like they were an extension of the Silver Stallion's kin than a separate family unit. Snorting, the striped stallion drifted into the clearing he'd been eyeing as he grazed in the shade of the forest. There was a pleasant collection of flowers he was rather inclined to browse, and he'd seen no sign of danger. "I think... That life will be better in this place." He murmured to himself with a faint smile. "At least, I sincerely hope so."

A dappled mare by the name of Rhea was resting her melodramatic emotions as she laid in the middle of a large grassy clearing. A place where she could hide in the tall grass yet still feel like she was the most beautiful thing in the area. Her tears tumbled down her cheeks quickly as she sobbed in her meek, feminine fashion, trying her very best to keep them quite. Why was she crying, you ask? Well, it was only memories that bothered her. You see, she used to live quite a dazzling life. A wonderful father who raised her on his own. Gave her everything she ever wanted and complimented her daily. She was treated like a princess and thought she practically was one. However, all that quickly ended when her father passed away in a tragic accident. The transition from being loved so dearly she could get anything, and then being alone was a difficult thing to do, however, Rhea was doing it. The first year was unbearable, but three years had passed since then and she rarely ever cries over the matter anymore. Maybe once every few months. She laid in the grassy field, hiccuping and trying to will her tears to stop, but out of nowhere it seemed a noise caused her ears to flick and focus. She tilted her head back up and glanced around from the ground, trying to peek over the tall grass to see who was coming. When her eyes landed upon a stallion she quickly ducted her head back down and attempted to shake the tears out of her eyes. Never would she allow anybody to see her hurting. It was shameful, and she always looked to impress. Perhaps he had heard her crying though?

Raikinti continued to move into the clearing, keeping his strides slow as his ears flicked about and he listened. He could hear someone, though he wasn't sure if they were in the clearing or the woods beyond. It sounded like whoever it was had been crying, or perhaps they still were? "Hello?" He offered in a gentle tone. In spite of a rough life and poor examples within his own family, Raikinti had grown up a gentleman. This was due -mostly- to the fact that his best friend and that family had 'adopted' him when he'd had a chance to visit with them. The patriarch of the clan here was from far across the sea, a place where he'd spoken of great structures like 'palaces' where he danced for the delight of very important humans. His eloquent nature and skills had passed to his son and grandson, and eventually great-grandson as well as his best friend Raikinti himself. Though a gentleman would never allow a lady to remain in distress if he could help it, he certainly wouldn't say something about her distress either, unless there was no way around it. That meant "is someone crying over there?" was out of the question. "Umm.. I'm new to the land and just wandering, is.. Is there anyone there? Preferably not a Skinwalker or Kalona waiting to eat me? That really wouldn't make my day."

From the sight of him he appeared to be relatively normal, and nothing that particularly tickled her fancy, yet his words mildly amused her. She sniffled softly once more before rubbing her eyes against her fore limbs before hoisting herself up from the comfortable laying position she had previous been in on the floor. She rose above the tall grass for it wasn't that tall to even begin with. "I am here..." she stated with a firm voice, showing that she was not afraid however, it gave a slight crack at the end. A result of her crying moments before, but she was quick to clear her throat to rid herself of the problem.
The female kept her distance but took this moment to properly examine him. He didn't seem very worthy of her time, but perhaps his intelligence would lend her some comforting humor. "You're new to these lands?" she spoke in a luring voice. Once she often used to seduce stallions. "Where have you come from?" She took a few steps closer, to show her interest, even if there wasn't much there for him. Her tail flickered behind her, venting out her pent up anxiety from almost being caught crying. She thought for sure he hadn't heard her sobbing for the stallion hadn't brought it up yet. Thank goodness.

Raikinti had never been particular confident in himself, with no real reason to, considering his herd. This led to him being slightly reckless when wandering -because he was almost always alone- and occasionally tripping over himself when he was with company. To be in a new land was exhilarating and mildly terrifying, but in a way that put him in high spirits and made him drift closer to whoever was still hidden in the field. Maybe he could brighten someone's day? The mare suddenly sat up, his ears pitching forward and eyes widening faintly in surprise. Well, she sounded alright now. "Oh, I see..." He murmured with a faint smile and a flick of his short tail. "Me?" He chuckled. "I've traveled quite a ways, really. From a far away plane where the deer are much smaller with twisting antlers, and where the great cats prowl at sundown but sleep much of the day... There are seas and seas of grass, and the sun is golden and low to the sand, painting it in likeness." He shivered slightly, tail flicking again. "And the forests are dark and close, but offer coolness and shade from the hot air and burning sun. It's beautiful like this place, but a different kind of beauty." He glanced around. "With all I am seeing here, I have not yet found the heart to miss it." Raikinti bowed his head, huffing softly at himself. "Forgive me, Lovely Lady. My name is Raikinti, and it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance."

The golden haired Alicorn gave him a skeptical look indeed. A place where deer are larger and cats prowl? An open plan where the heat is unbearable and the forest is compact? This place didn't sound all to pleasurable but the way Raikinti spoke about it brought new appeal. Perhaps, it was just prettier in person that coming out of the mouth of some strangers she had just met, but she doubted it. "Oh, I see," the mare simply spoke and gave a bow of her head in understanding.
Strange how he didn't miss his homelands. Even Rhea missed where she had grown up, though it was much like this place. She never could find her way home though. At least, not without daddy's help. She brushed away the thought with haste, not wanting tears to sting her eyes anymore. Especially not with this stallion here in front of her to watch her crumble into herself. When he introduced himself in such a gentleman like way she quirked her eyebrow, giving a slightly amused giggle. She wanted to comment something along the lines of 'Likewise' but knew it would put the stallion off. "Raikinti, such a.... interesting name you have. You may keep calling me Lovely Lady, but my name is Rhea," she smiled at him with a flicker of amusement in her bright green orbs.
The fair mare began to circle Rai as if sizing up her prey, though she managed to keep a playful smile on her lips at all times. "So Raikinti, tell me... how did you come to this place? Are you making friends quickly?" She flicked her tail out, letting it stroke his cheek for a moment before continuing her stroll around him before coming to a stop in front of the stallion, head slightly lowered but eyes looking up at him with the must interested of glints in her eyes. Oh, how she loved to play with men. Their reactions fueled her fire.

Raikinti smiled at her soft acceptance of his home, his description and the harshly savage beauty that still was appealing to him... He suppose maybe it was true that he missed it, in a way. Missed the creatures he recognized and knew how to act around, missed the certainty of it. But that was also what made this place so appealing, because it was somewhat unexpected and different and he didn't know... It was full of possibilities, this not-knowing. And that made him miss home not at all, because there was very little opportunity in his father's shadow. Her giggle gave him hope that maybe he would end the day with a pleasant conversation, if not a new friend. "My mother named me, she had an interesting way about her, on the contrary my father is terribly dull... And rigid." He huffed, flicking his tail to banish the memory of his sire. They'd never gotten along, that much was true. Would probably always be true. "I thank you for your permission, Lovely Lady." He teased gently, bowing his head. "But it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Rhea." He blinked as she moved to circle him, craning his head to keep one emerald eye fixed on her, though remaining still to prove he posed no threat to her. He blinked at the flirtatious mood that overtook her, and gave her a charming smile. "Yes Rhea, Lady Fair?" He murmured. "Ah, my story? Well, once upon a time I had a happy enough childhood, my mother was doting and very dear to me... And I had a little sister of whom I was very fond. But my sire wished me to be who I was not, and he and I frequently fought over the differences. So eventually it got to be too much, and he drove me away from the herd, and I took the next step and left my homeland gladly. I've a friend here that I met through fluke, long ago, and then came to find him when it seemed the time was right." He paused with a sigh, sliding through the memories, and then shook it off. "So to this land I came, and we've gotten into trouble here and there, just like old times. I have made a few new friends, and luckily as of yet no new enemies, so it is going well." He chuckled, mockingly snapping at her tail. "Careful with that, Lovely Lady."
