I left the TV on CNBC when I was doing chores today, not expecting much on Christmas Eve beyond a few soft news stories, maybe a nod to the holiday. What did I get?
A story on Wal-Mart and how it exploits its workers, so "Big Business: BAD!". Then, a story on MacDonald's. The historical part was interesting, and then it segued into how it exploits children by selling them irresistible junk food, so once again, "Big Business: BAD."
I thought, my, my, how about something uplifting, something sweet after all that?
Oh no. It was not to be. Next was a story about marijuana and how it can be a good home business, that it's an up-and-coming business for people who work out of their home. Oh, my God. Can propaganda be any clearer? It was also targeted toward women, that women who use (for medical purposes only) could run these small pot businesses and the legalization was bound to happen...apparently we've had a "70-year-prohibition" on pot.
Sorry, CNBC, while I don't frequent either of the big businesses you hate (and whose customers are funding your parent company), neither am I going to start nodding my head and say, "Yeah, pot should be legalized, I think I'll vote for it next time." Stupid Baby Boomers, still trying to relive their fab college days. Ugh.

Some people are just stuck in the past.
