Temperance was ready to head out on his journey across the plains. Even though the teepee lay on the edge of the forest he still felt safe and warm near the trees. The days were getting shorter, and colder, he knew that he had to head to the village for supplies that would last through the next months. He could survive on his own, but the herd was forming, and he was unsure with so few of them that they would be able to find enough food when the forest would start to freeze. The winter was his favorite time. It was only once a year that he would travel to the village, listen to the stories, and meet others. He lifted his head and took in a soothing breath, lifted up onto his back legs and let out a good bye neigh. Then he galloped off across the plain. Excited for what he would encounter on his travels.

Easy access color code: Bored and freezing, Ell sighed and watched her now visible breath float through the air. Slightly amused at the sight she huffed out a couple more breaths, then decided it was time to find someone to bother or some such thing... she didn't like to be alone. With a labored groan she hauled herself up off the ground and shook herself out. "Man! It's freezing" she blurbed out to herself. And with that she began to trot off, wondering to herself if anything interesting might actually happen for once. As she trotted on, plodding through the snow, a small smile grew on her face as she thought about smushing the little snowflakes beneath her hooves.

Temperance galloped faster he loved watching the snow fly up off the ground...there wasn't much only a light dusting...but anything right now was good enough for him. The plains ahead all seemed a dark grey and white color. Although the sun was shining and the sky was blue the scenery was very muted. In the distance he thought he saw some color. It might have been his imagination or the adrenaline was kicking in from his galloping. Either way he choose that as his target and speed up faster.

"Curse this cold weather.... the only thing it's good for is white-washing peskies." Ell complained after deciding that crushing the poor, helpless snowflakes wasn't a good enough reason to enjoy the small bit of snow that was on the ground. She was too distracted by wallowing in her thoughts to notice anything going on around her... or coming towards her from a distance. Right now, as far as she was concerned, she believed her day was going to be a total loss any just honestly could not think of a thing to do or anyone she actually wanted to attempt to be social with.

As Temperance got closer to his target he realized in fact that there was color on the horizon. Red, yellow, blue, and orange reflected in his eyes. What was that? He wondered. It seemed to stand out on it's own...or it was something white? White with colors...another Soquili perhaps? How interesting! It wasn't a Ceryeni...he didn't see any antlers. He slowed down his to a trot in order not to startle it. "Hello out there!" he called out.

Off in her own little world, Ell just barely heard a noise. Her head jerked up as she heard what she thought was a voice... but that couldn't be because nobody was around today that she knew of. Her ears flickered and swiveled back and forth as they tried to find the direction the supposed voice was coming from, finally pinning back against her head as she felt like someone was not too far off behind her. She whipped her head around to glance back to see a stallion coming towards her. She honestly hadn't a clue how to react because she was just plain surprised, so she just stood there, staring at him

Temperance smiled as he got closer. He could see that the other had not turned to run away but was in fact standing there watching him approach. He slowed and stopped in front of her. Bowing his head slightly he said "Hello there colorful maiden, how do you do on this lovely winter day?" He wondered what she was doing out here all by herself.

Ell quirked a brow at his mannerisms for they were quite different from what she was use to. She was use to the obnoxiousness of her brothers and such, and what this male was doing and how he was speaking.. well it was just weird. With a funny look on her face she replied "Ummmm... I'm good?" not even thinking to ask how he was doing as well. She tilted her head to the side, tail squishing as she looked him over, trying to see if she couldn't figure something out from just looking at him.. or so it would seem.

Temperance smiled at her, she was so colorful he enjoyed how the light fell on the many colors. "If I can ask where are you headed to? I'm on my way to the human village to pick up some supplies for the winter; I better get on soon but if you're headed in the same direction we could travel together for a while if you like." He smiled and watched the light hit her hair and the rainbow of colors fall on the white snow on the ground.

Ell listened to the male, her nose twitching slightly as he spoke. She was feeling pretty happy to have someone admiring her, though at the same time it kind of gave her the creeps because she was just not used to how this male was acting. "Ummm... I'm actually not really going anywhere in particular... sooooooooooo... For the sake of having something to do I guess I could tag along if you want." Her nose twitched again as she watched him, semi-wearily, but still.. once again, thrilled to have an admirer for she thrived on being admired.

Temperance's smile widened it would be nice to have a companion on these cold days. His optimism he could tell was making her twitch. He always got a similiar response to those who didn't know him. Always happy, content, and fascinated by anything he encountered. "Wonderful, it will be nice to have the companionship. Have you been to the village before?" You'll have to forgive me if I made you feel uncomfortable. Most of my herd does not posses the same colors you hold, and rainbows are such fascinating things, I am suprised to see such colors! Let's head off then, this way." He circled around her and began a trot. Hopefully, she was fast he had to get there before the next storm.

"Eh... It's cool." She bobbed her head up and down a couple times. "I'm just not used to guys being... like you." Ell whinnied out a laugh then stretched out neck out and turned her head up, obviously trying her best to show herself off. "I do look pretty great don't I? Quite different n stuff." Ell swished her tail side to side, hooves prancing in the snow anxiously now... or was it more excitedly? Either way she was ready to go. "Well since I don't know where the hell we're going so you gotta lead the way." Grinning, she bobbed her head again, her mane falling in her face. Taking a moment she blew it up and out of her eyes before looking at him and waiting for him to start off.

Temperance nodded see the stream far off on the horizon line? That's where we're headed first, and good thing too because it is far off and we'll be thirsty by the time we get there. Ready for a run? He smiled and took off toward the horizon.

Ell followed his glance towards the stream. "Oh man.. you're making me run all the way over there?" she whined a bit, but it was more playful than anything... for the moment anyways. As he took off, her hooves pranced again then she ran off after him, catching up easily and all grins. "I bet I can beat you there!" she teased before lowering her head and powered off, trying to race ahead of the stallion and trying to beat him to their goal, not really thinking about anything else. She was used to competition with her brothers so that's exactly what was on her mind.

Temperance loved races and he was glad that she could keep pace with him! He was pretty fast and had great endurance. "Alright lets race!" He took off faster his hooves barely hitting the ground...his horns did cause a little air drag though so he lowered his head a little bit to fight off any currents. They were bound to make the stream quicker at this pace!
