I got a few neat tools for Christmas. I got a tie-rod pickle fork, a ball joint pickle fork, and a brake piston compressor. Not only that, but through kijiji.ca, I've got a line on a set of four jack stands for 20 bucks. I've also been looking up videos on youtube for repairing stuff like radiators, ball joints, tie rod ends, brake pads, brake rotors, and that kind of stuff. A lot of the stuff I'm learning about via youtube is stuff that kept my 1995 Mercury Sable from being road worthy any longer. But I still have old Bessy and now I have the tools and an idea of how to do the work. If it were any other car, I'd probably have junked it by now, but I really miss driving that car a lot. I'm really excited for spring time now =D

I replaced the radiator today with one from a 1993 Ford Taurus. It was a bit of a trick cause the fan assembly mounts and upper radiator mounts were changed for the 1994 model year...stupid Ford...but I got something rigged up and now my Sable has a radiator that only has about 40,000 kilometers on it =D

Just thought I'd mention that Bessy lives again as of 25 November 2011 =D
I've put about 3,000 kilometers on her since getting her back on the road. As far as the final cost of repairs for the mighty Mercury...lets just say it was expensive but I've got most of a new car underneath me now xD
