Gates, they presented an easy way into Crystal, however the problem with gates is getting the papers to get in, the notification to the student. A bit of waiting and finally a pain free entry into Crystal grounds. However it had a problem, notification, it's not much a surprise when the person knows your coming right?
So it was plan B, a tree, a wall, and a chance of being tossed out before he even had a chance to visit another old friend. So with a determind glare at a frozen tree Sorrin started to climb. Gloved fingers clawing at the bark to get a hold as he squirmed his way up. Foot by foot, each inch gained adding mroe of a grin to his face. Serenade could always use some cheering up and Sorrin was sure surprising her would obviously be the best way to cheer her up!
When he finally reached the top of the tree he took a look over the snow white grounds picking out the building Serenade dormed in. How long had it been since he first met Serenade? He was pretty sure it was because Castor was visiting someone on the grounds of Crystal a year or so ago. He had tagged along and found Serenade moaping about. He couldn't even remember what she was upset about, He had bought her ice cream that day. It became a small habit to randomly drop in and treat her out, sometimes sending her a letter or an email just to see how she was. They didn't hang out all the time but once in a while they found the time to meet.
the old memories brought a smile to his face, sadly ice cream was out of the question today, too cold, too much snow. Still, he was here and he would continue a long lost tradition while he was gone for that year. Marching through the snow he finally stood below that window a snowball rolling in his hand. A few dull thumps would sound on Serenades window, one snow ball even managed to stick.
"Seeereeenaaaaaaade~ guess who's baaaaaaack~!"

As much as Serenade liked winter, sometimes it was nice to simply stay indoors. To curl up in her bed, warm and comfortable as she read a book, a cup of cocoa placed on her side-table. She flipped through Twilight, which she only decided to read out of curiosity after Coralie had introduced her to it. As Coralie had said, it was pretty perplexing, and Serenade didn't understand Bella at all. Nor the vampires; she had always the impression that they died in the sunlight, right?
Whilst puzzling over the book she was trying to understand so she could explain to Coralie, Serenade heard thump after thump on her window. It was probably best to put the book down and rest her brain, she figured, and did just that, marching over to wipe the frost of her window so she could peer through.
"...Sorrin?" She managed after the surprise hit her, eyes wide in shock and struggled to lift up the window. "What are you doing here?"

Bouncing up and down in the snow the blond haired boy waved both his arms happily at the sight of Serenade peeking out her window. "Yeah it's me who did you expect the Easter Bunny?" Still hopping just a bit he looked around making sure the academy police, or even the Destiny City Police weren't wandering the grounds. "I came to say hi! I wanted it to be a surprise so I had to climb the wall to get in. You know how hard it is to surprise someone when they have you fill out all those formal sheets and they call you down; 'Serenade, please report to the front gate to pick up Sorrin Giovani blah blah blah." Making another glance around and hopping no other girls decided to start peeking out their windows and call security he glanced back up pouting for only a moment at Serenade. "Gona let me in the front door or should I start climbing a tree it's freezing out here!" Even with his brief complaints of the cold it didn't seem to mean much as the smile slipped back onto his face

Serenade gave the boy below her window a wry smile. "Sorrin, Easter is hardly anytime soon." She would have went on about how Christmas had just ended and thus Easter would not approach so soon; the candycanes would not be traded for chocolate eggs in shops right now. Plus, it could have very well been other people she knew, like Elzo or even Bo... boys seemed to like coming via this route. It was indeed easier for girls to be admitted into Crystal. Eve had no problem waltzing in and out when she wanted to, being an alumni of the institution. Crystal security was very much a bother sometimes; a bother she knew very well, having to sneak out and in constantly for patrol. As much as it was a bother, she knew it was for their safety. At least they hadn't had any serious youma attacks within the Crystal Academy grounds.
Watching him dancing around to gain warmth from the cold brought a smile to her lips. She would have admonished him for not wearing more layers, but instead, decided not to delay any time and threw up her window further. "Up the tree? There is security at the front door too, you know."

"I simply assumed what with the way I'm hopping about you might mistake me for a rabbit stuck in the cold. The later of which I am, it is cold. Even if it isn't Easter, and I'm not a bunny that fact remains true." Now if Easter was soon, Sorrin probably would have gone with Elzo, and attempted to trade Candycanes for chocolate eggs, he also wouldn't be hopping down quite as much. Still, this was all besides the point. He was here, she was up there, and it had been a very long time since the two had seen each other and it was fun just to joke around. (Even though he was still freezing and this is a key problem for someone just wearing a shirt, jeans and a hoodie. At least he had gloves though!)
With a nod he latched onto the tree tugging his way up to the branches wiggling his way between them cursing each one that dropped a damp cold pile of snow on his head. "Ah yes, but the front door, ah, they can be distracted!" Taking a moment to pause on a branch he made what he figured was the most sad and pathetic puppy dog face at Serenade. "Just make that face, you know the really sad one. Then say something about a lost letter from family and they'll eat it up like flies on honey while I sneak by."
This of course probably wouldn't work, but it would be fun to try sometime if Serenade ever had the wild desire to mess around with campus guards.
Finally he reached out to the window shaking as much as snow off as he could before hopping inside. Once in he gave the girl a rather big, and slightly damp bear hug. "You know, you should really look into growing your hair Rapunzel style, it'd be a lot easier to climb up." Though he figured if he turned into Hephaistos he could clear the distance in a single leap, but that was something Serenade didn't need to know about. She had enough to worry about all the time it seemed let alone finding out he was running around fighting monsters.

She gave him a disapproving look as he made his way to climb through her window, scrutinizing his choice of outfit. Really? He was wearing so little on a day like this? Perhaps only the senshi could get away with that, being in super-powered form, although she did have some doubts about Neso being out on patrol during weather like this... But Sorrin wasn't Neso, she told herself sternly. But that was exactly why she was worried too. That meant he didn't have accelerated healing.
"My parents write e-mails." And sent photos and even some recordings of their performances, which she enjoyed getting every once in a while. Serenade answered crisply. "Letters take too long, and they're always flying here and there."
She patted his back, freezing slightly not as his touch, but as his comment at having long hair. Technically, switching into Princess form made her hair reach the ground, for some odd reason she never understood and never bothered to understand... but, "Long hair is hard to maintain, you know. It'd drag on the floor." And get in the way of battles, she added privately. Especially since her Princess form was rather useless at the time...

It was indeed true, Sorrin did wear so little. He didn't enjoy big puffed up coats he liked to be quick and nimble with his hoodie and jeans. Perhaps it was a boy thing? They all tended to do it. Still he was secretly blessed, his trip home might be taken in that of a powered form. Strangely warm considering he was wearing an outfit made of metal and cloth in the dead of winter.
"Ah yes, that fancy digital age? Always ruins the old 'mail order' trickery." He offered a small but warm smile. "Busy parents as always? Dad moved the whole family when he got work orders up North."
Pulling back in the hug he tilted his head ever so slightly, "Could always put the hair in a bun? A nice beehive? C'mon have you seen Tangled? She did pretty well for having that much hair."
Something was off, she seemed to freeze for a moment. "You alright? You seem just sliiiiightly off," he paused for a moment frowning, "You need something to cheer you up I think. This calls for milkshakes I believe."
Of course he had no idea he has struck on a nerve of her secret life, then again, he had one of his own to hide.

"Concert schedule is quite busy this year." Serenade managed a smile with a shrug. At the very least, they did come back after the tours ended to visit and to tell stories, which were nicer to hear in person than in plain text. "Work decreed your dad move back to Destiny City?"
"That would be a huge bun." She said, shaking her head in disapproval. "Can you imagine playing the piano with all that hair piled atop your head?" A typical concern of Serenade; always thinking about how things affected her piano playing. Of course, now there was also her other life, but it was something he didn't need to know.
"I'm fine." She said, in an attempt to assure him. "I was just reading, that's all. It was a bit puzzling, but other than that..." She broke off, blinking at him in apprehension at his suggestion. "We're going out? In this weather? When you're wearing that?" She gestured at his outfit in horror.

"Well at least they get to do what they love? Can't be running all over the globe making music if you don't enjoy it at all." He paused for a moment nodding just a bit. "Yeah, you know, all those crazy people in the costumes, all the property damaged opened up work here in Destiny City so he's been working some extra shifts." Of course it was a bit awkward now since he was part of those costumed folks. Granted he was sure he was on the good side of the crazy madness in the city.
"It might be, nothing some industrial head spray can't hold in place." He only laughed at her worry. "I'm sure you could manage, or just wrap it around like a sash of hair."
"Fine, if you say so then." He twisted away from her walking towards the window tapping the side of it with a smile. "Well, if your a bit puzzled a milkshake can help clear that right up with some sweet relief." He paused at the look she gave him; the typical 'Sorrin your crazy' face that she had perfected in the time they knew each other.
"Well, how about you loan me something cute and frilly with extra fluff to keep me warm then and lets go get that milkshake." He said with a grin.
Of course he could just power up and get the shakes himself in half the time...

"It's weird." Was Serenade's only reply. Before her awakening, she had barely believed in the senshi's existence and dismissed the reports as hoaxes, but now, she knew better. Still, she thought it best for her to not defend the senshi too staunchly while a civilian and avoid the matter as much as possible. Not that she really had many people to talk to that weren't senshi, but there were friends like Sorrin, after all.
"Too much hassle." She said, with a shrug. Really, it was lucky that she didn't have to fight in her Princess form; it would be rather disconcerting to run about with the long gown and hair.
"Or brainfreeze." Serenade pointed out with another head shake. "Would you really be willing to don a girl's winter coat out in public? That might not be a good idea."

"Yea, kinda, I don't know really. Dad's happy he has work here again, and I'm glad to be home." He didn't shy away from the topic, he actually wished he could talk about it more even. It sucked having such a huge secret with no one to talk to about it.
"Fair enough it would be a hassle, but it would make getting into your room a lot easier."
Once again he was leaning on the window turning back to flash her a grin, "Brainfreeze only happens if you drink too much too fast. As for wearing a girls coat in public? Okay maybe not the best idea annnd I wouldn't want to stretch one of your jackets or anything..." For a moment he paused, one hand lingering against a pocket of his jeans as if debating something.
"What if... I promise to go, you can stay here and I'll be back in half the time?" Senshi powers: for going out to get Milkshakes on the fly.

"Home is where the heart is, after all." Serenade said simply. Her parents always seemed to marvel at how Destiny City had changed when they returned from tours, and usually went out to their frequent haunts, like the mall, the concert theater, the music store who was owned by a friend... It was all so predictable, but it was nice to accompany them when they did so. Predictability brought stability, which was something she needed in her life as much as possible.
"You'll freeze!" She protested, putting her hands on her waist adamantly. "It's alright, really! I don't really think it's advisable to drink something cold on a cold day, right?" At least, it didn't make sense to her, because it'd make one feel colder, right? She wasn't exactly sure about science-y things.

Home is where the heart is, the phrase brought a smile to Sorrin's face. Home was Destiny City. Where he met Elzo and went to summer camp. The place where he met Serenade and would sometimes attend her performances with the Crystal Academy. As well as all his other friends. Though most of them had left the city, it was still where he grew up. "You might be on to something with that. I never did feel at home up north. Too many business suits, no pretty ladies like yourself who could play the piano."
Even as she protested he was working the lock of the window starting to inch it up a bit. "I didn't freeze on the way over here did I? And it's perfectly acceptable to get a milkshake on a day like today. It's a day to celebrate seeing old friends again." The window slid up with a soft thump as he climbed onto the ledge. "Besides we'll be drinking them here where it's nice and toasty so the whole 'cold drink plus cold weather' is thus moot!"
Even if Serenade tried to object again it was too late, the boy had already leaped towards the near by tree scrambling in the branches and making a mess of snow fall to the ground followed not long after by the thud of his feet. "Be back in a feeewwww." Sprinting away he headed for the wall, but not the one in site of Serenades window that he would normally take, he took one by a near by building that would give him some cover. Pen in hand he did what some guardian cats would view as a grave misuse of power.
He henshined up to go get milkshakes.
Now a normal walk to the nearest shake place from Crystal was a good fifteen minutes. Hephaistos cleared that in five. The wait was a usual ten for Sorrin, but with a lovely discount and two big warm chocolate chip cookies as a welcome back to the city and a plea to, 'Try not to get into to much trouble with the Crystal girls will ya?'
Another six minutes back due to the careful balance of shakes while leaping from rooftop to rooftop and sprinting through alleyways. If anyone looked at a clock they would wonder just how Sorrin made it to and from the shake shop in such a record time. Soon he was squirming his way up the tree again, pen in his hoodie pocket, shakes and cookies in the doggy bag clenched in his teeth as he climbed.
"Suwaneeeed! Ophun uhf!"
Okay so trying to call for Serenade with a bag of goodies in his mouth wasn't exactly the easiest thing as he climbed onto the last branch.
"Seereeenaaaaaadeeee I come bearing gifts of delicious!"

"There must have been some." Serenade insisted. "There are piano players everywhere. It's pretty common for people nowadays to learn the piano." She was about to go on to harp on the matter of him jumping back out in the cold to buy milkshakes, of all things, but he had already gone. Sighing, she settled down on her bed again, besides Elke the teddy bear, and attempted to continue her reading which he had interrupted. Was this book really so popular? Some characters did rather inane things that she couldn't help but raise a skeptical eyebrow over.
"That was fast!" She exclaimed, surprised as she scrambled from her seat to reopen the window. "You didn't have to dash over so frantically, really. It wasn't as if this is an emergency."
Boys were very strange sometimes, really.

"Milk shakes are always an emergency. Besides I didn't want it to freeze on the way back so I had to move it just a little bit." Passing over the bag of treats he climbed back through the window shaking snow from his hair and hoodie before plopping down cross legged on the floor.
"As to what you were saying before I left, sure they might play piano but they aren't you. That's what makes them so different." Once the shakes were passed out he took a long sip eying Serenade, so far so good, no real questions how he made the trip. All was well. Except... wait a minute...
"...are you reading Twilight?"
