He'd left his old herd and traveled away to find a new start, some place that he could be himself and not what others thought he should be. These new lands seemed to be promising in the least. They certainly where peaceful looking. His mane flopped hap haphazardly about, forelock in his eyes as it usually was. His head bobbed around as he walked causing a flashing glimpse of his green eyes here and there.
She was walking along the edge of her herd lands, checking up on things and making sure there hadn't been any skin walker tracks as of late. There's been talk of attacks on other herd in the past and with her children, she just didn't want to risk it. She stopped only when she saw a bulky figure in the distance. Her first thought was if she should greet this stranger or not. Mother hood had certainly left her more cautious than she had been previously. This herd was her family, even if the other members weren't related to her or her children. Finally she made up her mind. "Hello? Can I help you?" Her voice was calm and sweet, friendly.
Hearing the voice, he turned his head and nodded a greeting, goofy smile painted on his face. "Why hello, I hope I'm not intruding on anything..." His voice was deep, thick as though fur was given sound and warmth with his voice. Still he looked out from under his forelock at her.
She shook her head some. This stallion at least didn't seem like anything to be worried about but looks could be deceiving. "No, not at all. I was just making my rounds is all..." She eyed him cautiously as she spoke.
"Rounds? You guarding something?" He was curious. A mare making rounds did this mean she was apart of a herd? He was starting to become a bit leary now as he stood there. Was he possibly standing on the lands of some one who would possibly see him as an unwanted guest?
"Yes, I happen to be the herd leader of the Primrose and hope herd..." She could see the change in his body language and she couldn't help but to giggle. "Don't worry, We're a peaceful herd. We prefer to accept others how they are rather than to try and pick out what we think should be ideal." She smiled wide.
"Accept others as they are?" This sounded promising indeed. A herd who wouldn't judge him no matter what? Sure he wasn't some random creeper seeking to pray on others but this just had to be too good to be true.
She nodded. "Yep, we don't see the point in labeling others with stereotypes and My views are just to look past all that to the inner beings." She still hadn't lost her view on things and this was one of those things she hadn't lots her view on. More cautious, yes. But, she still hadn't lost her thoughts on others around them. She still felt that good was in everything you just needed to be willing to search for that good.
"That... sounds.. really nice... It sounds like a Place I've been looking for really.." He actually gave a sheepish look. He figured this was one of those ask to become a member herds and not one of those open ones where just anyone could ask to join. "I'm sorry I didn't mean to sound presumptuous."
She shook her head smiling. "Not at all you're welcome so long as you don't break the herd's rules.. Each and everyone's welcome to their own views so long as no major arguments break out over them..." She offered another smile. "I'm Shoshana by the way."
"I see, thank you so very much.. I'd like to join if it's alright.." He nodded his head like a bow. "I'm Shilo, It's a pleasure to meet you Shoshana." She offered another smile.
"Consider yourself on probationary trial then, Shilo." If things work out and you're comfortable to say and no one in the herd objects to your being here then you may stay and be known as a full member of the herd." She nodded and motioned him to follow her. "Come, I'll introduce you to who ever may be currently available to welcome you." She turned and past into the brush, nodding for him to follow her.
Follow he did, he didn't need another invitation to follow her as long as the welcome was warm and the eyes weren't ever judging him.
