"Lin?"
"Yes?"
"I'm tired."
Sigh. The two wyverns flew in a tight formation, wing to wing, perfectly matching each other's speed. The left wyvern was small, even by his specie's standards, with a pelt that looked like the nighttime sky. His larger companion to his right was a cloudy grey, with distinctive yellow markings along her back. They both sharply contrasted the blue sky above, with its soft, cottony clouds. It was a good day for foraging! They had already made several trips back to their cavern with everything ranging from cabbages to radishes and even a bean!
Needless to say, the two's wings were just about ready to fall off by this point, yet still Lin pushed onward. Celest wasn't nearly so zealous - "We have enough food to last the flight for a week!" He'd whined, but in the end he followed his flightmate back out into the Sparse Grasslands, his fear of being alone overwhelming him. Had Lin been of a more fierce disposition, she would've hightailed it and left the lagging male behind to fend for himself in the wild (or, more likely, fly home and whine to her about it later), but luckily she was a kind soul.
When Celest didn't receive a reply, he went back to scanning the ground below him. There was grass everywhere! Still, the two watched as they flew along, occasionally rolling over to check their backs for predators.
